Karan Johar Praises Allu Arjun, Calls Him A Megastar

It is common knowledge that Allu Arjun is one of the biggest stars in the Telugu film industry. He has amassed a huge fanbase in the two Telugu states because of his acting, dancing, and stylish persona. But what is more interesting is his fanbase up north.

Karan Johar in a recent interview said that Allu Arjun is a massive star in the North. His dubbed movies do extremely well on Youtube, he added. He called Allu Arjun the Megastar of South.

For example, DJ(dubbed) has over 438M views on Youtube, the highest for a South Indian actor.

Karan Johar added that Pushpa went on to collect 3 crores on its opening day, without any marketing, purely due to Allu Arjun. He also added how even some huge Hindi films haven’t opened to 3 crores on the opening day.

To further prove his point, the Hindi version of Pushpa has now collected over 30+ crores at the box office, beating Salman Khan’s Antim as well. This is absolutely insane.

To analyze this, Karan Johar said that this is due to the massive satellite successes of these Hindi dubbed films. People who have watched the dubbed versions will go and watch the actor on the big screen.

This is a great point as we can see that this is the case even with Chiranjeevi’s Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, which had decent Hindi collections. This is again due to the Hindi dubbed movies of Chiranjeevi.

To end, Karan Johar also said that the South Indians have understood the scale of the market very well.

Karan is no stranger to Telugu cinema. He has previously produced Bahubali 2 and is now co-producing Vijay Devarakonda’s Liger.

Senapathi Trailer Promises An Engaging, Gritty Thriller

Senapthi is an upcoming Telugu original film by Aha. The trailer which was released on 29th December showcased Rajendra Prasad in a completely new light.

The trailer of Senapathi promises an engaging thriller. Rajendra Prasad plays a middle-aged man disguised as a cold-blooded criminal. The actor looks menacing as the cold-hearted Senapathi.

The editor of the Senapathi trailer deserves a special mention for his sharp editing. The trailer builds up curiosity without giving anything away.

From the looks of it, the film will be a chase between Senapathi, played by Rajendra Prasad, and a police officer, played by Naresh Agastya. The movie will also revolve around the concepts of greed, cheating, and money.

The background music by Shravan Bharadwaj is chilling and also adds to the suspense of the trailer. Similarly, Cinematographer Vivek Kalepu’s camera work is top-notch too.

The film also stars Naresh Agastya, Harshvardhan, Gnananeshwari Kandregula, and Satya Prakash among others. Pavan Sadineni is the director of the movie.

It is very refreshing to see a talented actor like Rajendra Prasad experimenting with different roles. His choice of roles in CLIMAX, Gaali Sampath also clearly suggests a change in his selection of roles.

RRR Follows Bahubali Style Of Paid Premieres In India

RRR is undoubtedly not only the most-awaited Telugu film after Bahubali-2 but also the most awaited Indian film after the Bahubali franchise.

It is then essential for RRR to also follow the working style of the Bahubali 2, which is, paid premieres before official release. The reason for this is simple. To make most of its money back on the opening day, and also generate hype before the official release.

Bahubali 2 achieved great success from this strategy. The ticket prices ranged from 500-2000 rupees on the opening day, helping the film collect 120 crores+ on day 1.

RRR is also planning for paid premieres from 6th January at 9 PM, one day before release. If things go smoothly, they might also plan for 6 PM shows. The premieres will take place mainly in the two Telugu states, but also in some theatres in India.

His next movie as music director is the Powerstar Pawan Kalyan starrer Bheemla Nayak. The Bheemla Nayak title song and Lala Bheemla have already set the internet on fire. Now Thaman is back with a modified DJ version of Lala Bheemla, which will release on 31st December.

The original version of the song is already intense and powerful. One can already imagine the speakers on full volume for Lala Bheemla’s DJ version.

Shyam Singha Roy was released on 24th December and opened to positive reviews and decent collections.

This is Nani’s comeback into theatrical releases after 2 years. His previous two films, V and Tuck Jagadish were released on OTT. This is also an important film for Nani as both V and Tuck Jagadish were not enjoyed by the masses.

So far the film is promising on the content grounds. It is yet to be seen whether the film will make enough people flock to the theatres to receive a hit status, or whether people will wait till Shyam Singha Roy releases on OTT.

Speaking of which, Shyam Singha Roy’s OTT rights have been bagged by top streaming giant- Netflix. Traders and Analysts are reportedly quoting a top price. This is no surprise as the satellite rights and dubbing rights have also gone for a whopping 10 crores each.

The movie will stream on Netflix somewhere around the 4th week of January.

Shyam Singha Roy also stars Sai Pallavi, Krithi Shetty, Madonna Sebastian among others. Sanu John Varghese is the cinematographer of the film. Satyadev Janga has written the story. Liger first glimpse date and time locked

Vijay Deverakonda’s much-awaited sports drama Liger is all set to bring out its first glimpse. The makers of the movie earlier today revealed that the Liger glimpse will be out on 31st December at 10:03 AM. This announcement has drawn a massive cheer from the ‘Rowdy’ and Puri Jagannadh fans who are eagerly waiting to close the year with a bang.

Liger is going to be released in a total of five languages- Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, and Tamil. This is the first pan-Indian film for Vijay Devarakonda and fans are having sky-high expectations of it. This sports drama revolves around Boxing and the famous Mike Tyson is playing a cameo in the movie.

Jr NTR and Ram Charan starrer RRR is just 10 days away from its grand release. By this time for a movie releasing amidst such anticipation, everything should have been sorted out. However, the ongoing tickets issue in Andhra Pradesh has covered RRR Andhra business under a cloud of uncertainty.

The business ratio is still not fixed in Andhra because of ticket rate issues . Makers and distributors are still waiting for the official info from Government. Amidst this lack of clarity, the distributors are also forced to play a waiting game as they do not want any risk about pricing now.

The recent raids conducted on multiple theatres across the state have kept the distributors under severe tension.

Initially, the Andhra business was ratioed at Rs 100 Cr. However, now we have wait to see the final ratio that has to be decided. In the case of Ceeded also, something similar is on. Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey stands postponed

Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey has now been postponed from its original release date of 31st December. A remake of Nani starrer 2019 film by the same name, this Bollywood film has been one of the most awaited films of the year. The rising Omicron cases and restrictions imposed by various governments are being cited as the reason for this postponement.

The makers of Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey released a statement earlier today announcing this decision. However, a new date was not mentioned in the statement.

“In view of the current circumstances and new covid guidelines we have decided to postpone the theatrical release of our film Jersey. We have received immense love from you all so far and want to thank you all for everything. Until then everyone please stay safe and healthy, and wishing you all the best for the new year ahead!! Team Jersey!!“

The actor first worked in ‘Arjun Reddy’ remake ‘Kabir Singh’ which became a blockbuster and the highest grosser of his career. Now he is reprising the role of Nani in the remake of the 2019 superhit classic ‘Jersey’.

Mrunal Thakur is co-starring opposite Shahid while his father Pankaj Kapoor will play a key role in this sports drama.
