Dil Raju has been at the centre of controversy and negativity for quite some time. His decision to go for a bigger release for Varasudu than direct Telugu films like Veera Simha Reddy and Waltair Veerayya attracted a lot of flak. Many felt that the producer is backtracking from his original statement made back in 2019 on giving priority to direct Telugu films over dubbed ones.
Dil Raju’s Varisu starring Vijay is releasing for Sankranti as well and has occupied the majority of theatres in Vizag. Speaking on the issue, Dil Raju said that this is just business and in the competition, one who holds a big number of theatres is the winner.
He further added that “My cinema is important for me and now there is no Telugu cinema and it will be only pan-Indian cinemas”.
But now, it looks like his statements are coming back to bite him. Varasudu is getting delayed because of technical issues and the ace producer is singing a different tune altogether.
Dil Raju is now claiming that the reason Varasudu is postponed is to allow the Telugu audience to witness their stars Balayya and Chiru first and Vijay later. This statement has attracted many trolls and comments on social media regarding his hypocrisy.
