The massive failure of Liger has created a severe dent in Puri Jagannadh’s brand image. Puri, who once worked with tier-one stars like Mahesh Babu, Pawan Kalyan, NTR, Prabhas, Charan and Allu Arjun is now attracting little interest from even tier-2 stars. Amidst this career slump, it now appears that Ram is the only hope for the maverick director.
Ram and Puri Jagannadh have earlier delivered a smashing hit in the form of Ismart Shankar. The duo is now joining hands for another project. While some reports suggest that this could be a sequel to Ismart Shankar, others state that this is a fresh project and will have nothing to do with Ismart Shankar.
Earlier, there were reports of Puri directing Mega Star Chiranjeevi for an action drama. The project has now been shelved. The much talked about Jana Gana Mana starring Vijay Deverakonda which had a grand launch last year has now also been shelved.
With back-to-back projects now getting canceled, it now appears as if Ram is the only choice left for Puri Jagannadh.
