Tollywood April: Star-studded announcements ahead

The month of April is set to witness many announcements and promotional activities of various star-studded films. Ram Charan’s Peddi Glimpse Video has also been announced today to release on April 6th. Much awaited combo, Allu Arjun and Atlee’s film is also set for announcement on 8th April. An update about Allu Arjun and Trivikram’s film may also come out on the same day.

Another much awaited film, SSMB29 official press meet is also speculated to happen in April. All details of the film will be announced through this press meet. Prabhas’ The Raja Saab’s Teaser is also expected to be out somewhere in April. Chiranjeevi’s Vishwambhara may have an update along with the announcement of the release date officially.

On the other hand, Pawan Kalyan’s much delayed film, Hari Hara Veera Mallu Trailer may also release in April. NTR and Prashanth Neel’s film, NTRNeel will have also a new schedule with NTR joining the sets. Good Bad Ugly Second Single “God Bless U” released

The Second Single of Good Bad Ugly starring Ajith is out now. Titled, God Bless U, the song composed by G.V. Prakash Kumar has vocals provided by Noted Musician and Singer, Anirudh. The song is currently going viral for its vibeful beats and electrifying vocals of the Singer.

Ajith has also grooved to the tunes of the song to impress the fans and audience. He was spotted in a prison uniform indicating a sequence here. The production values were also seen with the sets and the cinematography was also rich.

Peddi Glimpse officially announced

Tollywood Actor Ram Charan and Director Buchi Babu Sana, fame of Uppena have collaborated together for a film. This was also titled Peddi and the first look posters were released recently on the occasion of the Actor’s birthday. The first look generated a positive response, and netizens felt that the team was set to deliver a rustic thriller.

Now, Peddi is set for the release of its Glimpse. The Glimpse Video, titled, #PeddiFirstShot will be out on April 6th on the occasion of Sri Rama Navami. This has been confirmed by the team officially a while ago with the release of a new poster. Ram Charan was seen jumping onto the field in the poster.

The film, touted to be a sports-based drama has cricket as the backdrop which was also seen in the first-look posters released by the team. The expectations are very high for the film because of the combo and the genre. Legendary Composer, A.R. Rahman will be composing the tunes of the film. Happening Actress, Janhvi Kapoor plays the female lead and the film is produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under his Vriddhi Cinemas.

L2: Empuraan becomes Mohanlal’s career best

L2: Empuraan starring Mohanlal released to a humongous opening and the box office numbers are shaking. The film has grossed more than 65 crores on the opening day promising a big run for the weekend. Likewise, On Day 4, the film has crossed 150 crores mark and has also become the fastest ever 150 crore grosser of Mollywood.

L2: Empuraan has also become Mohanlal’s career biggest grosser and also his 150 crore grosser worldwide. By today, the film will also move to the All-Time Top 3 spot and by tomorrow, it will reach the All-Time Top 2 slot. The film will definitely become the Industry Hit by crossing the record established by Manjummel Boys in its final run.

Reaching the 300 crore milestone and a few more will depend on how well the film performs after the 1st week period. Tollywood April calendar – Notable releases

With ‘Kannappa’ officially postponing from its April 25th release date, the month has now opened up for small and medium-budget films to take center stage in Telugu cinema. While no major big-budget films are arriving , several interesting releases are lined up, including re-releases of classics and fresh outings from promising actors and directors.

The re-release wave continues with ‘Aditya 369’ on April 4th and ‘Aarya 2’ on April 5th, bringing nostalgia for cinephiles. New releases start with ‘Jack’, starring Siddhu Jonnalagadda, and ‘Good Bad Ugly’, featuring Ajith, both hitting screens on April 10th. The following day, Predeep’s ‘Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi’ joins the list.

Tamannaah’s thriller ‘Odela 2’ arrives on April 17th, followed by Trinadh Rao’s production ‘Chaurya Paatam’ and Indraganti Mohanakrishna’s directorial ‘Sarangapani Jathakam’ on April 18th. Bellamkonda Sreenivas’s ‘Bhairavam’ is tentatively slated for April 25th, though an official announcement is awaited.

Tollywood Actor Chiranjeevi and Director Anil Ravipudi joined their hands together recently for a film. The film has also been officially launched today with a pooja ceremony. Tentatively titled, Mega157, the film will also star Venkatesh in a cameo role who also graced the opening ceremony and sounded the clapboard.

Producer Allu Aravind had the honor of switching the camera and legendary Director, K. Raghavendra Rao has directed the first shot. Star Producers, Dil Raju and Shirish handed over the script to the makers. The event has also witnessed the presence of many other prominent celebrities from the film industries such as Naga Vamsi, UV Creations Vikram, Director Vassishta, Srikanth Odela, Bobby, Shiva Nirvana, Vamshi Paidipally, Mythri Naveen and Ravi, Ashwini Dutt, Ram Achanta, Sharrath Marar, Vijayendra Prasad, KS Rama Rao, KL Narayana, Suresh Babu, Venkata Satish Kilaru, Gemini Kiran, Chukkapalli Avinash, Gemini Kiran and Nimmakayala Prasad.

The regular shoot of the film is to take place shortly and the film will be an out-and-out entertainer targeting the Sankranthi season next year.

Prabhas is set to play a sincere police officer in the upcoming crime action drama Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Sikandar Movie Review: A Big Disappointment

Salman’s new action film, Sikandar, has hit theaters today in celebration of EID. Directed by AR Murugadoss, renowned for his work in Tamil and Hindi cinema with films like Ghajini, Thuppakki, and Kaththi, the movie features Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, and Sathyaraj in significant roles. The film’s promotional content didn’t impress audiences, and let’s check whether the movie reverses the opinion in our review.

Story:

A stubborn cop named Prakash seeks out King Sanjay Rajkot, who belongs to a royal family, as the latter beats the son of a crooked politician, Pradhan. After an unexpected loss, Sanjay visits Mumbai to connect with three organ recipients and meets Pradhan and his privileged son, Arjun again. How does Pradhan try to trouble Sanjay, and what is Sanjay’s response forms the story.

Performances:

Salman Khan looks impassive, not showcasing any muscle tone or agility, and reciting dialogues without emotion. Rashmika Mandanna’s important role cannot impress and ends up being comical. Sathyaraj’s performance fell short in a routine antagonist role, focused on threats and yelling.

Kajal Aggarwal is fine, while Kishore felt lackluster. Sharman Joshi plays a loyal sidekick to the Hero. Prateik Babbar plays a role like Darbar, an unremarkable part of a privileged brat.

Analysis:

Murugadoss sought to blend action and emotion in Sikandar. The storyline feels fine, and an interesting screenplay and well-crafted characters would elevate it. But Sikandar fails to utilize its strength. The initial scenes are not great but effective for a while. The emotional moments with Salman and Rashmika fail to resonate because of their ordinary treatment. Once the tragedy strikes, a small impact follows, leading to expectations for the latter part to enhance it.

But, in the second half, Sikandar loses the rhythm entirely. The Hero-Villain conflict lacks strength. The Hero takes charge effortlessly and resolves all matters in a timely manner. The antagonist, portrayed as a corrupt politician, fits the usual stereotype of someone who yells all the time but doesn’t act. The Hero’s sentimental scenes with three important characters seem unconvincing and ineffective. The climax scenes that aim to glorify the hero feel underwhelming.

Sikandar Movie Review and Verdict:

Sikandar ends up as a big disappointment. The film offers no entertainment or emotional depth. Salman Khan and Murugadoss, along with others, seem to have collectively failed with the film.
