Icon Star Allu Arjun’s Pushpa has gone through quite a few twists and turns from the day of its release. The film opened to mixed reviews but established many opening records in its first weekend. From thereon, the occupancy dropped and the collections slowed down for Telugu. While this was happening, the other versions continued to perform quite well.

The movie has now crossed Rs 150 crore mark (all versions). Pushpa has become the second consecutive film for him after Ala Vaikunthapurramlo to have achieved this.

Coming to AP, the movie hasn’t exactly set the box-office on fire as it was expected to. This led to the producers refunding amounts to the distributors. Coming to UA + East + Guntur, the producers have refunded Rs 8 crores combined for these regions. The West region will be decided later. In Krishna, it is the producer’s own release while Nellore and Ceeded have recovered around 80% and are the only regions where no refund is required.

The action entertainer opened to great numbers and established many 2021 records in terms of openings. It was the highest-grossing film on its opening day in 2021, beating Vijay’s Master, Pawan Kalyan’s Vakeel Saab, and Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi.

Pawan Kalyan’s Bheemla Nayak is in quite a tricky situation. The movie was slated for Sankranti release and had everything gone as planned, the Bheemla Nayak team would have been busy with promotions as of now. However, fate had different plans.

Dil Raju, who is also the distributor for RRR and Radhe Shyam along with Bheemla Nayak, convinced the Bheemla Nayak team to postpone their release to February 25th. Pawan Kalyan, Trivikram along with producer Naga Vamsi were strongly against it. However, they had to reluctantly give up their slot and move to February. Since the movie was pushed, Bheemla Nayak team also planned their schedules accordingly and slowed the shooting.

Cut to January first week, both RRR and Radhe Shyam have been postponed and there is no biggie left for Sankranti. This would have been a golden opportunity for the Pawan Kalyan starrer to release and cash in on the festive season. However, due to Dil Raju, now they can’t even speed up the shooting and be ready for Sankranti.

Adding to this, the cases across the country are rising and theatres are shutting down. In such a scenario February releases are also in great danger. The Bheemla Nayak team is now wondering if they should have not listened to Dil Raju. The situation would have been quite profitable if the stayed for a Sankranti release.
