Pushpa 2 extended cut to set Christmas on fire

0

Pushpa 2 had a runtime nearly of 3 hours and 20 minutes. This is considered big for any film in the recent times. There were many doubts regarding the fate of the film with the amount of such long runtime. But Pushpa 2 managed to defy all odds and is racing towards the 1400 crores mark worldwide becoming a huge blockbuster at the box office. Now, an extended cut of Pushpa 2 is set to be added to the theatres for the Christmas season.

The extended version is said to be around 20 minutes which was trimmed before the release. But now with the film performing greatly even in the second week, the makers have decided to add this trimmed portion. This may even bring Audience to the theatres again for the holiday season during Christmas and New Year periods.

The collections of Pushpa 2 will also raise with this affect. The team is expecting to beat Baahubali 2 in the long run which looks possible. Pushpa 2 is also expected to run till the Sankranthi season with a big long run. On the other hand, the release of Baby John in Hindi belt is a concern. So, let’s wait and see.

Pushpa2: The Only Choice for Telugu Audiences Until Sankranthi

0

With the holiday season upon us, the Telugu film industry is gearing up for a strong finish to the year, especially with ‘Pushpa 2’ leading the way. Several releases planned for the Christmas period have faced hurdles, making ‘Pushpa 2’ the clear choice for Telugu audiences.

‘Robinhood’, initially slated for a Christmas release, has been postponed, leaving a gap in the market. Meanwhile, ‘Bachachlamalli’ has received negative word of mouth and reviews, failing to attract significant attention. ‘Vidudala 2’ has worked well with Tamil audiences but failed to make the same impact in Telugu, further reducing options for Telugu moviegoers. Additionally, the new release ‘UI’ is expected to appeal only to a specific audience segment that enjoys the unique style of Upendra’s films, which limits its broader appeal.
This leaves ‘Pushpa 2’ as the dominant force at the box office. With the Christmas holiday and the New Year weekend approaching, the film is set to perform strongly, with audiences having little choice but to flock to the much-anticipated sequel.

For Telugu buyers, the film’s success is crucial, as it needs to collect another 20% to break even, a feat that now looks very achievable.

Given the competition’s limited appeal and the excitement surrounding ‘Pushpa 2’, the film is expected to dominate the holiday season, ensuring strong box office numbers and solidifying its position as the go-to choice for Telugu audiences this Christmas and beyond.

Indian 3 Relies on Game Changer’s Outcome

0

The ambitious plans for Indian 2 and Indian 3, led by visionary director Shankar, have encountered a huge setback. Indian 2 movie failed to satisfy the audience. Its dismal performance has resulted in Indian 3 being temporarily shelved. With only a few days of shooting remaining for Indian 3, Shankar was forced to shift his full attention to his next movie, Game Changer after Indian 2 failure.

Shankar has announced that Indian 3 will be exclusively released in theaters. Despite the debacle of Indian 2, the teaser for Indian 3 has earned great appreciation, renewing some hope in the franchise. Kamal Hassan also expressed his huge hopes on the success of Indian 3.

Currently, Shankar is working hard to ensure the success of Game Changer, slated for release on January 10, 2025. If the film performs well, Shankar plans to revisit Indian 3 immediately after, with only a few remaining shooting days left to wrap up. If all goes smoothly, the film is expected to hit theaters by July or August 2025.
The future of Indian 3 heavily depends on the outcome of Game Changer. With a promising trailer and Kamal Haasan’s unwavering belief, fans are hopeful that the franchise will bounce back stronger. As the industry awaits the verdict on Game Changer, Shankar’s commitment to quality cinema remains steady.

UI Movie Review: A Crazy but Bland Satirical Film

0

Movie Name: UI
Rating: 2.25/5
Cast: Upendra, Reeshma Nanaiah, Sunny Leone, and Murali Sharma
Director: Upendra
Produced By: Lahari Films and Venus Entertainers
Release Date: 20th December 2024

Story:

Set in an imaginary world, Satya (Upendra) is a good man who tries to establish peace and love around him. Kalki (Upendra), his brother announces himself as God and rages against the world’s destruction. Kalki intends to conquer, while Satya works towards atonement.  Vamana Rao is a man who rose from a small thief to a corrupt politician and tries to take control, of the public. The rest of the story is about how Satya wins in his attempt to keep things settled or how Kalki tries to take control of everything.

Analysis:

Upendra is known for making crazy movies with different and innovative ideas. With UI, once again the star actor/director tried the same. Even though the underlying philosophy holds merit, the narrative is overly dramatic and takes a substantial amount of time to make sense. Though some scenes come out hilarious, mostly, the proceedings are confusing, loud, and silly. Only if one can understand the basic idea behind this movie, can one find enjoyment in the film and its main themes. Many scenes present a level of complexity that a common movie lover would not understand.

Performances:

Upendra does a good job in a dual role. He displays the trademark mannerisms, histrionics, and everything that his fans want from him. Ravi Shankar, Reeshma Nanaiah, Murali Sharma, and others were okay.

Positives:

  • Upendra’s Story Idea and Performance
  • Few Comedy Parts
  • Cheap Song

Negatives:

  • Loud Tone
  • Confusing Narration
  • Not So Strong Execution of some Interesting Episodes

UI Movie Review and Verdict:

UI is a Crazy but Bland Satirical Film. The main plot of the film is interesting and a few fun episodes along with Upendra’s performance work well for the film, while the exaggerated narration and loudness in most of the scenes work against it. One can enjoy the movie only if he is a die-hard fan of Upendra.

Viduthalai Part 2: Vetrimaaran strikes gold again

0

Viduthalai Part 2 starring Vijay Sethupathi released today amid good hype. The film has received unanimous positive reviews and word of mouth from the fans and audience. Director of the film, Vetrimaaran who is regarded as one of the best directors of Kollywood has once again proved his mettle with Viduthalai Part 2.

This is his 7th film and the Director has also managed to score hit with every film till now. The Prequel, Viduthalai Part 1 too acclaimed great praise after its release among the audience for its story and taking. Now, Viduthalai Part 2 looks to follow the same response and fate. The film is expected to gross more than 100 crores worldwide with these signs.

Vijay Sethupathi will be the biggest winner here with the film. His previous film, Maharaja became a blockbuster this year also bringing his performance many accolades. The film which was released recently in China is storming the box office and is inching close to 100 crores there itself.

Viudhdala Part 2 Movie Review: A Confused Action Drama

0

Movie Name: Vidudhala Part 2
Rating: 2.5/5
Cast: Vijay Sethupathy, Soori, Manju Warrier, Kishore, Bhavani Sre, Kishore and Gautam Menon
Director: Vetrimaaran
Produced By: Grass Root Film Company and RS Infotainment
Release Date: 20th December 2024

Story:

A revolutionary leader named Perumal (Vijay Sethupathi) is arrested for police and they keep him secretly under custody, and when this news leaks, it sparks chaos among his followers. To keep things simple, the higher officials send a police officer’s team to guide Perumal through a heavy forest, but an ambush set by his supporters creates confusion. The plot centers on what happens to Perumal along with showing his backstory.

Performances:

Vijay Sethupathi delivered a commendable performance as Perumal/Master. His acting in some crucial scenes is worth mentioning. Soori was sidelined for most of the film and got some scope at the end. Manju Warrier was fine, while Bhavani Sre was barely seen, Gautam Vasudev, Rajiv Menon, Chethan, Bala Hasan and other artists who appeared as police officers were apt.

Analysis:

The film starts exactly where Vidudhala 1 ended. The initial sequences that show why the schoolmaster Perumal got attracted to communism work well. Karuppan’s episode sets the intrigue but after that Vetrimaaran sidelines the film’s path by opening the flashback of Perumal. Till the midpoint, the film meanders a bit aimlessly. Also, after a point, the story frequently adopts a lecture-style approach regarding communism and oppression, which lessens its emotional resonance. Although the flashback episodes capture attention at first, they become stretched out. The shootout episode in the forest is also dragged, adds to the overall fatigue, and ends with an unfinished climax.

Positives:

  • Vijay Sethupathi’s Performance
  • First 30 Minutes
  • Few Intriguing Scenes

Negatives:

  • Dragged Flashback
  • Repetitive Scenes
  • Boring Moments in the first half
  • Mishandled Climax

Vidudhala 2 Movie Review and Verdict:

Vidudhala Part 2 is a Confused Action Drama. Vijay Sethupathi’s performance, a few poignant moments along with well-crafted fights work well for the film, while the dullness and confusion in the Screenplay and uneven feel in the latter half work against it.

Allari Naresh’s Hard Work, No Payoff

0

Allari Naresh is definitely one of the finest actors in Tollywood with a separate following. A few years back he was known for continuously delivering successful movies and being a minimum guarantee hero. However, this hit-streak has now evaded him and he is facing a box-office slump.

He is struggling to get success despite putting in great effort. He is back with his latest offering Bacchala Malli and that actor had pinned high hopes on the project. Allari Naresh’s performance is being well appreciated. Unfortunately, the story failed to make an impact.

The same was true with his recent films like Aa Okkati Addakku, Ugram, and Naandhi. In all these movies, his performance stood as the highlight, but the overall content couldn’t draw the audience. It now needs to be seen how the actor balances his future projects both in terms of content and box-office appeal and get back to the success track.

PVR INOX’s experiment: Refunds for the Audience

0

National Multiplex Chain, PVR INOX is coming up with an interesting proposal for film lovers. The Multiplex Authority will be allowing the Audience to get refund while leaving the theatre whenever they want after watching the film. This proposal will be applied at select theatres in the Delhi-NCR.

This proposal will come as a relief for the Audience to leave the theatre if they feel not like watching a film anymore. However, the audience must opt for a Flexi Show feature while booking the ticket which seeks an additional 10% premium price on the ticket. This proposal is made to attract more audience to the theatres.

We have to see how this idea works with the Audience. This proposal practically works only for the first weekend as Audience may not consider coming to a film which achieves a negative response throught the first weekend. It also needs to be seen if this gets implemented throughout the country.
