0

Hero Nithiin is going through a tough phase in his career after a series of big flops. However, he is determined to make a strong comeback. According to reports, Nithiin is currently in talks with Little Hearts director Sai Marthand for his next project.

Earlier, Nithiin had committed to Yellamma and another film with director Vikram Kumar. But both projects have now been put on hold or shelved due to budget constraints.

At present, Nithiin is listening to new scripts from young writers and directors. During this process, Sai Marthand, who recently delivered a blockbuster with Little Hearts, is said to have narrated a complete story to the actor.

Reportedly, Nithiin really liked the script, and this project is likely to be his next film.

This seems like a smart move for the actor. Instead of opting for big-budget films, choosing entertaining projects with reasonable budgets could help him regain his form. Moreover, Sai Marthand has built a promising reputation among audiences with Little Hearts, so expectations for his next film are quite high.

Kantara Chapter 1 Overtakes Saiyaara – Now in Top 2 of 2025

0

The spiritual action drama acted and directed by Rishab Shetty, Kantara Chapter 1, is breaking many records with each passing day, and lately the film has overtaken Bollywood’s blockbuster, Saiyaara, and has become the Top 2 film at the 2025 box office.

Chhaava, with 800 Cr gross collections; Saiyaara, with 565 Cr gross; and Coolie, with 520 Cr gross, are the top 3 grossers of Indian cinema in 2025 before the Kantara prequel’s release.

For 10 days, Kantara Chapter 1 has broken many records, and with 550 Cr+ gross collections, it crossed Coolie’s lifetime collections yesterday, and today the film surpasses Saiyaara’s full run collections, claiming the 2nd biggest grosser spot of the year.

By today, the film will be in the range of 600 Cr. From tomorrow, the film needs to collect 200 Cr+ gross to reach the no. 1 position, and we should wait and see whether Kantara’s prequel can claim the no. 1 position.

If Rishab Shetty’s spiritual action drama can achieve the no. 1 place, then it will settle as the no. 1 for 2025, as there is no massive film in the rest of this year.

Kantara Chapter 1 becomes 16th film to 500 Cr gross in India

Kantara Chapter 1 has joined the 500 Cr club in India by today, becoming the 16th film to do so. On its 11th day, the worldwide gross reached the 600 Cr range. The film is having a fantastic run at the box office.

Films that have grossed 500 Cr in India

  1. Baahubali (2015)
  2. Dangal (2016)
  3. Baahubali2 (2017)
  4. 2PointO (2018)
  5. RRR (2022)
  6. KGF2 (2022)
  7. Pathaan (2023)
  8. Gadar2 (2023)
  9. Jawan (2023)
  10. Animal (2023)
  11. Salaar (2023)
  12. Kalki 2898 AD (2024)
  13. Stree 2 (2024)
  14. Pushpa 2 (2024)
  15. Chhaava (2025)
  16. Kantara Chapter 1 (2025)

Prabhas leads the list with 4 films, while in directors, Rajamouli is leading with 3 films.

The pre-release buzz was somewhat underwhelming for a sequel movie, and the reason for a mid buzz is the team’s low-profile promotions. If the production house, Hombale Films, had released proper promotional content, like songs and mini teasers, it would have had solid buzz.

Nevertheless, Rishab Shetty’s spiritual action drama Kantara Chapter 1 is emerging as one of the massive blockbusters, as it became the 16th film to cross the 500 Cr gross mark in India.

The trade expects the film to utilize the Diwali festival days and mint as much money as it can.

Dhanush Signs a Historical Epic

0

Recently, Dhanush released Idli Kadai, achieving moderate numbers in Tamil and almost none in Telugu. The news is that Dhanush will star in a historic epic by Mari Selvaraj.

Bison, directed by Mari Selvaraj and starring Dhruv Vikram, will release on Diwali, October 17, in Tamil and October 24 in Telugu.

Mari Selvaraj’s next film will be with Dhanush, set under a historical backdrop, and the story was narrated to the actor a long time ago.

The VIP actor was initially set to produce it himself. But now, the project will be produced by Vels Films International. The film’s work will begin soon, and they planned it as a grand, big-budget historical drama.

The actor-director combination joined hands before for a sensational blockbuster, Karnan, and is set for a much bigger film next.

Andhra King Taluka: A Refreshing Treat for Youth

0

Ram Pothineni and P. Mahesh Babu’s Andhra King Taluka teaser has been released today, and it looks impressive. The video gives a short yet sweet hint about the film’s story.

It’s a complete transformation for Ram, who looks cool and charming in a boy-next-door character. His chemistry with Bhagyashri lights up the screen, making this one a delightful watch backed by the soulful tunes of Vivek and Mervin.

The last dialogue of the Andhra King Taluka teaser hits hard as it tells the harsh truth about movies and heroes, fans. Now all signs point to a winner on November 28.

Nowadays, big heroes and even tier-2 heroes are taking on larger-than-life roles. The audiences are missing regular entertainers and hero characters who they can relate to.

Finally, Ram is coming up with a film that features a regular teenager, along with cinema, love, and fights.

Hanuman Missed It: OG Too

0

Pawan Kalyan’s OG is entering its last leg of the theatrical run, but the film is most likely to miss the 300 Cr gross point, just like Teja Sajja’s HanuMan.

Released on Sankranti 2024, Teja Sajja and Prasanth Varma’s HanuMan, the sensational blockbuster, collected 294 Cr gross in its full run, and it came very close to the 300 Cr mark but missed the milestone.

Now Pawan Kalyan’s OG is running in its 3rd weekend at the box office, and the film’s worldwide gross is around 285 Cr. Even though next weekend has the advantage of Diwali, there are many films set to release on the weekend.

Dude, K-Ramp, Mitra Mandali, and Telusu Kada are releasing for Diwali, and Kantara Chapter 1 is already running with better occupancies than Sujeeth’s film.

So, collecting 15 Cr from here might be a very tough task for OG, and it is most likely to end up like Hanuman with around 295 Cr closing. If Diwali releases fail to impress audiences, then there is an outside chance for the film to achieve the 300 Cr, but it’s a hard task.
