Robert to stream in Telugu from 30th April

Kannada star Darshan’s recent release Robert is all set for its digital premiere today. This premiere will although be only of the Kannada version. The Telugu version will be streaming online from 30th April. Amazon Prime Video has acquired the rights for the action- thriller.

Robert released on 11th March to mixed reviews from critics. While the Kannada version performed decently, the Telugu dubbed version found no takers in the two Telugu states. The film ended up as a disaster in both AP and Telangana. Roberrt also featured Jagapathi Babu, Ravi Kishan, Vinod Prabhakar and debutant Asha Bhat.

The film follows the story of Raghava (Darshan) whose simple life takes a turn when his son Arjun’s behaviour gets him in trouble with a gangster. This Darshan starrer is produced by Umapathy Srinivasa Gowda under the banner of Umapathy Films.

Balayya- Gopichand project going on in full swing

The pre-production works of the untitled Balayya-Gopichand Mallineni film are going on in full swing. According to sources, Balayya has approved the line narrated by the ‘Krack’ director. Gopichand is currently working continuously to finish up the script work. The movie will go on floors towards June end or July 1st week

Recently the director Tweeted a picture of him visiting the famous Saraswata Niketanam library where he was immersed among books and old news papers. This has given rise to the speculations that this Balayya- Gopichand project is going to be based on real life incidents.

Meanwhile, Balakrishna is currently busy with Boyapati Srinu’s Akhanda. The recently released teaser of the film has received a terrific response. It is shattering YouTube records and has garnered a whopping 40 million views. . The duo of Balakrishna and Boyapati has given successful mass entertainers such as successful Simha and Legend in the past.

Anudeep getting ready with Jathi Ratnalu sequel

Anudeep KV, who delivered this year’s smash hit Jathi Ratnalu has hinted that a Jathi Ratnalu sequel is well on cards. The director stated that the film will definitely have a sequel. He mentioned that an official update would also be rolled out soon. The script work will also start soon and it needs to be seen if Anudeep will retain the original cast. Naveen Polishetty, Rahul Ramakrishna, Priyadershe and Faria Abdullah played key roles in this comedy.

The movie was well appreciated by the audience for its light-hearted storytelling and gags. Jathi Ratnalu follows the story of 3 unemployed youth from Jogipet and their adventures in Hyderabad.

Released on 11th March, the movie reported great collections from all over. Radhan’s music also played a massive role in the success of the movie with the’ Chitti’ song ending up as a chartbuster. Jathi Ratnalu performed exceptionally well world over and garnered great applause and collections.

Balayya beats Rajini record in just 11 days

Balakrishna’s Akhanda teaser is indeed on a roll! The much-awaited teaser of this Balakrishna- Boyapati combination movie has set Youtube records on fire and in the process has beaten a Rajini record. The teaser registered 11 million views in just 24 hours of its release this Ugadi which itself is a massive number. To put things in context, the RRR’s ‘ Bheem for Ram ‘ teaser took 4 weeks to reach 12 Million views. 

Now Balakrishna’s Akhanda has crossed another huge milestone by crossing a milestone previously achieved by none other than Rajinikanth. Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth’s Kabali teaser has nearly 38 million views on YouTube. And now, Akhanda’s teaser has surpassed Kabali’s teaser views count in just 11 days. This is indeed a massive record as the Kabali teaser was released almost 5 years ago!

Balakrishna can be seen in a never-before avatar in the teaser. His screen presence and dialogue delivery remind us of his heydays where he totally used to dominate the films with a magnifying screen presence.

The movie is the third one in Balakrishna and Boyapati combination after the hugely successful Simha and Legend. This teaser has now taken the expectations of the movie to another level.

Tamannah signs another project with Aha

Tamannah has reportedly signed another project with Telugu digital streaming platform Aha. Just recently she made her digital debut with Aha’s original “11th Hour”. The series 11th Hour also featured Vamsi Krishna, Adith Arun, Pavithra Lokesh, and Jayprakash in lead roles. Director Praveen Sattaru mentioned that this is Tamannah’s best performance so far. Technically as well, the show looked great. The web series received a lukewarm response even though Tamannah’s performance as Aratrika Reddy was well appreciated.

Now it’s been revealed that the actress has signed another project with Aha. Further details on this project and its genre are yet to be updated.

Incidentally Tamannah’s contemporary Samantha also made her OTT debut with Aha through a talk show- Sam Jam. The show also received dull response despite many A- list celebrities marking their presence on the show.

Tamannah will be next seen in Sampath Nandi’s Seetimarr opposite Gopichand. The film’s release has been delayed due to Covid. The makers will take a call on a new release pretty soon. Apart from this project, she will also be seen along with Sathyadev in Gurthunda Seethakalam.

Akhil setting high hopes on Most Eligible Bachelor

Akkineni Akhil is reportedly going all guns blazing for his next film Most Eligible Bachelor. The actor is yet to score a big hit despite showing promise in his earlier films. He has pinned huge hopes on this project and is desperately waiting for success. Not just Akhil, but even the makers are confident of their product this time around. They have left no stone unturned to ensure this romantic drama’s output comes off well.

As per reports, the budget of Most Eligible Bachelor is around Rs 35 crores. This is a massive investment by any standards and the unit is hoping that Akhil will finally get the much-awaited success with this project. Pooja Hegde will be starring opposite Akhil in this romantic drama and the pair’s chemistry has been well appreciated for its freshness.

Bommarillu Bhaskar is directing this movie and Bunny Vas and Vasu Varma are bankrolling this project under GA2 pictures. The music is scored by Gopi Sunder and the songs released till now are already performing great.

Meanwhile, Akhil is also gearing up for his upcoming film Agent. Directed by Surender Reddy, Mollywood Super Star Mohanlal will be playing a key role in this spy thriller.

Rajinikanth shoots at night despite curfew

Super Star Rajinikanth is currently shooting in Hyderabad for his upcoming film  Annaatthe. The shooting of the film, directed by Siruthai Siva is underway in Hyderabad. The action drama also stars Nayanthara and Keerthy Suresh opposite Rajinikanth.

Currently, the movie unit has taken special permission from the authorities to shoot the film at night. Hyderabad is presently under night curfew due to increasing Covid cases across the city. The shooting of ‘Annaatthe’ is taking place at the Ramoji Rao Film City. 

It was during this film that Rajinikanth had to be hospitalized earlier due to blood pressure fluctuations. The movie shoot was stalled for a while as 4 members of the crew had tested Covid positive. Annaatthe’s 60% of shoot has been completed and will release towards the year-end. Recently Jagapathy Babu joined the shoot and few crucial sequences were shot on him.

Annaatthe is produced by Kalanithi Maran under the banner of Sun Pictures. The music is composed by D Imman who recently won the National Award for best music director.

Nagarjuna’s Wild Dog gets a huge response

Nagarjuna’s Wild Dog that released earlier this month failed to impress the audience at theatres. The movie was well appreciated by the critics but ended up as a disaster at the box- office.

The performance of the movie on the digital platform Netflix though has been completely opposite. Wild Dog, that released this weekend on Netflix has been trending on top spots in both Telugu and Tamil. The Telugu version of the film is trending at number 2 on Netflix while the Tamil version of the film is at number 5. Incidentally, the makers initially planned to release Wild Dog on OTT but later decided against it.

The movie was appreciated by the critics for its realistic portrayal of daredevil missions carried out by our security agencies. Directed by Ahishor Solomon, this action thriller is based on certain real-life incidents. The movie that features an ensemble cast of Dia Mirza, Atul Kulkarni, Ali Reza, and Saiyyami Kher among others tells the story of Indian NIA and RAW’s heroics.

Fans of Super Star Mahesh Babu are eagerly waiting for a surprise on May 31st. The date is quite monumental for both Mahesh fans as well as the Super Star himself as it happens to be the birthday of his father Super Star Krishna.

For the last many years Mahesh has been making some announcement or giving out some update or the other to mark Super Star Krishna’s birthday. Fans are hoping this year is no different from previous years and that they will get a glimpse or any update on Sarkaru Vaari Paata.

Incidentally, it was on May 31st last year that Sarkaru Vaari Paata was launched. A poster regarding the same was also released by Mythri Movie Makers marking the occasion. The movie’s filming recently hit a roadblock due to Covid. Super Star recently joined the sets of the film for a new schedule amidst all the safety protocols. However, with a steep rise in the number of cases across the country, the team has now made a last-minute change to the schedule. The shooting for this schedule will now commence once the situation normalizes. The movie will release on Sankranti release next year.

Directed by Parasuram Petla, Sarkaru Vaari Paata stars Keerthy Suresh in the lead role opposite Mahesh Babuu. The music is being scored by SS Thaman. Mythri Movie Makers banner along with GMB Entertainments and 14 Reels are producing this action thriller.
