The GOAT: Fake and Exaggerated numbers

0

The GOAT starring Vijay released yesterday amidst great hype and expectations. The film has also grossed more than 100 crores worldwide. But the Production house has exaggerated the numbers and released a fake poster claiming the film had collected 126 crores. This has gone viral now and some netizens are coming out strongly on the production house.

The film as said has obviously crossed 100 crores worldwide but the makers have exaggerated it by adding more than 25% which looked shocking. Vijay’s previous film, Leo which came close to 150 crores gross was announced exactly by the makers with no exaggeration. But this was not the case with The GOAT. They have come up with 126 crores which goes out of logic.

Netizens are comparing both The GOAT and Jawan on these collections and doubting the performance of The GOAT. Jawan posted 129 crores with a stunning opening in so many screens all over the world but that’s not the case with The GOAT. They couldn’t believe how The GOAT went close to Jawan’s numbers and are ridiculing this on social media. This is not at all a good move by the production house. We have to see if this was only for the opening day or it may continue till the weekend and there on.

Meanwhile, the film is holding well in Tamil Nadu and overseas but underperforming in Telugu States and Kerala. Big losses are expected in this region. Karnataka’s performance looks okayish.

0

Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming film, Emergency geared up for release today. But the film’s release was halted by Bombay High Court raising concern over certain depictions in the film. The film was also denied certification by the CBFC board recently. Now, Kangana Ranaut has officially announced the postponement of Emergency to some other date.

The film is also directed by Kangana Ranaut making it her directorial debut. The Actress recently became an MP from the BJP and has been under criticism for being over-vocal for BJP. The Actress also indulges in creating controversies with her tweets and replies on X/Twitter. Likewise, she made a film now portraying the character of former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi. This didn’t go well with Congress Party and others who took objection. They feel that this was her act of degrading former Prime Minister and her party.

All these have led to the stoppage of release and postponement of Emergency. Kangana took to X/Twitter and said that she had to postpone the film. She said that a new release date would be announced soon and also thanked people for understanding and patience. We have to see if Emergency actually releases amid this amount of criticism and uproar.

35 Chinna Katha Kaadu movie review: Nivetha Thomas is a pleasant surprise in this ‘small film’ with a big message

0

Movie Name: 35
Rating: 3.25/5
Cast: Nivetha Thomas, Vishwadev Rachakonda, Priyadarshi, Arundev, Gautami, Ananya
Director: Nandakishore Emani
Produced By:  Srujan Yarabolu, Siddharth Rallapalli
Release Date: September 5th, 2024,

Nivetha Thomas, Priyadarshi, and Vishwadev Rachakonda starrer 35- Chinna Katha Kaadu has managed to create excellent buzz before its release. The reports from industry insiders have been quite positive and the premiers gave out extremely positive talk. Let’s see if 35 movie manages to make the impact the makers claimed it would.

Story:

Saraswathi (Nivetha Thomas) is married to Prasad (Vishwadev Rachakonda) and leads a happy life in Tirupathi. The couple has two sons Arun (Arundev) and Varun (Abhay Shankar). Troubles in the family’s happy life start when Arun, a sixth-class student starts struggling in Mathematics. This issue further aggravates when his new Maths teacher Chanakya (Priyadarshi) further pressurizes Arun due to his weak academics. He berates Arun by calling him a ‘zero’ and challenges him to score at least 35 to pass the exam. Deeply affected by this, Saraswathi, decides to help her child out and ace the exams. Will she succeed? How do these incidents at school impact the family? This is what the story follows.

Performances:

Nivetha Thomas in a career-defining role has shouldered the movie with terrific maturity. The audience has never witnessed her in such a role and will be pleasantly surprised by each of her scenes. Her performance as a doting mother determined to protect her child against the cruelty of the education system is one of the highlight performances of the year. Vishwadev Rachakonda gives decent support to Nivetha as her husband while Priyadarshi is dependable as ever and delivers another solid performance as a strict Maths teacher. Arundev, the child artist is perfectly cast and showcases the innocence and vulnerabilities of childhood with great ease.

Analysis:

35-Chinna Katha Kaadu has a straightforward plot without any unnecessary deviations. It initially appears to be in a similar zone as Aamir Khan’s Taare Zameen Par, but it eventually forges its own path and tackles a number of significant issues. Although the opening sequences imply that this is a children’s movie, it becomes evident by the interval that this is a movie for everyone with kids just playing the central roles.

Various issues such as the modern education system, children’s psychology, and family support have been showcased with great maturity. The film truly comes into its zone once Nivetha decides to continue her education to become a teacher for her child. 35 has some pacing issues in both halves and Arun and Prasad’s characters could have been shown in detail. That being said, it is a movie that can be enjoyed with the whole family.

Positives:

  • Nivetha Thomas
  • Vivek Sagar’s music
  • Emotional scenes in the second half
  • Casting

Negatives:

  • Pacing issues in both halves
  • Some scenes might feel boring

Verdict:

35 Chinna Katha Kaadu is a perfect family drama with something to take home for everyone. The kids would enjoy it so would adults. It’s a movie that highlights several vital issues that we all face and is highly relatable. Walk into your nearest theatres if you’ve been longing for a feel-good family drama.

The GOAT Telugu: Vijay’s weakest opening in recent times

0

Tamil Actor Vijay fondly called as Thalapathy Vijay is currently witnessing a peak stardom in Kollywood. The Actor was also able to create a good following in Telugu States in the recent past years. All his films have opened to decent numbers and some became good hits here as well. But recently released, The GOAT‘s Telugu version turned as Vijay’s weakest opening film in the recent times.

The GOAT carried no proper hype and promotional activities before the release here. But previous films of Vijay such as Leo, Vaarasudu, Beast and Master had a very good opening at the box office. But The GOAT didn’t open or perform to the level of these films at the box office. The film’s pre release business in Telugu is valued at more than 20 crores share. With the opening it had and the talk generated later, the film now looks unable to touch even 10 crore share mark.

The GOAT is also on track to becoming a big disaster in the Telugu Version. On the other hand, the film received phenomenal opening at the Tamil Box office. It grossed nearly 100 crores on the opening day showing the star power of Vijay there. It has to be seen how the film performs there as it received a mixed talk there as well.
