Boyfriend For Hire: A rom-com with a twist

Actor Vishwak Sen unveiled the teaser of the upcoming Telugu rom-com Boyfriend For Hire. The film stars Vishwant and Malavika Satheesan in the lead roles. It follows the story of a young guy who plays on hire boyfriend to girls around him. Vishwant was last seen in the 2020 romantic thriller O Pitta Katha.

The teaser presents an interesting concept and and Vishwant, who is playing on hire boyfriend in the movie claims that despite being in this field of work, he’s still a virgin.

Directed by newcomer Santosh Kambhampati, the film is a take on modern relationships. Produced by Venu Madhav Peddi and K Niranjan Reddy, the film has music by Gopi Sundar.

Vakeel Saab irks common man

Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s Vakeel Saab released last month to good reviews. The critics even declared this performance of Pawan Kalyan as one of the finest of his career. Power Star’s comeback to the big screen after 3 years was enough to generate massive hype for the movie. Such were the expectations on the film that it got great openings and occupancies. 

With theatres shutting down, producer Dil Raju decided it to be best to release the movie on OTT. The movie released on Amazon Prime Video last weekend.

Amidst all this, a new controversy has propped up. An individual by the name of Sudhakar has lodged a complaint against Dil Raju as well as director Venu Sriram. He said that since the release of the film, he has been getting hundreds of phone calls asking for girls. Because of this, both Sudhakar and his family are facing a tough time.

The movie has a scene wherein a phone number is displayed on a morphed picture of Anjali with a text mentioning “Call this number if you want girls”. The number incidentally belongs to Sudhakar in reality and he has been receiving a flurry of calls for the past few days with demands for girls.

He has filed a complaint with the police and is also planning to file a defamation suit against both Dil Raju and Venu Sriram. Sudhakar mentioned that this is his only phone number and he can’t change it as this number is linked to his PAN, Aadhar, bank accounts, etc.

Naga Chaitanya’s Thank You shoot has come to a grinding halt and the unit has come back to India without completing their Italy schedule. The Italy schedule included some crucial scenes on Naga Chaitanya but had to be suspended due to increasing Covid cases and proposed travel restrictions. This schedule was supposed to be the last one and the filming has almost come to an end.

Naga Chaitanya will be teaming up with Vikram Kumar who will be directing this film. Rashi Khanna has been roped in to play the lead role in the film.

Incidentally, Rashi Khanna was also seen in a small role in Naga Chaitanya and Vikram Kumar’s last collaboration’ Manam’. Post this, Rashi and Naga Chaitanya paired for the second time in Venky Mama. Although the movie did not succeed, their pairing was well appreciated.

Naga Chaitanya is currently gearing up for his movie Love Story opposite Sai Pallavi. The movie’s release has been pushed due to Covid second wave and the makers will be announcing new release date soon.

Rashi, who was last seen in ‘World Famous Lover’ opposite Vijay Devarakonda has been missing from action for almost more than a year and would be looking to register a hit to her credit with Thank You.

Anchor Pradeep’s father passes away

Television anchor and actor Pradeep Machiraju’s father Panduranga Machiraju passed away on Saturday of Covid. According to the reports, anchor Pradeep’s father was suffering from health issues for the last few days and passed away on May 1st. The news has shocked everyone. Tollywood celebrities and others conveying their condolences to his family.

Just last month  Pradeep Machiraju was tested positive for Coronavirus and had isolated himself. He shared the news of his recovery after a few days with his well-wishers on social media. He has fully recovered now.

A break to Allu Arjun’s Pushpa

Icon Star Allu Arjun’s Pushpa became the latest victim of the pandemic wave as the makers decided to stall the film’s shoot for now. Recently, Allu Arjun tested positive for Covid and placed himself under home isolation resulting in the cancellation of the ongoing shoot. The makers are now planning to resume the shoot in the 3rd week of May.

Ever since it was announced that Sukumar and Allu Arjun are going to collaborate yet again, expectations have skyrocketed from all quarters. The recently released Pushpa teaser has matched these expectations and has been well received by all. The teaser has packed some beautiful visuals, action sequences, and background score and turned out to be great success. 

Pushpa is Sukumar and Allu Arjun’s 3rd movie after Arya and Arya 2. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, Pushpa is an action thriller that revolves around red sanders smuggling. Allu Arjun plays the role of a truck driver, who illegally transports the forest produce. The film also stars Fahadh Faasil and Rashmika Mandanna in key roles. It will release simultaneously in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi later this year.

Nithiin finalizes flop director for his next

Nithiin, who is on a spate of unsuccessful movies like Check and Rang De this year has made a surprising decision. He has now signed a movie with Vakkantham Vamsi. Vamsi, whose last film’ Naa Peru Surya, Naa Illu India was a flop at box office is however upbeat about this one.

Producer Tagore Madhu loved the script when it was pitched to Nithiin. “The script discussions are currently going on, and we are using this time to improve the story as much as we can,” he said. The producer further added that the film would be a landmark in Nithiin’s career.

The makers of the movie are planning to rope in Sai Pallavi opposite Nithiin. Sai Pallavi is one of the most sought-after actresses in Telugu and has big-ticket releases such as Love Story and Virata Parvam lined up next. The Rang De actor is currently busy with Maestro, whose first look was released recently.

Vamsi has big hits such as Kick, Racegurram, Temper to his credits as a writer. He will be looking to replicate the same success as a writer and prove himself this time. “Vamsi is a fine technician and I believe in his directorial finesse. Also, he is a writer himself, so his ability to transfer the script onto the screen will be great,” he quipped.

It’s official! Mahesh Babu and Trivikram to join hands again

Super Star Mahesh Babu will once again be joining hands with Trivikram Srinivas for the third time. This will be the third film for Mahesh Babu and Trivikram after Athadu and Khaleja. The makers of the film, Haarika and Haasine Creations posted this much-awaited update on their social media just a while ago.

The combination truly holds a special place in the hearts of film lovers as both Athadu and Khaleja have been iconic and trendsetting in their own ways. On his current project, Mahesh had recently joined the second schedule shooting of Sarkaru Vaari Paata amidst all the safety protocols. However, with a steep rise in the number of cases across the country, the team made a last-minute change to the schedule. The shooting for this schedule will now commence once the situation normalizes. The movie will release on Sankranti release next year.

Actor Sai Dharam Tej took to social media to share a message for his fans and followers. The message was not about any Covid advisory but about a certain imposter of him. Apparently, someone has been pretending to be Sai Dharam Tej on WhatsApp and collecting money from people in the name of Covid charity.

This atrocious act came to the actor’s knowledge and he immediately alerted his followers on the matter. The actor even posted a screenshot of a conversation. In the WhatsApp chat shared by the ‘Republic’ actor, the imposter could be seen demanding Rs 15,000.

“It has come to my notice that a person has been impersonating me and asking for financial help from people I acted with and others. Legal proceedings have been initiated from my end. Please be aware of the situation and avoid any such conversation from people who take my name,” posted the actor on his social media.

The actor further asked people to be empathetic in the present situation. “A humble request in these trying times please let the people in need get our help…please don’t stoop down to such lows and stop our help from reaching the needy,” he added.

Meanwhile, Sai Dharam Tej will be next seen in Deva Katta’s Republic. The teaser of the movie was released recently. The movie is set to release on 4th June and is bankrolled under JB Entertainments banner. Manisharma is scoring the music for this political drama.
