Robinhood Day 2: Box Office Numbers Crash Below Day 1

0

Robinhood, the latest action entertainer starring Nithin and Sreeleela, directed by Venky Kudumula, is facing a big struggle at the box office. After having a poor start on the first day, Robinhood Day 2’s box office numbers crashed below Day 1.

On the opening day, the film just collected in the range of 4 Cr gross. It was a disastrous start for the film. Due to below-par WOM and reviews, on Day 2 it further dropped from that. The early estimates of day 2 gross indicate just around 3 Cr, which takes the total gross to 7 Cr, with a share just around 3 Cr.

If the film does not pick up momentum on festival days on Day 3 and Day 4, it will end up with a single-digit closing share. Robinhood Day 2’s box office numbers crashed below Day 1.

Even though it came with a blockbuster Bheeshma combo, somehow the promotional content of the film completely failed to grab audiences’ attention. Also, it opens with below-par ratings/reviews.

Because of such a bad response, Robinhood completely went down at the box office. Nithin, who expected a comeback with this, but the film is heading towards one of the biggest disasters for him.

Tollywood is Losing the War Against Piracy

0

Tollywood (Telugu Cinema) is already facing big struggles with the OTT market downfall; the satellite market is also getting down. The Hindi dubbing market also has seen a downfall in recent years, and now, Tollywood is losing the war against piracy as well.

Apart from the above-mentioned issues, post-COVID-19, the audiences are not coming to the theaters for all films like before, and they are interested in watching or stepping out of home only for a few selected films.

At this time Telugu Cinema sees another big burden with piracy. The HD prints of the films came out on opening day itself for recent films. Thandel’s makers directly admitted that they were unable to take any stand against piracy, and Di Raju recently addressed this issue and said that all producers need to come out to take an initiative.

Now HD versions of both Robinhood and Mad Square, the latest releases, are out on the net, and netizens are spreading/sharing those links. The producers need to do something with this, as they are already struggling to get the invested amounts, as all businesses are going down.

If piracy increases continually, it will add more burden to them. The Telugu producers need to take a strong stand as Tollywood is losing the war against piracy.

They can even take the help from the government to set up an anti-piracy team and fight against it. The problem with the movie producers is they are addressing this issue only at their movie release time and not bothering about other movies, which is the main concern in this entire issue.

NTR’s Dragon: Sankranthi and Early Summer Out

0

NTR’s Dragon, directed by Prashanth Neel, is the first film to be announced for the 2026 Sankranthi festival release, and 9th January was locked as the release date. The film’s shoot did not start as per plans, and now it is certain that NTR’s Dragon will not be released on Sankranthi or early summer.

NTR – Neel’s Dragon moved from Sankranthi 2026

As said above, the NTR—Neel movie arrived on set late. At first, the team announced it would go on sets in October 2024, but the 1st schedule began in February 2025 last week in Hyderabad. NTR will join the Dragon sets in April.

Due to a delay in shooting, NTR’s Dragon will not be released on Sankranthi or early summer. It clearly opts out of the Sankranthi race. Megastar Chiranjeevi and Ravipudi’s film was announced for Sankranthi 2026.

Huge Competition for Sankranthi 2026

Also, Raviteja’s film is also arriving during the same season, while from Kollywood, Vijay’s Jana Nayagan has also been announced for a Sankranthi/Pongal release along with Sivakarthikeyan’s Parasakthi. A few more Telugu films will also be joining the Sankranthi race.

After Sankranthi, summer is the best release date for Dragon, and it was also said that the team is planning to release the film for summer. However, even the early summer release will also not be an option for the film, as the same production house, Mythri, and Ram Charan’s Peddi are planning for a 26th March release.

Nani’s The Paradise was also announced for the same date. Peddi is also a pan-Indian film. So, definitely, they want a 3–4-week gap between the two biggies. So NTR—Neel’s Dragon is likely to target the April end or May release.

0

Manchu Vishnu shocked audiences with his latest post on social media. The actor took to his X (Twitter) account and announced that his dream project’s release has been delayed, and a new date will be announced soon. With Kannappa’s postponement, the discussion on the film’s box office prospects has started on social media.

25th April was the announced date of this pan-Indian film, and it would have been a very good release date. Now Vishnu and team are missing the summer, and finding a good date in the 2nd half is very tough, as all good release dates are already locked.

Kannappa Postponed: Getting a new good release date will be tough

Kannappa Box Office: Can the Manchu Vishnu’s Dream Project Sustain the Hype?

If we look at the box office perspective, certainly the delay in the release of Kannappa will affect the collections. Two teasers and two songs have been released from the film, and all the characters have also been unveiled, creating some excitement. Now because of the postponement, the promotional material will lose its relevance.

Also, there was some buzz in the industry circles that the film’s non-theatrical business is not closed, and it could also be one of the reasons for postponement.

While the film opened with an outstanding performance at the box office, it has touched very sensitive points that are certainly against a section of people. Now, Empuraan’s team is forced to delete scenes due to controversy.

Right from the FDFS of the film, Hindu people who watched the film were hurt by a few scenes and criticized Mohanlal and Prithviraj for putting such scenes in the film. Of course, the right/left wings across media and social media have been divided in this matter, as a few support and a few oppose the film.

Empuraan Controversy:

Huge controversy has erupted over Empuraan, as the right-wing organization in Kerala and RSS mouthpiece Organiser have criticized the film, accusing it of pushing an anti-Hindu political agenda.

What is the reason behind the Controversy around Empuraan?

Controversy arises from the film’s portrayal of the 2002 Gujarat riots, seemingly targeting Hindus and India’s ruling party. BJP-RSS supporters reacted strongly, criticizing the film on social media. A call to boycott Empuraan has spread among followers, who accuse it of being politically biased.

Due to this raging issue, Mohanlal’s Empuraan’s team is forced to delete scenes due to controversy. The makers themselves have now come forward to re-edit the film and re-censor it. As per Malayalam news channels, 17 scenes will be either edited or muted, and a revised version will come out next week.

Empuraan’s Writer Stays Nuetral

Empuraan writer Murali Gopy took a neutral stance, refusing to engage in the debate. “I will keep total silence on the controversy. Let them fight it out. Everyone has the right to interpret the film in their own way,” he told the media.

Veera Dheera Soora Part 2: An intense action drama with slight drag

0

Movie Name: Veera Dheera Soora Part 2
Rating: 2.75/5
Cast:
Vikram, Dushara Vijayan, SJ Suryah and Suraj Venjaramoodu
Director: S U Arun Kumar
Produced By:
Riya Shibu
Release Date: 27th March 2025

Veera Dheera Soora—Part 2 features Chiyaan Vikram in a rural action drama directed by S.U. Arun Kumar. Curiosity arose from the film’s unusual title—Part 2—despite the absence of Part 1 and faced issues before it’s theatrical arrival as well. It’s a sequel that comes before the prequel. Let’s check it out and see if it matches the curiosity in our review.

Story:

In Veera Dheera Soora: Part 2, Kaali (Vikram) has moved on from his past as a henchman and runs a Kirana/General store and lives with his family. During the village Jathara night, his former boss Ravi (30 Years Prudhvi) asks for help to safeguard his son Kannan (Suraj Venjaramoodu) from SP Arunagiri’s (SJ Suryah) encounter plan. Will Kaali embrace his dark past to help Kannan and Ravi? The story centers on what unfolds at night.

Performances:

Chiyaan Vikram impresses in the character of Kaali. He neither overdoes nor underplays the role and gives a perfect act. SJ Suryah is good as the bad police, and this time he displays a subtle performance. Sura Venjaramood is too good, and he effortlessly shows the menace in required scenes. 30 Years Prudhvi plays a meaty role, and he does a good job. Dushara Vijayan makes her presence felt while the other supporting actors are also good.

Analysis:

Director Arun Kumar opens the film with the main conflict and gradually introduces the key characters. One can feel the stylized touch throughout, with certain episodes giving the great rush and a few feeling a bit sluggish. This mass film features an unusual and creative interval sequence that arrives during a simple scene.

The backstory in the second half delivers and ends on a high note with a superb episode. The tension continues to build, and action parts work effectively at the pre-climax and climax, with the latter dragging for a while. The film delivers a satisfying ending with a simple emotional scene. One may expect more highs or a bit fast paced narration for this genre, but still, the director makes it up with his neat taking.

Positives:

  • Performances
  • Mostly Engaging Screenplay
  • Action Episodes
  • Visuals/Background Score

Negatives:

  • Lack of Expected Highs/Thrills
  • Lags Occasionally

Veera Dheera Soora Part 2 Movie Review and Verdict:

Veera Dheera Soora Part 2 impresses with its intense action and convincing performances. While the straightforward story and boring scenes detract from it, it’s still enjoyable.
