What Intelligence, Anirudh?

0

Despite mixed reviews, Coolie, featuring Rajinikanth, is raking in the cash at the box office. But the viewers raise questions about the content, and they fire on Anirudh for claiming Coolie is an intelligent flick.

One major flaw with Coolie is how the unit failed to set clear expectations about the movie.

Lokesh and the team stirred up massive excitement among fans by choosing stars from all over Indian cinema and unveiling a sneak peek featuring some stylish watches.

Fans anticipated a totally unique film from Lokesh Kanagaraj, similar to Kaithi and Vikram, something the director mentioned in his interviews.

Anirudh over hypes Coolie – Faces Criticism from Fans

Wenever music director Anirudh is a part of a film, the public eagerly awaits his feedback on the film.

Anirudh, in the interviews, said that Coolie is a sure-shot blockbuster, and he will give 10 cups for it. Also, Anirudh continuously told Coolie is an intelligent film.

Audiences are scratching their heads about what intelligence Anirudh saw in the movie because it has several plot holes and character issues.

Everyone feels that the script is nothing special; it’s just like a regular commercial film.

Hype Drops for Mass Jathara

0

Mass Jathara, starring Raviteja, is failing to maintain the craze among audiences. Lately, the film’s release date has been postponed again. The hype drops for Mass Jathara in recent days.

The makers promised that this film will bring back the vintage Raviteja after a long time and it will be a complete mass entertainer. The first glimpse and initial song, Tu Mera Lover, worked well and created a good buzz on the film.

Mass Jathara Promotional Content Fails To Maintain The Buzz

But the film’s continuous postponements brought down the hype, and at the same time, the second single, Ole Ole, faced criticism for the lyrics.

Mainly the teaser, which was released a few days ago, backfired, which lessened Mass Jathara’s buzz, which was created until now. Even Raviteja faces criticism from audiences after the teaser.

Now the latest news is that the movie is getting postponed again, and the new date is yet to be locked.

With all these, the movie’s hype drops in a big way. Nowadays hype plays a big role in a film’s business and collections, especially for medium budget films.

The team needs to come up with solid promotional content from now on to revive the buzz on Mass Jathara.

NTR and Nagarjuna, What Was the Need?

0

NTR is enjoying the peak phase of his career, building on consistent success over the last decade. With RRR, his craze went pan-India, and he proved what a big star he is with Devara. Devara had a massive opening, and even though it received mixed WOM (word-of-mouth), the film collected over ₹400 Cr gross and performed well in Hindi too. NTR also has many big-budget films in the pipeline.

However, he suddenly signed War 2, which everyone considered a huge risk. The YRF Spy series wasn’t strong in content, audiences had started disconnecting from it, and it was expected not to work well for Telugu audiences. Fans thought that War 2 would be strong on content, and that NTR was targeting Hindi audiences with action and style.

As expected War 2 is just a regular spy series film, and it was even the weakest in that series. Story-wise and performance-wise, neither Hrithik nor NTR had much to deliver. The film recorded the lowest opening of NTR’s career in Telugu—something unprecedented. The Telugu version collecting even ₹100 Cr gross seemed impossible, showing how poorly the movie performed with Telugu audiences. The Hindi version also underperformed, and trade experts expected it wouldn’t generate much after the weekend, closing under Tiger 3 on the Hindi belt.

This shows that NTR didn’t achieve the intended results, and he likely doesn’t need to target Hindi audiences separately with a Bollywood-style film, as they are already enjoying South commercial films. NTR still has Dragon in hand, which will likely perform well in Hindi. Whatever the motive behind War 2, it was clearly a misstep.

The same applies to Nagarjuna. He still has a strong market but needs to choose the right films and combinations, even if it’s late, like Venkatesh is doing now. Alternatively, he can select roles on par with leading actors, like Aravind Swamy did in Dhruva. Fans and audiences are still shocked by what Nagarjuna did across seven narrations and how he convinced everyone with the Simon character.

Although Nagarjuna may not have the market strength he once had, it hasn’t completely faded. He is far ahead of actors like Jagapati Babu and Srikanth and can still do what Venkatesh is doing now, making films like Manam, Oopri, or Soggade Chinni Nayana.

NTR and Nagarjuna took the biggest career mistakes at the same time, and the results are evident. Hopefully, this will serve as a significant lesson for them.

Kids/grandsons of heroes or other big people in the Telugu film industry is not a new thing. The latest buzz is that Teja’s son and the late Superstar Krishna’s granddaughter are about to make their debut together.

Director Teja is going through a tough phase in his career, with his recent two films, Sita and Ahimsa, failing at the box office. He had plans for Rakshasha Raja as a sequel to Nene Raju Nene Mantri with Rana, but it got shelved.

Director Teja’s Son, Amitov to make his debut as a Hero

Reports confirm the Jayam director will introduce his son Amitov as a hero. The lead role in this film goes to Bharathi, daughter of Ramesh Babu and granddaughter of the late Superstar Krishna.

Fans will be excited to see superstar Krishna’s granddaughter making her debut alongside director Teja’s son.

More details are expected to come out regarding this project soon.

Coolie Two Days Box Office Collections

Despite mixed WOM, Coolie held well on Day 2 with the help of the Independence Day holiday. In two days, the film has collected ₹245 Cr gross worldwide.

In overseas, the film collected more than ₹100 Cr gross, taking the total worldwide gross to ₹245 Cr.The film needs to collect ₹600 Cr+ gross to achieve breakeven worldwide. To reach that, it must hold strong momentum over the weekend. The film should target ₹400 Cr+ gross by the weekend, as posting big numbers after the weekend with this WOM and reviews will be tough.

Day 2 Box Office: War 2 Surpasses Coolie Across India

0

Rajinikanth’s Coolie and Hrithik Roshan-NTR’s War 2 clashed at the box office this Independence Day. Both the movies did not receive the expected response from the audiences. War 2 surpasses Coolie across India on Day 2.

On the opening day, Coolie took the lead in India and overseas and collected more than 150 Cr worldwide, while the sequel of War collected close to 85 Cr gross.

On Day 2 War 2 takes the lead over Coolie in India, and the reason is the jump in Hindi markets for the former. The all-India estimates for Day 2 for War 2 are more than 65 Cr gross, whereas Rajini’s film’s estimates are close to 60 Cr.

There is only a minor difference between both films’ final numbers on the second day in India, but if we see only the Telugu version, then Coolie had a slight lead over War 2 today, which is definitely surprising.

Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Magic Over Logic

0

Lokesh Kanagaraj gathered a good fan base (including Telugu audiences) with blockbuster films like Kaithi and Vikram. However, Lokesh Kanagaraj missing the logic in many scenes in Coolie, his latest film starring Rajinikanth, has disappointed everyone.

There are some directors, for example, pure mass directors who take the cinematic liberaties putting all the logics aside, and people will also do not mind those directors and enjoy their films according to their vision.

Lokesh Kanagarja Disappoints His Fans With Coolie

For those directors’ films, audineces go with a prepared mindset. But a director like Lokesh Kanagaraj is not expected to go in such commercial way, as he is regarded as the one who always writes the scenes and movie with clear detailing with proper logic.

But in his latest movie, Coolie, starring Superstar Rajinikanth, he somehow went with magic and did not bother about logic, which is heavilyy criticised by the audiences and his fans as well.

There are many loopholes Coolie, as many scenes come and go without proper logic. If we observe, there will be no clear agenda for any chatacter in the film,  including Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna , Soubin, Aamir khan, Upendra, and Satyaraj.

Netizens Question The Plotholes/Logic in Coolie: Lokesh Kanagaraj Under Fire

The characters behave differently in different scenes. For every scene, every cameo , songs and Fights Lokesh Kanagaraj took a lot of liberty to showcase over the top herosim which disappointed audiences, and they feel it weakest film in the career of Kaithi director.

Most of the audiences did not expect a regular revenge dram film from Lokesh Kanagaraj. Especially with such spectacular cast, everyone felt something surprising will be their in the film despite the trailer looking regular.

May be Lokesh thought that Rajinikanth’s stardom needs such kind of heroism and highs scenes, and that is why gave more preference to commercial scenes rather than a good or interesting storyline.

War 2 Day 2: Hindi Up, Telugu Down

0

NTR and Hrithik Roshan’s War 2 was released in theaters amidst big expectations on its box office performance. The film received mixed WOM/reviews, which was reflected in its first-day collections. Coming to Day 2, War 2 performs well in Hindi but goes down in Telugu.

The Hindi version of War’s sequel opened with 28 Cr net in India, and it showed a good jump over day 1 with the help of the Independence holiday advantage. The jump is said to be around 50%, with the estimates being around 41 Cr net in India.

War 2 Shows Good Growth In Hindi On Day 2

Still, the movie is trending below the initial expectations, as everyone expected that the opening day of War 2 would be 50 Cr+, and the 2nd day was expected to collect the biggest figure ever for Bollywood.

However, the weak pre-release buzz and unfavorable reviews resulted in numbers that are not on the expected levels. Having said that, a 50% jump in numbers will provide some relief for the team.

War 2’s Telugu Version Slows Down: The Hindi Version Needs To Show Good Hold Over The Weekend

Coming to the Telugu version, the spy action drama’s Day 2 collections will be lesser than the opening day. On the opening day, the film benefitted from special shows in Andhra Pradesh with flat 500 ticket prices, which played a major role in the opening numbers, and hires were also an added advantage.

But on day 2, there are only regular shows, and the occupancies are also a bit low compared to day 1. The Telugu version’s Day 2 gross is expected to be close to 15 Cr.

So, ultimately, War 2’s collections are good in Hindi on day 2, but the Telugu version is not up to the mark. The total India gross for the second day is similar to the opening day, i.e., in the 62 Cr range. Overall, the film’s two-day all-India gross will be 125 Cr, with the worldwide gross being more than 155 Cr.
