Stree 2 set for 500 crore club

Stree 2 starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao has rocked the box office like anything. The film with its premieres itself showed strong performance and on the opening day, it just skyrocketed. Stree 2 grossed more than 64 crores worldwide on the opening day stunning the trade analysts. Now, Stree 2 is set for joining the 500 crore club.

The film continued the same momentum in the weekend thanks to the long holiday advantage. The film managed to cross 100 crores in just 3 days. Sunday’s performance was better than the opening day. Stree 2 has already crossed 200 crores worldwide with 5 days of its run. Only 5 films have collected so far 500 crores Nett in India in just Hindi Version. Baahubali 2 was the first one to do it. Pathaan, Jawaan, Gadar 2 and Animal followed the trend.

Now, Stree 2 looks very comfortable in joining this club. The film as said will put massive numbers in the second weekend as well. Stree 2 will also cross the lifetime collections of Kalki 2898 AD in Hindi Version. The sequel craze has been helping the film big time. Family Audience have been rushing to the theatres like anything and hence this humongous performance.

Yuvraj Singh’s Biopic announced

The biopic of star Indian ex-cricketer Yuvraj Singh has been officially announced. For years, fans have been demanding a biopic chronicling the rise and stardom of Yuvi and it is finally a reality now. Yuvraj Singh played a massive role in India’s two most famous victories- the 2007 T20 WC and the 2011 ODI WC. He was named the man of the tournament for his superb all round performance in the latter.

Bhushan Kumar and Ravi Bhagchandka will produce the project. While further information about the cast, crew, and release date is yet to be revealed, the film is already viewed as a significant addition to India’s growing list of sports biopics.

The producers have promised that more details will be shared soon. The biopic will also delve into his inspiring battle against cancer, showcasing his resilience and determination to overcome life’s toughest challenges.

Coming to cricket biopics, films on MS Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar, and 83 World Cup victories have been made so far. Out of these, only the MS Dhoni biopic has tasted box-office success. We need to see how Yuvraj Singh’s Biopic does at Box office

Kanguva Postponed?

Superstar Rajinikanth’s ‘Vettaiyan’, directed by TJ Gnanavel, will be released in theaters on October 10, 2024. Earlier, the makers of Suriya’s ‘Kanguva’ announced that the film would be released in theaters on October 10. Producer KE Gnanavel Raja indicated that ‘Vettaiyan’ would be postponed, so they set October 10 as the release date.

In Vettaiyan, Rajinikanth plays a police officer. TJ Gnanavel directs the film, which stars Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, and Dushara Vijayan in major roles. Suriya is apparently playing a dual part in Kanguva, connecting two different times in the periodic drama set between 500 years ago and the present. Bobby Deol portrays the antagonist, who will face off against Suriya, while Disha Patani makes her Tamil debut as the female lead.

But now Rajanikanth’s ‘Vettaiyan’ will compete with Suriya’s ‘Kanguva’ in theaters on October 10. It will be an epic duel between ‘Kanguva’ and ‘Vettaiyan’, two of Tamil cinema’s most-awaited films, in 2024. But this may lead to the downfall of collections for both movies.

Now the buzz in Kollywood is that Kanguva likely to postpone or prepone the release date. If Kanguva postponed, Karthi’s meiyazhagan planning to release on 10th October.

It remains to be seen whether ‘Kanguva’ will be postponed to avoid a confrontation at the box office. There is no official announcement, but according to the inner rumor, Kanguva creators will shortly reveal a new release date.

Thangalaan Crashes On Monday!

‘Chiyaan’ Vikram’s period drama Thangalaan opened to positive reviews from critics and audiences in general. Expectedly, it collected a solid INR 50 crore worldwide (INR 27.5 crore in Tamil Nadu alone).

While experts predicted it would have a decent hold on its first Monday, unfortunately, that didn’t happen. Yes, Thangalaan witnessed a big drop today, thus minimizing its chances of minting a worldwide gross of INR 100 crore.

Considering today’s figures and tomorrow’s advance bookings, the film is expected to make a lifetime gross of INR 75 crore, thereby ending up as an average venture. G. V. Prakash Kumar has composed the film’s tunes, which also feature Malavika Mohanan as the female lead. Thangalaan is co-written and directed by Tamil filmmaker Pa Ranjith of Kabali and Kala fame.

అక్కడి నుండి మరిన్ని అవకాశాలు అందుకుంటూ దూసుకెళ్లిన పూరి ఇటీవల మాత్రం ఆశించిన స్థాయి సక్సెస్ లు లేక కెరీర్ పరంగా ఎన్నో ఇబ్బందులు ఎదుర్కొంటున్నారు. ఇక ఇటీవల ఆయన తీసిన వరుస సినిమాలు బాక్సాఫీస్ వద్ద పరాజయాలుగా నిలుస్తూ వస్తున్నాయి.

అయితే అంతకముందు ఎన్టీఆర్ తో తీసిన టెంపర్ తో హిట్ కొట్టారు పూరి, కానీ ఆ మూవీ కథ వక్కంతం వంశీ రాసినది. ఇక ఇటీవల తన సొంత కథతో ఒక్క హిట్ అందుకున్నారు పూరి. అది కూడా ఇస్మార్ట్ శంకర్ మాత్రమే, ఇక మిగతవన్నీ డిజాస్టర్స్. కాగా ఆ మూవీ కూడా రామ్ స్టైల్, డ్యాన్స్, సాంగ్స్ వల్లనే ఆడింది.

దీనిని బట్టి ఆయన నుండి ఎలాంటి కాలం చెల్లిన కథలు వస్తున్నాయో అర్ధం చేసుకోవచ్చు. నిజానికి ఇస్మార్ట్ శంకర్ కూడా పెద్ద గొప్ప కథ కాదు. అందుకే ఇక పూరి కథ రాసేబదులు ఎవరి వద్ద నుండి అయినా రాసిన కథతో సినిమా చేస్తే టెంపర్ లాగా పాజిటివ్ రిజల్ట్ వచ్చే ఛాన్స్ ఎక్కువుంది. మొత్తంగా కెరీర్ పరంగా అన్నీ డిజాస్టర్స్ చవి చూసిన పూరి జగన్నాథ్ ఇకపైనా అయినా మంచి సక్సెస్ లతో కమ్ బ్యాక్ ఇవ్వాలని కోరుకుందాం.
