Suriya Pairing Up with Mrunal Thakur

Suriya is currently busy promoting his upcoming film Kanguva, with the second single having been released today. Meanwhile, the actor’s next film, Suriya 44, has already completed shooting and is in post-production, eyeing a summer 2025 release.

Backing Suriya’s next project is Dream Warriors Pictures, a banner known for producing critically acclaimed films. Their next venture, Suriya 45, was recently launched with a traditional puja ceremony. This untitled project is said to be the production house’s most expensive film to date, marking a major milestone in its impressive portfolio.

R.J. Balaji, recognized for his humorous films, is set to direct Surya 45, a high-budget action adventure. Currently focused on pre-production, Balaji will lead the project with the support of Academy Award-winning composer A.R. Rahman, who will score the music.

The movie is supposed to begin this November and may be released during the latter half of 2025. Suriya 45 is a devotional fantasy entertainer with an impressive star cast, including Mrunal Thakur and Rukmini Vasanth in lead roles. The film promises to feature top-tier technicians and aims to leave a lasting impact on audiences and music lovers alike.

Amazon Prime Video to Introduce Ads in 2025

Advertisements which steadily increased on traditional TV,  are now making their way into the digital streaming space. Amazon Prime Video is all set to introduce advertisements in its content starting in 2025. This decision comes in line with Amazon’s ongoing investment in producing high-quality content while maintaining a diverse range of options for its viewers.

The company has reassured users that the advertisements will not disrupt the viewing experience. According to Amazon, there will be “meaningfully fewer ads” compared to traditional TV and other streaming platforms. The ads will be limited in nature to ensure they don’t overwhelm the viewer.

In addition to introducing ads, Amazon Prime Video will also offer an ad-free subscription option for those who prefer uninterrupted viewing. However, details regarding the pricing for this ad-free experience will be revealed at a later time.

For now, there are no immediate changes to the current cost of Prime membership, and the company has assured users that they will be informed several weeks before the ads go live. This will include instructions on how to opt for the ad-free version of the service if preferred.

Jigra Director deletes his X/Twitter Account

Jigra starring Alia Bhatt released recently and became a big box office disaster. The film managed to gross just more than 20 crores worldwide against a big budget of around 80 crores. After the box office disastrous result, Director of the film, Vasan Bala has reportedly deleted his X/Twitter Account. This has shocked everyone now.

The Director has engaged in an aggressive activity on his X/Twitter Account after the film’s release. He had also replied and countered many people’s judgement about the film. But as the film didn’t manage to score well, the Director must have realised his mistake and has gone missing now. His X/Twitter Account is no longer available.

Jigra was produced by Karan Johar under his Dharma Productions. The promotions were also done in Hyderabad for the Telugu dubbed version. But these couldn’t save the film and it became a big embarrassment for all. Alia Bhatt has neither spoken about the film’s result nor on Vasan Bala’s Account deactivation. We have to see how she would respond in the future.

Dharma Productions is one of the biggest Production houses of Bollywood owned by Karan Johar. The Production House has also collaborated with many reputed films in the recent past years as well. Now, Dharma Productions has collaborated with Serene Productions owned by Adar Poonawalla where he will be investing an amount of 1000 crores.

Adar Poonawalla will own a 50% stake in Dharma Productions with this pact which will take the total investment value to 2000 crores. Talking about the partnership, Poonawalla said that he was delighted to have had the opportunity to partner with one of the most iconic production houses in the nation. He also hoped to build and grow Dharma Productions and also scale even greater heights in the years to come.

Karan Johar also expressed his happiness over the collaboration. He said, “Today, we join the forces wih Adar, a close friend and an exceptional visionary and innovator, we’re poised to elevate Dharma’s legacy to new heights. Tollywood Actor Allu Arjun took part in an election campaign for his friend who represents YSR Congress Party of AP a few months ago. This became a controversial incident then with many people supporting and objecting his act on social media platforms. A case has also been registered his for campaign process. Now, it is learnt that Allu Arjun has applied a petition in the High Court to dismiss the case against him.

Allu Arjun’s friend contested as an MLA from Nandyal Constituency in AP in the elections which were conducted in April this year. This unknowingly became an violation since there was an election code not to conduct any large sized events. Some people went to the court for this against Allu Arjun.

NBK109: Record pre-business for Balakrishna

Tollywood Actor Balakrishna teamed up with Director Bobby for their film, tentatively titled, NBK109. The film is currently under shoot and also been announced as Sankranthi release. Title and teaser are also gearing up for release on Diwali. Now, it is learnt that NBK109 is having a record pre-business in Balakrishna’s career.

In AP, 6 territories business is happening at 38-40 crore ratio. The total Telugu States rights business is said to be in the range of 75 crores and worldwide business is near 90 crores. This is by far the biggest business film for Balakrishna. The Actor is yet to score a 100 crore share film. There are high chances of pulling this feat with NBK109 if everything goes well.

Sankranthi festival may also help NBK109 to achieve a positive talk. Balakrishna has also recently lined up Akhanda 2 directed by Boyapati Srinu. This film will start shoot in a short while. It may establish even more big records in terms of pre-business and theatrical run.

Vettaiyan poor 2nd weekend marks it as a flop

Vettaiyan starring Rajinikanth had a decent 1st weekend performance at the box office. But it failed to sustain the speed from the first Monday. Vettaiyan managed to collect around 210 crores in the 1st week. In the 2nd weekend as well, it failed to witness a big jump going very flat. For 11 days the film gross is expecte to be around 235 crores. Vettaiyan’s poor 2nd weekend performance indicates the film should be marked a flop.

Vettaiyan may end up its run well behind 250 crores worldwide. The breakeven mark for worldwide box office is around 325 crores. So, the film’s final recovery could be around 75%. The Telugu version recovery is also only 2/3rd of the pre-release business for the buyers. Vettaiyan’s Telugu version is a flop already.

Rajinikanth faced back to back setbacks this year with Lal Salaam in the beginning and with Vettaiyan now. He is also decided to compensate the Production house, Lyca Productions with one more film starring for a less remuneration. But, his upcoming film, Coolie directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj will break many exisiting records at the box office.
