RRR picks the momentum, indicates a strong 2nd weekend at Boxoffice

RRR after its first week has registered staggering numbers and has established many new opening day and opening weekend records. However, as expected, the collections saw a slight dip during the weekdays. Now, with the 2nd weekend approaching, RRR is seeing a hike in occupancies and is picking up momentum towards another milestone weekend.

The advance bookings from Friday evening are excellent in all territories and languages. A solid weekend is expected and the next two days will be big in Telugu states due to Ugadi. All in all, RRR is in for another great weekend at the box office huge numbers are expected.

Overall the film has collected a share of 186.3Crs from the Telugu States and the worldwide share of the Telugu version is close to 263.2Crs. We need to see how much more will the second week to the already humungous collections of the film.

Vijay’s Beast is releasing on the 13th of April and Yash’s KGF: Chapter 2 is releasing on April 14th. Hence the movie has a good 2 weeks of time to make the most out of the box office in both Tamil Nadu as well as Karnataka.

After the covid break, Telugu film industry shined at once. When every industry was in dilemma whether people will come to theatres as before or not, Big movies in Tollywood were released and brought audience back to theatres. All the star heroes’ films are getting released and they  are getting ready for the next projects to go on sets. In this transition time, the top 6 heroes of Tollywood are taking break from shootings and planning vacations with families.

Ramcharan and NTR should be in the list for sure. They worked hard for three years for RRR and they actively participated in promotion events till the release date without any rest. So the duo are planning to take rest for few days. Prabhas after Radhe Shyam is already taking the much needed break after Radhe Shyam. 

After Bheemla Nayak release, Pawan is busy in political activities. Powerstar hasn’t took part in film shoots. After this break the Powerstar is supposed to join HVHM schedule. Allu Arjun is waiting for Pushpa The rule script to complete. He need to wait few more months as the writing team is still busy in the script work.

Superstar Mahesh completed his part for Sarkaru Vaari paata and is ready for the vacation with family. Mahesh babu will not miss an opportunity to go for a holiday with family in the film breaks. So it is heard that he will go on a holiday before his next project.

Casting couch cases on Pushpa movie choreographer

Casting couch cases are not new to film industry. We heard a lot of cases especially in Bollywood. The latest is on renowned choreographer Ganesh Acharya. Ganesh Acharya choreographed Allu Arjun and Samantha for the latest sensation Oo Antava Mawa Oo Antava song from Pushpa.

The choreographer worked for more than 500 films in the Industry. He composed choreography for almost all the super stars and worked for blockbuster songs throughout his career. The dance master previously accused by Saroj Khan another star choreographer for using her name to trap young women. Ganesh Acharya and his assistant are accused under section 354 – A, 354 – C, 354 – D, 509, 323 and 504.

A female assistant of Ganesh master complained that the choreographer harassed her. She also told that her master used to show her porn videos and send lewd messages. She even accused that Ganesh master forced her for sex in 2010 for which she denied. He tried to convince her by saying that he will make her get more offers in industry. As she denied his wish, he made her to loose her membership in Indian Film and Television Choreographers Association. Let’s see how this case goes in future.

Tamil Actor Vijay and Pooja Hegde starrer Beast is on the news for quite sometime. Vijay’s Earlier blockbuster Master raised lot of hype and expectations on his next project Beast. The film is directed by Nelson. Nelson had scored a big blockbuster with Siva Karthikeyan starrer Doctor. This even raised more expectations. The film is made on big scale. Anirudh is also the music director for the film.

Now, Vijay’s Brand is doing huge business for Beast despite the competition with KGF 2. Tamil Nadu territories business is being done close to 80 cr ratio. Telugu states are said to be sold for 10.5 cr and Kerala at 7.5 cr, Karnataka at 8 cr, Overseas for 32 cr and Rest of India will be in the range of 2.5 crores. Overall the theatrical business is in the range of 140 crs. The film needs to collect 280 cr+ gross worldwide for breakeven and even more for hit status.

Recently released songs have already brought the necessary craze and hype for the film. First single, Arabic Kuthu garnered around 250 Million views in a month and Jolly o Gymkhana with 35 Million views in 12 days on YouTube. The trailer of the film is said to be releasing tomorrow on April 2.

RRR fake numbers for Nizam and Ceded benchmarks

RRR team is said to be adding fake numbers for Nizam and ceded territories. RRR starring Jr. NTR and Ram Charan released on 25 March amidst much fanfare. Fans of both heroes had lot of expectations on this film. Rajamouli directing this film after his mighty Bahubali series is also one of the reasons for this. Promotional events and publicity was also done heavily for this film.

The film however achieved a positive talk and started to rule the box office from the day 1 and had a very good weekend. The film collected around 500 crs gross and 285 crs share in its weekend. But the film dropped on the weekdays witnessing drops in many areas. High ticketing prices is also a reason for this. Repeat audience are affected by this heavy prices. For 100 cr in Nizam and 50 cr in Ceded benchmarks, distributors and team are announcing the hyped numbers in these two territories. More than 10 crs are said to be added in these two territories till now.

The film has become a liability for both heroes and Rajamouli. Rajamouli who earned a brand with Bahubali should live up to this brand. It is also one of the reasons for these fake numbers.

Mishan Impossible – a tale of three kids RRR (Raghupathi, Raghava, Rajaram) trying to become famous and rich is released today. Taapsee being the usp of the film played a key role in the movie. Agent Sai Srinivas Athreya’s director Swaroop RSJ came up again with his hot formula comedy thriller.

The USA premiers are already screened. Unfortunately negative talk is making rounds from the premier. Though the first half received a decent talk, viewers felt that last one hour spoiled the film. Got to wait for few hours to know how it goes with the audience in India. With having festival weekend in front, the comedy thriller is expected to grab the audience to theatres.

As per the latest trend, Mishan impossible is expected to release on OTT with in a month. The streaming partner for this entertainer is Netflix. With all the big releases made their way out, the next is Superstar Mahesh babu’s Sarkaru Vaari Paata. The biggie is scheduled to release on 12th May. The makers already kick started the promotions with the first single. And the start is phenomenal with Kalavathi turned out to be a sensational hit. The second single Penny impressed audience with the visuals. Now the fans are eagerly waiting for the next update from the team.

With the two songs Kalavathi and Penny created loud buzz, Third song Murari is set to release in this week. It is known that Sarkaru Vaari Paata album consists of five songs in total. Apart from Kalavathi, Penny and Murari songs, two more songs will remain to reveal.

The makers are planning to release the title song just before the movie release to create the euphoria. Bahubali is the face of the Telugu cinema. Not only Telugu cinema, it turned out to be the face of the Indian Cinema. It brought Prabhas an unmatchable craze all over India. Rajamouli became a star director in Indian cinema over night. It is the vision and passion of the master S.S. Rajamouli that made Bahubali.

The success Bahubali achieved was phenomenal and unimaginable. People all over India liked and it shattered all the language barriers of cinema. Then comes Bahubali 2 with high expectations and the master mind Jakkanna mesmerised audience once again. So Bahubali and Bahubali 2 are exceptional in Indian cinema. Bahubali created its own mark and set the standards such that everything became non Bahubali. Non Bahubali records, non Bahubali openings etc. And if anyone can beat that, it should be again SSR.

Everyone thought that Bahubali’s records will be beaten when the master craftsman Rajamouli announced RRR with the two massive stars of Tollywood. With the craze of NTR and Ram Charan, RRR strikes a gold in the openings in Telugu states. But it is SSR duty to pull the audience in other states with the content. Though the film got positive talk all over India, there are some areas RRR has to do so much well in terms of business. Due to over pricing, the film is yet to get break even in some areas.

Baahubali and Baahubali2 are huge blockbusters in all languages/Territories with heavy returns for all the involved parties , Rajamouli has failed to repeat same magic with RRR. In TN , Kerala , Karnataka the film is not achieve the breakven just recovered around 60% of theatrical business. So even these exhibitors are looking hopefully for the film to do well in the coming weekend.

Prabhas’ Radhe Shyam now streaming on Amazon Prime Video

Prabhas’ Radhe Shyam released earlier last month amidst great hype and expectations. The romantic drama failed to impress the audience and ended up as a massive disaster at the box office. While the film was well appreciated for its visuals and production values, it failed to create an emotional connection with the audience.

Radhe Shyam is now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video in Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, and Kannada. The romantic drama has made its OTT premiere just 20 days after its theatrical release. Set in the Europe of the 1970s, the film showcases the love story of a palmist named Vikramaditya (Prabhas) and Prerana, a doctor (Pooja).

This Prabhas and Pooja Hegde starrer got off to a flying start despite negative reviews. However, after the initial euphoria died down, Radhe Shyam saw huge drops and massive losses in every territory.

After the release of big-budget RRR and all the buzz and celebrations last week, the audience have a totally contrasting small-budget movie with a low buzz in front of them. Mishan Impossible is directed by Swaroop RSJ, who earlier made his debut with Agent Sai Srinivas Athreya. The quirky trailer has managed to generate some curiosity. But, does this small movie have enough to sustain at the box office? Let’s find out

Story: Mishan Impossible is a story of three kids named Raghupati, Raghava, Rajaram who go by the monicker RRR. RRR set out to capture India’s most wanted criminal Dawood Ibrahim where their paths cross with Sailaja (Tapsee), an investigative journalist. Sailaja is following a series of child trafficking cases and trying to bring light to it. How RRR and Sailaja combine their forces and work together is what the story is about.


Performances: The three kids Harsh, Bhanu, and Jayatheertha, playing Raghupati, Raghava and Rajaram have quite a vital part in this film and they have played their roles to perfection. Credit must be given to Swaroop RSJ for extracting great performances from the child actors. Tapsee as Sailaja has got a major chunk of work to do and has done a decent job as an investigative journalist. The rest of the supporting cast including Harsha Vardhan, Rishab Shetty, Suhaas among others have done justice to their characters in whatever limited scope provided.

Analysis: Mishan Impossible is a great concept on paper and has the capability of repeating the success of Agent Sai Srinivas Athreya. The movie definitely has its bright moments, especially in the first half. However, unlike ASSA, the movie begins to lose its grip once we approach the climax. Tapsee’s scenes with the kids are well shot and the investigative parts are decently set up. Once the characters are established and their arc starts to develop the execution starts going sideways and the viewers might lose track of the proceedings due to weak writing

Verdict: Mishan Impossible is a film that has all the makings of a good weekend watch. Good characterizations, a unique plot, and a talented cast provide a great start to the movie. However, the film starts losing plot once it starts diving into the actual plot. An OTT release would have been a better option and would have reached a far wider audience.
