War 2 OTT: Netflix Silent

Featuring the dynamic duo of Hrithik Roshan and NTR, Yash Raj Films’ War 2 hit theaters in August but fell short at the box office. While its OTT release has been confirmed, the digital streaming partner, Netflix, has yet to make to announce the release of War 2.

As said above, the spy action drama starring NTR and Hrithik Roshan sees a disaster result with a 367 Cr gross collection. The surprising thing is the film failed to get even a minimum number of audiences to theaters for the Telugu version.

Kishkindhapuri OTT Streaming Details

After a series of setbacks, Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas achieved commercial success with the horror thriller Kishkindhapuri. The latest news is that the film is all set to arrive on OTT soon.

Despite facing Mirai in competition, Kishkindhapuri does very well at the box office, collecting in the range of 25 Cr gross and emerging as a super hit, providing the much-needed success for Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas

Featuring Anupama Parameswaran in the lead role, the horror thriller “Kishkindhapuri” will be available for streaming on Z5 starting October 17th. It is expected to get good responses upon its digital release as well.

Koushik Pegallapati, known for Chaavu Kaburu Challaga, directs this film. It is produced by Sahu Garapati of Shine Screens, with music composed by Chaitan Bharadwaj.

Mirai OTT Date Out

After breaking several box office records and still making waves in theaters, Teja Sajja’s Mirai is gearing up for its OTT release soon. The digital rights for the film have been acquired by Jio Hotstar.

The platform announced on its social media that the action-adventure film “Mirai,” starring Teja Sajja, will be available for streaming on OTT starting October 10.

Mirai premieres on OTT next week, with the Hindi version set to stream next month

As said above, the film is a huge blockbuster, collecting more than 140 Cr gross. The South versions will be available for streaming from 10th October. While the Hindi version needs to follow an 8-week theatrical window, it will release on OTT in November.

Directed by Karthik Gattamneni, the film also stars Manchu Manoj, Shriya Saran, Ritika Naya, Jagapathi Babu, Jayaram, and others in crucial roles. Gowra Harish is the film’s music composer.

Dhanush’s Idli Kadai is doing well in Tamil Nadu B&C centers, and it is also holding well in A centers. For 3 days the film has collected 25 Cr gross in Tamil Nadu, and the overall worldwide gross for 3 days will be more than 35 Cr. 

Despite facing tough competition from Kantara Chapter 1, this emotional drama by Dhanush is performing steadily in Tamil Nadu. It needs to maintain this momentum and aim for at least 75 Cr+ gross during its full run, as the majority of its collections are coming from Tamil Nadu alone.

Madharaasi OTT: Anirudh Faces Backlash

Madharaasi, the latest action thriller from Tamil Cinema starring Sivakarthikeyan and directed by AR Murugadoss, is now streaming on Prime Video. During its theatrical release and now on OTT arrival, Madharaasi has one thing in common: Anirudh facing backlash. 

The film did not work much big on theatricals and just collected around 100 Cr gross worldwide; Murgugadoss’s recent form and low buzz have impacted the collections massively. 

The film is receiving a good response on OTT, as most of the viewers felt it is way better than Murugadoss’s recent films. Yes, there are some flaws in the writing or screenplay, but for most audiences it is working. 

However, there is unanimous criticism of Anirudh for his music. There are some blocks that showed the vintage Murugadoss in the film, but they did not work in the way they had to because of the weak background score.

Normally Anirudh always elevates some blocks to a whole new level with his music, but somehow in Madharaasi his work is not impressive and is facing backlash.

Kantara Chapter 1 BMS Trending Sparks Controversy

Kantara Chapter 1 is doing well at the box office and showing a good hold in the entirety of South India. The film is on track for a solid weekend. However, the BMS trend of Kantara has sparked controversy on social media. 

BMS (BookMyShow Ticket Booking App) introduced hourly trending on their platform a few years back. Since then everyone has been using the trending feature as one of the key parameters for a movie’s hold and collections.

If we see Kantara Chapter 1’s BMS trending, it is having an insane trend with selling 60K, 70K, 80K, and even 90K continuously, even on day 2. This trend is bigger than all pan-India films, including Pushpa 2. 

But the film’s numbers are not coming in at that range. For example, yesterday all-India gross for Rishab Shetty’s directorial was 50 Cr, and many films that have collected more than this did not see any massive trend on BookMyShow.

With this, a discussion is happening on the internet, as some sections of trade and movie lovers say that the BMS is exaggerating with hourly sales, while another section says that the movie did not have massive pre-bookings, so all the numbers are coming near the show times.

In a recent interview, producer Naga Vamsi officially said that many producers buy BMS likes and reviews, and he also expressed a doubt about the BMS trending during the release of Mohanlal’s Empuraan time. Now many have joined him, as they also have doubts on the same feature.

Certainly, the biggie, NTR—Neel’s film, can easily achieve the 35 Cr mark with a positive WOM.
