SS Rajamouli’s epic multistarrer RRR stars Ram Charan and Jr. NTR in lead roles and actors such as Ajay Devgan and Alia Bhatt in supporting roles. RRR’s Tamil Nadu rights have been bagged by Lyca Productions, one of the top production houses in Tamil industry. Lyca Productions is known for producing biggies such as Kaththi, 2.0. They are currently producing upcoming Pan-Indian films such as Indian 2 and Ponniyin Selvan. They have previously distributed another bilingual Mahesh Babu’s tamil debut film Spyder.
Lyca has a very good distribution network in Tamil Nadu so a grand scale release is guaranteed for RRR. Lyca has reportedly paid an record price for a telugu-tamil bilingual in order to grab the rights. The deal was reportedly closed for whopping 42 crores that means the needs to collect more than 80Crs for breakeven. Lyca has given about half of the amount as advance and remaining will be settled right before the release. SS Rajamouli has great following in Tamil Nadu as Baahubali 2: The Conclusion still remains the highest grossing film in TN with a gross of about 150 crores which was brought for 47Crs. RRR is a bilingual made in Telugu and Tamil languages and dubbed in other languages such as Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada. This film will be the debut for Ram Charan and Jr. NTR in tamil industry.
