0

Nag Ashwin, one of Tollywood’s leading directors who gained pan-India recognition with Kalki 2898 AD starring Prabhas, is now in plans to collaborate with Sai Pallavi for an exciting new film.

According to the initial plans, the director wanted to start the Kalki sequel this year only, but due to Prabhas’ other commitments, it got continuously delayed. The Baahubali actor is currently working on Raja Saab and Fauji, and after that he also has another film, Spirit.

There’s still plenty of time before Prabhas joins Kalki 2898 AD. Meanwhile, Nag Ashwin is reportedly working on another script, which is said to feature a female lead. Initially, Alia Bhatt was considered for the role, but the latest buzz suggests that the Bollywood actress is no longer in the running for the part.

Is Sai Pallavi set to star in Nag Ashwin’s female-centric film?

According to inside reports, Nag Ashwin is considering working on his new film with Sai Pallavi. However, these remain mere speculations for now, as the Yevade Subramanyam director is still uncertain about when his next project will commence.

If Sai Pallavi joins Nag Ashwin’s film, it will surely be an exciting project, as the Premam actress is a phenomenal performer, and Ashwin consistently creates iconic roles for his female leads.

Kantara Chapter 1 Faces Struggle in Hindi, Overseas

0

Kantara Chapter 1 sees a good opening in all South states on its first day, and the film holds strong on day 2 too. However, the film faces struggles in Hindi and overseas and falls short of expectations.

As said above, the spiritual action drama opened well in South India, but in Hindi the trend is not good. It opens with below-par numbers of 18 Cr net in India, and surprisingly, day 2 is trending even less than that.

For films like KGF-2, Baahubali-2, and Pushpa-2, Hindi numbers are huge. Whereas as of now, Kantara’s prequel is not even looking good enough to go for 200 Cr, and it looks like a hurricane task going by the current trend.

The Rishab Shetty directorial also has the same story with Overseas. Yash and Prashanth Neel’s KGF-2 collected 27 million overseas, and there were expectations that Kantara chapter 1 would at least target 15 million overseas.

But shockingly, on opening day, the film sees a start of just around $1.5M, and it is not witnessing the jump further. Even doing 1/3rd of KGF Chapter 2 numbers looks very tough for the film.

Overall, Kantara Chapter 1 is not having the expected surge in Hindi numbers, and this trend is definitely not good for the film to post huge numbers. It needs a massive turnaround overseas and Hindi to put up big numbers at the box office.

0

The much-hyped film, Akhanda 2, is doing record business for Balakrishna. Already the OTT rights have been bought by Netflix for a sensational price of more than 80 Cr. Theatrically also the film is doing record business.

So far, no Balakrishna film has achieved 100 Cr in theatrical business, and the actor is yet to reach a 100 Cr share. While he has been delivering consecutive hits, they haven’t crossed the 100 Cr mark.

Akhanda 2 Business: Biggest in Balakrishna’s Career

The trade predicts that with Akhanda 2, Balakrishna could not only surpass the 100 Cr share mark but might even enter the 150 Cr share club, as the film is expected to achieve record-breaking business in his career.

The film’s theatrical rights have themselves gone beyond 100 Cr. The Andhra (6 Territories) business ratio is happening at 50 Cr, including Ceeded and Nizam; the Telugu states’ business itself will happen in the 95 Cr range, and worldwide it will go beyond 115 Cr.

0

Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1 was released in theaters worldwide on October 2, and it gathered superb openings at the box office. The spiritual action drama’s day 1 area-wise collection details are as follows.

In Telugu states the film has opened with 15 Cr gross, and in Karnataka it gathered 24 Cr gross, including the premieres. Tamil Nadu’s number is 6 Cr, and Kerala also gathers 6 Cr, with North India getting 22 Cr.

Kantara Box Office: Good hold on day 2 after a superb start.

Overall, if we calculate Kantara Chapter 1’s day 1 collections area-wise, the India gross is 73 Cr. The overseas gross is 14 Cr, which takes the total gross to 87 Cr, which is a superb opening for the film.

On Day 2 the film is having a good hold, and it needs to witness much bigger jumps from the evening shows on Saturday and Sunday to see huge numbers for the weekend.

The trade expects the film to do in between 600 and 700 Cr, and we need to see where it will settle at the end.

Sujeeth’s Direction in OG – A Mixed Bag

0

After Attarintiki Daredi, Pawan Kalyan fans are thrilled with OG, and the credit goes to director Sujeeth for showcasing their favorite hero on screen in the most impressive way. However, Sujeeth’s direction for OG gives a mixed bag of reactions.

In the film, Pawan Kalyan looks dashing in every frame, and the way his character is elevated is a true treat for fans. This impressive presentation has created a massive buzz and ensured a strong opening for the movie.

For neutral audiences, OG didn’t fully satisfy expectations, as the emotional aspects of the film fell flat. Even some fans struggled to connect with the backstory of Pawan Kalyan and Priyanka Mohan, and the story and presentation had numerous flaws.

OG: Sujeeth Could not impress fully as a director

Because of this factor, the film didn’t achieve the anticipated massive trend after its opening day. However, it managed to maintain a decent hold thanks to the hero’s star power. Pulling such kind of a film like this is no easy task, but Pawan Kalyan made it happen. The movie is heading towards 300 Cr gross in its full run, which is a huge number.

If Sujeeth’s direction for OG had managed to strike a better balance between style and substance, the film’s numbers could have been at least 50% higher than they currently are. Because of this shortcoming, the Telugu buyers still haven’t reached breakeven.

If the film catered to all audiences, then for that buzz, the break-even would have been achieved in the 1st week itself in all territories.

The Malayalam Latest Blockbuster Lokah: Chapter 1 Chandra has not done yet at the box office, and the film still performed well last weekend with its consistent run and stands very near to the magical number, 300 Cr gross worldwide.

For 36 days Lokah has collected 295 Cr gross, and it stands just 5 Cr away from achieving the 1st 300 Cr milestone for Mollywood.

In Kerala the film has collected 117 Cr gross and needs just another 2 Cr to create an all-time record. The movie collected 24 Cr in Tamil Nadu, 14 Cr in Karnataka, 14 Cr in Telugu states, and around 7.5 Cr in North India, which takes its total all-India gross to 176 Cr+.

Lokah is also a huge blockbuster overseas, as it collected 119 Cr, taking the total gross to 295 Cr, and as said above, the film is all set to join the 300 Cr club by this weekend itself.

Balakrishna Fans Blast Out in Anger

0

The recently released poster on the occasion of Dasara for Akhanda 2, the much-anticipated sequel, has sparked outrage among Balakrishna fans. Their reaction come from a couple of key reasons.

Akhanda 2 was the first film to announce the 25th September date for theatrical release. Later the OG team announced the release date, and it was released in theaters as per the plan.

The highly anticipated sequel of Balakrishna and Boyapati Sreenu, Akhanda 2, has been postponed to December 5th, which has left Balakrishna fans upset and angry. Adding to their frustration are other issues, such as the new poster released for the Dasara festival.

Akhanda 2 Promotions: Balakrishna Fans angry on the team

With only two months remaining until the release, Balakrishna fans and audiences were hoping for a proper teaser from the Akhanda sequel team, along with an announcement of the release date. However, the team only unveiled a poster.

NBK fans are not at all happy with the poster release, and its quality is not in great taste either.

For a film like Akhanda 2, fans expect it will take their favorite hero, Balayya, to a whole new level and bring pan-India stardom as well. So, the fans are expecting the team to do continuous promotions and events across all languages and to go for a proper pan-India release.

So far, the team has only shared a brief glimpse of the film along with a few posters.

OG Enters Crucial Weekend for 300 Cr Milestone

0

Pawan Kalyan’s OG is still performing well at the box office, as it collected more than 260 Cr gross for 8 days and entered its 2nd weekend. The positive sign is that today’s noon shows have started on a good note.

The film needs to target at least 25 Cr this weekend, and it must go close to 290 Cr gross by this weekend. If the film manages to go over 285 Cr by this weekend, then definitely achieving the 300 Cr milestone is an easy task.

No Tollywood film in 2025 has collected 300 Cr gross, and Pawan Kalyan’s OG collected 260 Cr in 8 days, and it is already the biggest grosser of 2025.

The action drama needs to achieve a 300 Cr milestone so that it can attain the hit status at the box office.

Kantara Chapter 1 Set to Smash 100 Cr in Telugu States

0

Kantara Chapter 1’s Telugu states’ release was done on an advance basis. It’s a producer’s own release, and Hombale Films always does business likewise. They believed in the content and took the entire theatrical risk, which continuously does wonders for them.

In Telugu states, Kantara Chapter 1 opens with 15 Cr gross and a double-digit share, including GST. Today also the film starts on a very strong note. With this the film will easily do over 50 Cr gross on the 1st weekend.

With positive WOM and reviews, the film certainly has a strong chance of grossing over 100 Cr in the long run. However, whether it reaches close to 150 Cr will depend on the jump it sees this weekend and how well it holds afterward.

Telugu States Box Office: Can Kantara Chapter 1 Reach KGF-2?

As of now the trend is very good and strong for Rishab Shetty’s spiritual action drama, which is all set to join one of the biggest revenue films in Telugu states among dubbed releases.

KGF-2 collected around 150 Cr gross in Telugu, and whether Kantara can go to that range is still debatable, but 100 Cr gross looks like a sure shot possibility.

Franchise Films Rock Kerala, Except Pushpa 2

0

Franchise films like Baahubali 2, KGF 2, LCU film Leo, and Mohanlal’s Empuraan did very well at the Kerala box office, but Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 failed to meet expectations and became a big failure.

Apart from Allu Arjun’s highly anticipated sequel, all the films listed above debuted with record-breaking numbers and achieved massive success over time in Kerala.

Now Kantara Chapter 1 has also exceeded trade’s expectations, and despite not having much pre-release jump and multiple films running in theaters, it still sees a 6 Cr opening, which is one of the biggest openings in Kerala.

Pushpa 2 Kerala: A Disappointing Result

Surprisingly, the Rishab Shetty directorial nearly matches the opening of the highly anticipated project, Pushpa 2, at the Kerala Box Office.

Among franchise films, only Pushpa 2 failed to impress both in its opening and long run in Kerala. The film was expected to take a record opening but settled with just around a 6.3 Cr opening, and in its full run, it received disastrous collections.

Kantara Chapter 1 is expected to perform well in the long run, as the initial word-of-mouth for the film has been positive.
