Sankranthiki Vasthunam Crosses 100 Cr Share In Telugu States

Even as other Sankranthi releases like Game Changer and Daaku Maharaj have slowed down, there’s no stopping for Venkatesh’s Sankranthiki Vasthunam. The film earlier joined the 100 Cr share club worldwide in just 6 days

And now, it has achieved another massive milestone. Today, Sankranthiki Vasthunam has joined the 100 Cr share club in Telugu states as well. It has become the first medium-budget film to join this exclusive club.

This Anil Ravipudi-directed comedy-entertainer is holding well on weekdays as well. The 100 Cr + share includes GST in Andhra and Nizam and the film will also join the 100 Cr club excluding GST within this weekend.

The 2nd weekend is expected to be huge for the film. Worldwide, Sankranthiki Vasthunam is expected to cross the 140 Cr share mark by this weekend itself. Anil Ravipudi confirms Sankranthiki Vasthunam OTT streaming partner

Sankranthiki Vasthunam became a big blockbuster this Sankranthi and also grossed more than 200 crores worldwide. However, the film carried a low profile before the release with no big hype generated. This also had the OTT deal done at the last minute for the makers. The Director of the film, Anil Ravipudi has confirmed about the OTT streaming partner of Sankranthiki Vasthumam now.

The OTT and satellite rights of the film are bought by Zee Group/ZEE5 for a good price. Usually, makers now have made it a habit of announcing the release date of the film only after selling it for OTT platforms. But this happened in reverse for Sankranthiki Vasthunam whose release date was announced even before closing the deal amount.

In the normal cases, mostly films arrive on the OTT platform after 4 weeks of their theatrical run. But Sankranthiki Vasthunam is now expected to make the entry after 6 weeks with a sensational theatrical run that is happening now in the theatres. The film is also poised to touch the 250 crores gross mark worldwide in the final run.

Tollywood Actor Venkatesh is currently enjoying the blockbuster success of his recent flick, Sankranthiki Vasthunam. The film grossed more than 200 crores worldwide stunning all and the team met the media reporters today with a press meet. In the Q&A session conducted there, Venkatesh said that he prefers only White Money as remuneration.

The Actor was questioned about the practice of accepting remuneration in the form of Black Money by the majority of the Actors in the film Industry. This question comes in the wake of the ongoing IT raids conducted on various film celebrities, which also include the producer of Sankranthiki Vasthunam, Dil Raju. However, Venkatesh responded swiftly saying that he doesn’t belong to this category of Actors, and reiterated that he accepts only White Cash as remuneration.

This invited good applause from the media journalists as well for the Actor’s honesty. He also said that he doesn’t demand additional remuneration and receives only what is decided by the makers. In regards to the raids on Dil Raju, Director Anil Ravipudi stated that IT Raids are a common occurrence in the film industry, and added that the Producer is not distressed by the events.

Prabhas’ Kalki 2898 AD is a huge blockbuster with more than 1000 Cr gross collection worldwide. This Nag Ashwin film’s Telugu version emerged as the Non-SSR industry hit with more than 500 Cr gross and once again proved Prabhas’ box-office stamina.

Ram Gopal Varma sentenced to jail

Tollywood Director, Ram Gopal Varma is in trouble. The Director has been sentenced to jail for 3 months in a cheque bounce case by the Mumbai Magistrate Court in Andheri. A non-bailable warrant is also said to have been issued to him regarding the case.

The Director has also responded about the case saying that it was a long case that has been in place for 7 years about an amount of more than 2 lakhs. He also confirmed that his lawyers were attending the case on behalf of him and restricted the matter there noting that it was before the court.

This is not new for the Director to deal with such legal cases. Earlier, Andhra Pradesh Government registered a case against the Director for his behavior in the past targeting Politician Chandrababu Naidu and his family through a political satire film, Vyooham. However, Ram Gopal Varma got bail in this case and we now have to see how he deals with this fresh case.

The game is over for Game Changer. Game Changer, the big-budgeted film which marks the first-ever collaboration of Director Shankar and Ram Charan failed massively at the box office. The film did not satisfy all the people involved and ended up as a high-loss venture. That is why the trade says the game is over for Game Changer.

The film failed to deliver big numbers even on the festival days, and after the Sankranthi festival it completely crashed and now the theatre owners are not even getting the rents and running on deficits. With this, the trade concludes that Game Changer has ended its theatrical run at the box office in less than 2 weeks.
