Pushpa 2 vs Baby John irks PVR Inox

National Multiplex Chain, PVR Inox looks undecided between Pushpa 2 and Baby John. Pushpa 2 which released this month is rocking the box office especially in the Hindi Belt. So much so that it has grossed more than 600 crores there becoming the highest grosser as well. On the other hand, Baby John starring Varun Dhawan is releasing on 25th December and this clash has put PVR Inox in trouble.

Pushpa 2 is still unstoppable at box office raking in more than 175 crores in its second week. The film is also expected to continue the same momentum even in the third week but Baby John looks to dampen its prospects a bit. To accommodate screens for Baby John might see Pushpa 2 losing the box office grip as well. Hindi Distributor of Pushpa 2, Anil Thadani is demanding to get 50% screens for Pushpa 2 but this looks not possible with the release of a direct Hindi film.

Baby John too is riding high with the hype generated and may also set the box office on fire. Mufasa: The Lion King too has already released which implies that Baby John would be restricted to less than 50% which is a big blow. So, we have to see what PVR Inox would do to impress both the film parties involved.

Priyanka Chopra cast in Mahesh Babu – Rajamouli film

The much excited Mahesh Babu – Rajamouli film, tentatively titled SSMB29 is set to take off soon. The pre-production works and location scouting have already been finished by the Director Rajamouli. It is now speculated that Bollywood Actress, Priyanka Chopra is coming onboard for the film to take the hype further. She will be the lead actress in the film. This will be a good choice, as Priyanka Chopra often opts for action films. She has a strong following in Hindi cinema and has also acted in Hollywood films before. The Mahesh Babu-Rajamouli film is targeting both international and Indian markets.

Malayalam Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran is also said to be considered for the antagonist role as per sources. The film’s shoot is expected to begin anytime in January next year. It is also learnt that the film may see a release only in 2027.

This film is also said to be a single part film and will not have any sequel. Mahesh Babu is preparing himself physically for the film which will see him going overboard with action stunts. It will also be shot in various foreign locations and the budget will also be huge.

Story:

The film is about the titular character, Bacchala Malli, played by Allari Naresh who is stubborn/foolish and adamant in his life and listens to no one. He hates his father because of an incident in his teenage and carries that hatred to death. However, Malli wants to change his life path when he meets Kaveri, played by Amrita Aiyer as he falls in love with her. Will Malli be able to win Kaveri’s love? What circumstances did he face in his journey because of his stubbornness? The answers to these questions form the rest of the story.

Performances:

Allari Naresh gave a heartfelt performance as Malli. His efforts can be seen in every scene. Amrita Aiyer was good and provided the required impact with her performance. Hariteja made her presence felt. Rao Ramesh was usual, while Rohini, Kota Jayaram, Achyuth Kumar, Prasad Behra, Ankith Koyya, and Praveen were fine.

Analysis:

Based on a true story, the film, Bacchala Malli tries to deliver a message. The trailer shows the film’s path and, it is nothing different from the movie. It solely concentrates on showing the lead character in an inhibited manner and succeeds in a few places. The first half raises some interest in the proceedings and though there is nothing new, there is nothing bad either. The interval scene tries to give a shock value and one would expect more intense taking in the second half. However, the film loses the flow as it progresses, and even the biggest emotional setbacks that the hero faces have zero value. The climax could have been an enduring experience if the hero’s character and journey had the right impact but faltered because of weak execution until then.

Bacchala Malli engages only in parts. Though the director’s intention was clear, the execution does not reflect it on screen. Allari Naresh’s sincere performance, few good dialogues here and there work for the film, but it turns out to be a boring affair for most of the parts.

Ram Gopal Varma’s Vyooham earns 11,000 per view

Tollywood Director Ram Gopal Varma’s political satire film, Vyooham created a big controversy before its release. The film depicting the Politicians of Andhra Pradesh was even put on hold before the release by the High Court with many cases filed against it. However, Vyooham made it to the theatres after much delay and bombed. But the film was sold to the AP Fibernet at record price. It has been revealed now that Vyooham was paid a record ₹11,000 for every view.

It came to notice that the then Government offered ₹11,000 per view and with 1863 people watching it, Vyooham made 2 crores 15 lakhs on the AP Fibernet. This is going viral now on social media platforms. AP Fibernet is an organisation set up by the AP Government to cater to the home audience providing them with broadband and landline connections. Now, the current Chairman of the organisation claims that the said incident has been identified within the organisation.

We need to see how the Government would take action on this. Ram Gopal Varma is yet to respond about the incident. The current AP Government led by Chandrababu Naidu is already after the Director for making such political satire films and resorting to image mockery of the politician for the past years on social media. However, the Director has won against the Government in getting an anticipatory bail preventing an arrest.

The Sankranthi biggies, Game Changer and Daaku Maharaaj are gearing up for the release of their most awaited Trailers. The shoot of both the films is almost complete with post production works in place. The release date and details of other updates of both the films are given below.

Game Changer Trailer is reported to release on 27th December with Daaku Maharaaj Trailer arriving on 4th January. Both the films’ pre-release events are planned grandly in USA. It is also known that Game Changer events are planned across major cities of the country to get a Pan India appeal. Whereas, Daaku Maharaaj pre-release event is said to happen on 4th January where trailer will also be released.

Coming to the updates, Game Changer’s 4th Single, Dhop promo is already out and the full lyrical will release 21st December. Pushpa 2 has established many records after its release with a stunning performance at the box office. The film has also grossed more than 1000 crores worldwide bringing a joy to the fans and Audience as well. But, in the game of numbers and throne, Pushpa 2 makers have now inflated the actual numbers by claiming that it grossed 1500 crores.

Till now, Baahubali 2, KGF Chapter 2, RRR and Kalki 2898 AD have grossed more than 1000 crores worldwide in South. But the makers of these films haven’t blown the actual numbers and presented the actual numbers. But this became different in the case of Pushpa 2 whose team has escalated the numbers upto 200 crores more.

With this feat, it is evident that the team of Pushpa 2 is eager to reflect with numbers that the film has overtaken Baahubali 2. This can definitely happen in the next two weeks of time.
