After Jailer 2, Nelson and Rajinikanth Plan Another Big Collaboration

Jailer 2 is currently in its shooting phase, and the movie is slated for 2026 release. While the fans await updates from the team, the latest buzz says that Rajinikanth and Nelson are set to collaborate again after Jailer 2. 

According to reports, director Nelson narrated a new script to Superstar Rajinikanth during the making of Jailer 2, which left the actor highly impressed. The two are expected to team up again after Rajinikanth finishes his upcoming project with Kamal Haasan.

In the meantime, Nelson is likely to direct a film with NTR before reuniting with Rajinikanth for their next massive biggie.

So, in all probability, the Nelson-Rajinikanth combo is likely to join hands again in 2028 after Jailer 2.

Released in 2023, Jailer became a massive box office hit, and expectations for its sequel are through the roof. There’s no question that if the actor and director team up again, the film will generate enormous excitement among audiences.

Lokah: Chapter 1 Chandra, the sensational blockbuster, has already become the no. 1 grosser in Kerala, in India, and a worldwide industry hit for Mollywood. Now, Lokah smashes 120 Cr in Kerala and eyes a historic milestone this weekend.

Dominic Arun’s directorial hit grossed 120 Cr in Kerala, and its total worldwide gross was around 229.5 Cr till yesterday. It is all set to achieve the epic 300 Cr milestone for Mollywood this weekend.

For Kollywood, Mohanlal’s Puli Murugan created the record of the 1st 100 Cr mark worldwide, followed by Manjummel Boys, which set the 1st 200 Cr mark, and now Loka reaches the 120 Cr mark in Kerala and is all set to achieve the outstanding record of becoming the 1st 300 Cr grosser of Malayalam cinema.

Kantara Chapter 1 Beats Coolie – 2025’s Top South Indian Grosser

Kantara Chapter 1 joined the 500 Cr grossers’ club yesterday, becoming the 4th Indian film to do so in 2025, and today, by beating Coolie’s lifetime gross (520 Cr), it became the biggest South Indian grosser this year as well.

On the opening day and 1st weekend, Rajinikanth’s Coolie maintains a big lead over Kantara Chapter as it had the biggest opening and biggest weekend for Indian cinema this year. But after the weekend the film crashes, whereas the Kantara prequel maintains a strong hold.

For the first week, Kantara Chapter 1 sets the milestone this year, and within 10 days, it surpasses Coolie’s full run collections and emerges as the top 3 grosser for this year in Indian movies. 

Tomorrow the film will cross Saiyaara and will settle at the top 2, but to reach the top 1 position, the film needs to maintain a stronghold for at least another two weeks, as Chhaava, which is in the first place, collected 800 Cr gross.

Director Ravi Kiran Kola, under Dil Raju’s production, has signed Vijay Deverakonda’s next project. The film, titled Rowdy Janardhan, held its pooja ceremony today, and the team officially announced that Keerthy Suresh will be pairing up with Vijay Deverakonda for the first time in this project.

This movie is the biggest project for Keerthy Suresh after her marriage. She was last seen in Uppu Kappurambu, a Prime Video Original featuring Suhas. OG Telugu Beats Devara Telugu in USA, But Devara Leads Overseas

The overseas box office comparison between NTR’s Devara and Pawan Kalyan’s OG was pertinent right from the beginning. OG beats Devara in the Telugu version, but Devara leads the overall overseas collections.

Pawan Kalyan’s OG’s Total North America grossed $5.55M, whereas the Hindi version has just collected $42K. The Telugu version’s gross is close to $5.51M. With this, OG surpasses Devara’s Telugu version ($5.5M) at the North American box office.

They Call Him OG is the 7th biggest grosser for North America in Tollywood for the Telugu version. But if we compare all the languages, Devara has a clear lead over OG in America, as the Hindi version also contributed to the numbers of NTR-Koratala Film. 

Total Devara all languages North America gross stands at $6.07M, with the Hindi version contributing $562K and the Tamil version $15K, which takes the total overseas lead of the film to more than 1.5 million dollars over OG.

Devara’s total overseas collections are at 9 million, while OG’s overseas collections are close to 7.5M.
