Akshay Kumar’s Sky Force soars over box office expectations

Bollywood Actor Akshay Kumar met the audience with his Sky Force on 24th January this weekend. The Actor who is in a bad phase with continuous flops surprisingly received a breather with a good opening for the film at the box office. Sky Force managed to rake in close to 13.5 crores Nett in India and also opened with a unanimous positive response from the audience.

In recent times, not only Akshay Kumar but many other Bollywood stars have failed to bring in a large number of audiences to the theatres, especially for non-commercial films. Many films are even struggling to open with a double digit number at the box office. The craze and run of few South Indian films are also deeply hurting Bollywood films.

But Sky Force saw a big jump with this response on Day 2. A 70% in jump is expected on Day 2 which would register a Nett of 23.5 crores. The total Nett for 2 days will be around 37 crores. Today’s performance will be much bigger than Day 2 with the advantage of Sunday. If the film continues the same momentum until next weekend, expect a 200 crore club entry.

This is looking like a jackpot for Akshay Kumar who was reeling under pressure with no solo box office victory. The Actor’s last film, Sarfira became a big disaster and Sky Force will definitely be a refreshing score. He is currently working on multiple films namely, Jolly LLB 3, Housefull 5, Bhooth Bangla, and Hera Pheri 3. All these are exciting projects and surely would offer more for him.

Tollywood Actor Vijay Deverakonda’s upcoming film, tentatively titled VD 14, has officially begun today. The film, directed by Rahul Sankrityan, fame of Shyam Singha Roy and Taxiwaala is produced by Mythri Movie Makers. A set work regarding the film started today with an auspicious Pooja ceremony attended by the crew members.

The film is also said to be a great tale of colonial history, as declared by the Director on his official X/Twitter. The film will also be made on a big-scale budget, highlighting the theme. There are also speculations of Rashmika Mandanna coming on board the film as the female lead.

Currently, Vijay Deverakonda is busy with his VD 12, directed by Gowtham Tinnanuri, fame of Jersey, which is in the final stage of the shoot. The film is also being planned to be released in May for the Summer season. The Actor is hoping to make a big comeback with this film after receiving a jolt with The Family Man last year.

Shocking twist in Saif Ali Khan’s attack case

Bollywood Actor Saif Ali Khan recently sustained injuries after an attack by a perpetrator in his home. The Attacker later escaped from the bungalow and was also caught by the police after an intensified search. Saif, too, was discharged from the hospital. But, it is now learnt that the fingerprint samples of the Attacker don’t match with those found at Saif’s home.

There is a total of 19 samples taken by the forensic team at Saif’s residence, which now doesn’t match the fingerprints of the caught guy. The Police are now considering the facial recognition system captured by the Western Railway to match the identity of the criminal. This is definitely a disappointing news to the Police who have been on a big hunt.

There are also theories on social media that the one who was seen on the CCTV footage at Saif’s residence is different from the person caught by the police. What’s more interesting is the confession of the crime by the caught guy when his fingerprints tell a different story. So, it’s going to be a tough time for the Mumbai Police ahead.

Thalapathy 69, the latest and last film of Kollywood Actor Vijay is officially titled Jana Nayagan. The first look was also released, which showcased Vijay capturing a selfie with a large sized mob gathered. Surprisingly, this first look received a unanimous backlash from a major section of the audience. Many felt that this poster lacked a filmy punch.

Netizens also didn’t connect well with the choice of the title. Jana Nayagan means People’s leader which indicates the political aspiration of Vijay, who has recently ventured into politics with his TVK party. The film and this title also appeared as a publicity campaign for the Actor’s political endeavors.

Fans and Audience expected an entertainer from Vijay but not a political satire from his last film. However, the team could do nothing about it as this indicated Vijay’s involvement. But they should at least concentrate well on the promotional activity and make it a universal film, unlike a political counter. The film is an official remake of Tollywood film, Bhagavanth Kesari, and the title and the first look indicate that the film may not be a dedicated remake.

Kollywood Actor Ajith Kumar was honored with the prestigious Award, Padma Bhushan as declared by the Government of India yesterday. Fans and Audience rejoiced the decision of the Government to recognize the services of Ajith for the past years. But some section of the people feel that he is not fit for the presentation of the Award sparking a heated debate online.

Few netizens have been arguing that Ajith remains not so special and holds same amount of popularity and range of Art services when compared to his contemporaries, Vijay, Vikram, and Suriya. There are also only 4 celebrities from Kollywood who received this honor namely, Sivaji Ganeshan, Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan and Vijayakanth. All these are veterans and considered legends but Ajith is still considered not so great.

Some are also of the opinion that Ajith was honored with this Award to counter Vijay, who entered into politics recently. Actors Balakrishna, Shobhana, and Ananth Nag received this honor along with Ajith. However, the debate is happening only around Ajith. These are just individual opinions and will not affect anything. Kalki 2898 AD sequel script ready

Kalki 2898 AD starring Prabhas was a box office blockbuster. The film grossed more than 1000 crores worldwide, stunning all with its visual feast and extravaganza making. The film also teased the audience with a sequel plan at the end of the film. Director of the film, Nag Ashwin has also revealed that the sequel’s script and preparations are on for the shoot.

The Director opined that the team is waiting for the bulk dates of Prabhas, Kamal Haasan and Amitabh Bachchan, who played the main roles in the film. He also clarified that the film is aiming for release at the end of 2026. Prabhas is currently working for the film directed by Hanu Raghavapudi which was also kick-started recently. The Raja Saab’s shoot is also going on, and he will likely allot the dates after finishing these films.

Producer of the film, Ashwini Dutt revealed that the sequel will be mainly between the three characters, and Deepika Padukone will have a strong presence, as confirmed by him. The film’s budget and span will be higher than the prequel.

Music Legend A.R. Rahman came on board for the RC16 starring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor directed by Buchi Babu, the fame of Uppena. The Maestro came in person for the official launch of the film as well. However, the latest buzz indicated that the Music Director opted out of the film for various reasons, sparking disappointment from fans and audiences. But there is no truth in this as per sources.

Devi Sri Prasad was also speculated to come on board the film replacing Rahman, But Director Buchi Babu spent much time on the film and also had many music sittings with the Music Director. So, Rahman choosing to skip the film may not be true and this could only be a rumor. This is also now confirmed by the close source of the team.

Coming to the film, Peddi is said to be considered the title which is also based on a sports theme. Ram Charan is said to be playing two different roles in the film. The title and Glimpse of the film are expected to be out for Ram Charan’s birthday. Two schedules have already been completed, and the 3rd schedule will also start soon this week. SSMB29 Started Shooting

The craze around SSMB29, the first-ever film in the combination of Superstar Mahesh Babu and India’s Biggest Director SS Rajamouli is growing with each day. The Pre-production works of the film started long back. Mahesh Babu also took part in the workshops from a long time ago.  The latest news is that SSMB29 has started shooting.

As said above, the workshops for this big film were already started and recently, actress Priyanka Chopra joined the team. Now there is a buzz in industry circles that the shoot itself started along with the workshops, and all the rehearsals are done.

According to a few closed sources, Rajamouli’s recent Instagram post itself is an indirect hint at shooting. Reportedly, SSMB29 has started shooting and it is happening currently at the Aluminum Factory. Also, a huge set’s work is happening in RFC. A big portion of SSMB 29 will happen in RFC, and there will be a long schedule planned in Africa, along with many foreign countries.

Rajamouli is putting everything related to the film so private, and most likely he will reveal all the details with an official press meet which is expected to happen after some portion of shooting gets completed. The film is a full-length action-based film, and it is the biggest Indian film to date. The makers of SSMB 29 are targeting the 2027 summer release.
