Alpha, the latest film from Yash Raj Films’ Spy Universe, ended its first weekend on a disappointing note at the box office. The film’s all India tracked gross for three days stands at ₹39 Cr, marking another underwhelming performance for the once-successful franchise.
Weak Weekend Despite Day 2-3 Growth
Though Alpha showed some improvement on Day 2 and Day 3, the overall weekend collections fell well short of expectations. The film struggled to generate strong footfalls despite being part of the established YRF Spy Universe.
The disappointing box office performance can be attributed to limited pre-release buzz and underwhelming post-release talk. Audience reception remained lukewarm throughout the opening weekend.

Following Tiger 3 and War 2, Alpha represents the third consecutive disappointment for the YRF Spy Universe. The franchise, which once delivered strong box office returns, has lost significant audience appeal with consecutive underperformances.
Alpha stars Alia Bhatt and Sharvari in lead roles, with Shiv Rawail directing. Despite the star power and franchise backing, the film could not overcome weak content and poor word-of-mouth.
