Saripodhaa Sanivaaram will be streaming on the leading OTT Giant, Netflix from tonight. The film will stream in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi languages. The film performed theatrically well even in other languages. So, the OTT viewing will also be good from the audience.

Devara to Hit OTT After 8 Weeks

Recently, we saw several films including big pan India films arriving on OTT in just 4 weeks after their theatrical release. Kalki 2898 AD on the other hand went for 8 weeks theatrical window which helped the film get a big long run in theatres. NTR’s Devara will also be opting for an 8-week window.

Devara’s OTT rights have been acquired by Netflix and this Koratala Siva pan-India action entertainer will arrive on OTT only after the 8-week window. It will be released on Netflix in all languages.

Meanwhile, Devara is all set to create a box office storm. The film’s overseas s, as well as domestic bookings, are showcasing every sign of a blockbuster opening. In fact, the film is poised to create non-RRR opening records in Telugu states and cross the Rs 50 crores share barrier on the first day.

Now all eyes are on the Day 1 public talk. If positive word of mouth comes out after initial shows, then Devara will have a blockbuster run in days to come considering the Gandhi Jayanti and Dussehra holidays in its week 2.

Devara: Non RRR opening in Telugu States

Devara is all set to hit the big screens in a matter of two days. The hype and anticipation for this pan-India action entertainer is at an all-time high and the bookings are projecting a massive opening for this NTR – Janhvi Kapoor starrer.

In Telugu states, Salaar holds the existing non-RRR opening record with a Rs 48Cr share. RRR reigns supreme with a massive Rs 74 Cr opening share. Looking at Devara’s advance bookings, Hires and midnight shows it’s certain that Devara will open with Rs 50 Cr share in Telugu states and surpass the Salaar record.

It is on its way to establishing a non-RRR record in Telugu states and becoming only the second film after the SS Rajamauli multi-starrer to hit the Rs 50 crore share mark. Devara’s theatrical rights are valued at Rs 120 Crores and an impressive 40% recovery is expected on opening day.

Tamil Nadu Theatre Association seeks Government support

The Tamil Nadu Theatre Association has requested the Tamil Nadu Government to consider some of their listed demands. The demands are as follows:

  • Introducing flexible ticket prices upto ₹250. It will help introduce Recliner seats ( a demand by Multiplex Association of India). Tamil Nadu is the only state in South India without recliner seats.
  • Allow Multiple shows per day starting as early as 4 AM ( atleast on Day 1 of release) to compete with the neighbouring states and overseas markets.
  • The OTT release for big star films should be 8 weeks (56 days) and for others 6 weeks (42 days).

It needs to be seen if the Government okays these proposals. Tamil Actor cum Politician Udhayanidhi Stalin is also the son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, M.K. Stalin. So he might be giving preference to these proposals.

Karthi’s apology hurts Tamil people

Tamil Actor Karthi recently attended for the pre-release event of his upcoming Sathyam Sundaram/Meiyazhagan in Hyderabad. He responded about laddu in a different way linking it to the ongoing controversy happening in AP. Actor cum Politician Pawan Kalyan took strong objection to these comments and reacted sharply. Karthi instantly apologised for this on his official X/Twitter Account. However, this apology has hurt Tamil People now.

Tamil Netizens have been trolling Pawan Kalyan for making the issue big. They are roasting him for following the path of BJP and doing Hindutva politics as well. They felt that there was nothing wrong from the part of Karthi but still he apologised only to console Pawan Kalyan since he is a big star. Pawan Kalyan also responded strongly against Prakash Raj but the latter didn’t apologise and told that he would be giving a befitting reply again to the former. This didn’t happen from the side of Karthi which has also hurt Tamil people.

This incident is really unfortunate to see. Pawan Kalyan behaving as a religious politician and warning other actors is surely one of the saddest incidents for both his fans and audience as well. No one imagined Pawan Kalyan to behave this way as a complete Hindutva politician just like a BJP spokesperson.

Ajith follows Vijay: Taking a big break from cinema

Tamil Actor Vijay has ventured into politics with his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). The Actor has also declared that he will be doing only one last film, Thalapathy69 before working full time in politics for the 2026 Tamil Nadu State Assembly Elections. Now another top star of Kollywood, Ajith seems to be following Vijay. He is also learnt to be taking a big break from cinema.

Ajith is said to be planning to participate in European GT4 championship in 2025. He is currently working for two films, Vidaamuyarchi and Good Bad Ugly. He will be wrapping these films and concentrate on the championship for a while. Vidaamuyarchi is expected to release by this year’s end or may arrive during next year’s sankranthi. Good Bad Ugly will be releasing during Summer next year.

This is definitely a bad news for the audience of Kollywood. Two current top stars of the film Industry may not be available after 2 years as full time actors. No one knows if Vijay comes back as he had determined himself to be in politics completely. Ajith on the other hand is also not committed to films properly. We have to see what happens in the future.

Devara re-censored runtime details

Devara starring NTR is all set for release on 27th September worldwide. The film’s release trailer has also been released recently and the team is busy promoting the film online. Devara was initially censored U/A with 177.58 minutes but the team has gone back for re-censoring now and its details are as follows.

The team after many checks has trimmed the length of the film. Major scenes of the second half have been chopped according to sources. Devara’s final censored version is 170.58 minutes including Warning advertisements about smoking and drinking. The exact film length will be 163 minutes i.e., 2 hours and 43 minutes. First half of the film is said to be a big lengthier than second half.

This is a great decision by the team to trim the unnecessary scenes. Recently many films have been criticised of being long in terms of runtime. The teams of those films exhibited great confidence but after the ill response they had trimmed many minutes from the film. It was of no use later as well. So better to go with a medium length. Devara also has a second part which will be teased at the end. Fans and Audience have been eagerly waiting for the film.
