Vakeel Saab that released last month received rave reviews from all sections. The hype around the movie ever since it was announced was unbelievable. With Power Star Pawan Kalyan making a comeback to the silver screen after 3 long years, fans’ excitement levels knew no bounds. The film opened to great collections and turned out to be the biggest opener in the Indian film industry since lockdown.

Vakeel Saab registered an excellent start in Nizam, but, after opening day the film failed to hold same momentum. After the initial euphoria, post Day 5 most centers failed to get shares because of the huge release. Adding to it, the Covid second wave and theatres issue with the government also played a massive role in the film not fairing well as per expectations.

The Nizam area has always been Pawan Kalyan’s strong zone. But Vakeel Saab failed to get the cash registers ringing like before. Vakeel Saab collected Rs 23.5 crores of closing share including GST. If we take out the GST of the equation the collection totals Rs 21 crores. Pawan Kalyan’s blockbuster Attarintiki Daaredi also collected around the same amount of Rs 23 crores way back in 2013. The collections of Attarinitiki Daaredi were an all-time record in Nizam back then. It was expected that Vakeel Saab will easily beat the record after 8 years and add on much more. However, it failed to do so.

Director to go back and become AD?

Usually, it’s a norm in industry to graduate from an AD to Director. A number of aspirants come to the industry and work as an assistant to a director to learn the crafts of filmmaking. Once they believe they have got the hands-on experience, they look to move up the league.

However, looks like there is going to be a reversal with the upcoming Super Star Mahesh Babu and Trivikram film. Buzz is that director Venky Kudumala will be assisting Trivikram on this film. Venu has already directed Chalo and Bheeshma and was looking to direct a star hero next. However, producer Radhakrishna who earlier backed Venky’s Bheeshma requested him to pitch in with support for Trivikram.

Recently, Trivikram lost his go-to man Satyam. Satyam was a senior co-director for Trivikram and helped him with creative inputs and visualizations. His sudden passing away has left a huge void. In this situation, Venky coming in can help the maverick director in a big way. With Venky’s next film taking time to get launched, it’s being reported that he felt it will be a great experience.

Coming to SSMB 28, Trivikram had earlier narrated the script to Superstar who has okayed it. Pooja Hegde will star opposite Mahesh Babu yet again after Maharshi in this film. The shoot of this film is likely to start from August or September and the team is aiming for 2022 Summer release. The title of this film will be revealed on 31st May on the eve of Super Star Krishna Birthday.

There is no doubt that Devi Sri Prasad is one of the biggest names in Telugu music. Over the years, he has delivered some of the biggest chartbuster albums for Tollywood. In fact, his work is not limited to just Telugu, over the years he has delivered a number of blockbuster albums in Tamil as well.

Such is his music’s popularity that his chartbuster songs have been re-composed in Hindi as well. DSP’s ‘Aa Ante Amalapuram’ was remade in the Hindi film ‘Maximum’. Similarly, his ‘Aakalesthe Annam Pedtha’ from Shankar Dada MBBS was also adapted in the Hindi film ‘Bhaag Johnny’. Most recently, DSP’s chartbuster ‘Seetimaar’ was used in Salman Khan’s upcoming film Radhe.

Now we hear that Rohit Shetty has brought Devi Sri Prasad on board for his upcoming comedy entertainer ‘Cirkus’. The film stars Ranvir Singh and Jacqueline Fernandes in lead roles. According to the buzz, DSP has already composed two songs for the film. The first one is a dance number and the other is a romantic love song.

However, it needs to be seen if these songs are fresh compositions or remix of Devi’s older chartbusters.

Varun Sandesh’s bold avatar for new film

Acharya to be further delayed due to Ram Charan?

Mega Power Star Ram Charan is busy with two big-ticket movies Acharya and RRR. However, the shoot of Acharya has run into multiple troubles due to the Covid second wave and has been postponed for now. Even Ram Charan had to go into isolation recently after one of his personal staff succumbed to Covid recently. These factors have contributed to big delays in Acharya yet again. The movie is now looking to release in the August to October slot depending on the completion of Charan’s portion.

The unit of Acharya had recently announced that the release of the film is postponed for now. The announcement stated that a new date would be announced soon. The film was scheduled to release on May 13th. However, major portions to be filmed on Ram Charan are still in the balance. Although Charans’ role would be comparatively smaller in Acharya, his scenes are crucial to the story.

Directed by Koratala Siva, the movie is being jointly produced by Charan himself under the Konidela Production Company banner. The movie also stars Kajal Agarwal and in the lead role. Massive sets were erected in Marredumilli, Yellanadu, and Singareni Coal mines for some key scenes. This will be Chiranjeevi’s fourth on-screen collaboration with Charan after Magadheera, Bruce Lee, Khaidi no.150.

Is this the title of Kalyan Ram’s upcoming film?

Nandamuri Kalyan Ram is busy with his upcoming film directed by debutant Rajendra. The film was launched earlier this year in February and has been titled Amigos. However, now we hear that the shoot of the film has been stalled due to the Covid second wave.

Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar will produce Amigos under Mythri Movie Makers banner. The banner is fresh off a hit ‘Uppena’ and is producing the much-awaited Pushpa set to release later this year.

Kalyan Ram, was last seen in the 2020 film Entha Manchivaadavura . The film failed to impress the audience at the box office and was declared a flop. He will be next seen in a fantasy-action entertainer. Vasishta Mallidi will be directing this film. The Pataas actor is also in talks to reunite with KV Guhan for the Telugu remake of the Malayalam crime thriller, Anjaam Pathiraa. KV Guhan had earlier directed Kalyan Ram in thriller movie 118.

What has RRR team planned for May 20?

Fans and movie lovers are waiting with bated breath for the most anticipated movie RRR. Each and every update from the RRR team is raising the expectations to the fullest. A motion poster was released recently on Ajay Devgn’s birthday on April 2nd. Before that, the team released a poster of Ram Charan on the eve of his birthday on March 27th. This brings us to the question of what’s in store for Jr NTR’s birthday on May 20th.

Last year on the occasion of Ram Charan’s birthday, the team had released a teaser featuring Ram Charan and voiced by Jr NTR. A similar teaser was expected on Jr NTR’s birthday but it didn’t release due to Covid. The teaser featuring Jr NTR was later released in October and raked up 50 million views.

However, this time it seems that the RRR team would just suffice with a poster for Jr NTR as well. The team did the same for Ram Charan’s birthday and adding to that, the Covid second wave might also cause delays in the composition of the teaser.

RRR also stars Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Olivia Morris, Samuthirakani and Irish actors Ray Stevenson and Alison Doody in key roles. SS Rajamouli is directing the mega project that’s being produced by DVV Danayya. The film is scheduled for an October 13th release.
