Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan turned the clapper board for the grand launch of the M.S. Subbulakshmi biopic, held at The Music Academy in Chennai on Wednesday. The film, which stars Rashmika Mandanna as the legendary Carnatic vocalist, was launched to mark the 110th birth anniversary of M.S. Subbulakshmi.
Titled M.S. — A Legacy On Screen, the film is directed by Gautam Tinnanuri, best known for Jersey, with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander. The project is jointly produced by Allu Aravind, Bunny Vas and Rockline Venkatesh under the banners Geetha Arts, BV Works and Rockline Entertainments.
The launch event was a fitting tribute to the Bharat Ratna awardee, featuring a live performance of M.S. Subbulakshmi’s iconic songs by the Indian Choral Ensemble. Guests followed an “MS Blue” dress code for the occasion.
Rashmika Mandanna, dressed in an elegant saree, thanked the team for the opportunity to portray the singer on screen.
With Kamal Haasan’s presence adding stature to the launch, expectations are high for this prestigious biopic. More details on the cast and shooting schedule are expected to be revealed in the coming days.
