‘Thala’ Ajith starrer Valimai is gearing up for a grand release later this year. The movie, which still has one schedule left and has generated massive buzz in Kollywood. Adding to the buzz, it is now revealed that Valimai rights have been sold for a record amount. Madurai based Gopuram films have bought entire TN rights for a whopping Rs 72 crores. This is the highest pre-release business for a movie post-Corona lockdown.
Producer Boney Kapoor made the announcement on Twitter confirming the news. Amidst massive pressure from fans he had earlier announced that the first look of the movie will be released on May 1st on the occasion of Ajith’s birthday.
Directed by H Vinoth, Valimai stars Huma Qureshi and Karthikeya Gummakonda. Yuvan Shankar Raja is scoring the music.

Chaavu Kaburu Challaga on OTT soon?
With the advent of OTTs, its not taking long for the movies to digitally premiere within days of release. If the movie runs successfully, all’s well. But in the case of a failure in theatrical run, its a double whammy for the producer. Recently released Chaavu Kaburu Challaga is one such movie that has brought this situation for producer Allu Aravind.
The movie failed to attract the audience and it is being reported that this romantic comedy will soon premier Aha. Starring Karthikeya and Lavanya Tripathi, Chaavu Kaburu Challaga will premiere on Aha on the 16th of April. The movie released on March 19th amidst negative talk.
Directed by Peggalapati Koushik, the film was panned by critics as well. Incidentally, Allu Aravind is the founder of Aha which is managed under Arha Broadcasting Pvt Ltd.
#Nithiin30 first look and title revealed
On the occasion of his birthday, the makers of Nithiin’s upcoming movie released #Nithiin30 first look and title. Titled ‘Maestro’ #Niithiin30 is a remake of 2018 Ayushman Khurana starter Andhadhun. Andhadhun was a massive success in Hindi and won 3 National awards. The film won the best film and screenplay while Ayushman received the Best Actor that year.
Maestro is the story of a blind pianist who unintentionally gets caught in a murder mystery. What happens next is the crux of the film.
Nabha Natesh and Tamannah co-star in this crime comedy thriller. While Nabha will be essaying Radhika Apte’s role, Tamannah is slated to play Tabu’s character. Directed by Merlapaka Gandhi, the thriller will be releasing on June 11th.
Nithiin meanwhile is on a signing spree already had 2 releases this year. While Chandrasekhar Yeleti’s Check didn’t perform well at the box office, his recent release RangDe has registered good numbers.
Pawan Kalyan’s character to blow you away
The trailer of Vakeel Saab dropped in yesterday and Powerstar’s screen presence and dialogues have blown everyone away. The trailer is also breaking multiple records in terms of likes and views and is going strong.
According to inside info, Pawan Kalyan’ s character is going to one of the USP of the movie.
His role in this courtroom drama is totally different from the other versions of the film. It is quite evident from the trailer that Venu Sriram has taken special care of fans demands. He has made sure to include additional elements and has balanced the mass elements with the movie’s central message.
Some special fight sequences have been incorporated in the film which will be the highlight of the film. The characterization of Pawan Kalyan is already being compared to some of his iconic yesteryear hits and if the trailer is anything to go by, we are going to see the vintage Power Star in a matter of a week.

Record business for Rana starrer
Rana starrer Virata Parvam’s trailer has garnered great appreciation from all quarters. Written and directed by Venu Udugulla, this period drama is now doing record-breaking pre-release business as well.
Warangal Srinu has bagged the Nizam rights for whopping Rs 6.4 crores. It is being reported that the Andhra region rights have been sold for around Rs 10 crores. The worldwide rights are expected to be in excess of Rs 20 crores. This is indeed a record of sorts for a Rana starter movie and never has it happened in his career spanning a decade.
Virata Parvam is based on the Naxalite movement that took place in Telangana in the 1990s. Nandita Das, Priyamani, Nivetha Pethuraj, and Naveen Chandra are playing key roles in this Suresh Productions project. Majority of the shooting took place in the forests of Vikarabad, Warangal and Kerala. This Sai Pallavi and Rana starter project is scheduled to release on 30th April.
Title confirmed for Chiranjeevi movie?
Megastar Chiranjeevi who is busy completing the shooting of Acharya is not planning to slow down anytime soon. Post Acharya, Chiranjeevi will join the shoot of Malayalam blockbuster Lucifer’s remake. The remake is being helmed by Mohan Raja.
Chiranjeevi will also soon start shooting for the untitled film being directed by Bobby. It is being reported that the movie will be titled Veerayya and will be set against a rural backdrop. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film will go on floors in late summer, soon after Acharya hits the screens on May 13. Whether the title is just a rumour or is it confirmed, we’ll know for sure pretty soon.
It is also being reported that makers approached Sonakshi Sinha for the female lead role but the actress is yet to confirm. The details regarding the rest of the supporting cast and crew will be announced soon. The movie is expected to go on floors in July.

In another positive news for the Wild Dog team, the release of Gopichand starrer SeetiMaarr has been pushed. Initially, SeetiMaarr was also set to release on 2nd. Now Wild Dog will have direct competition only with Karthi’s Sulthan.
