Manchu Vishnu Invites Perni Nani For A Meeting

When AP CM Jagan held a meeting with some of the prominent figures of Tollywood yesterday, everyone noticed that MAA President Manchu Vishnu was absent from the meeting. This is even more shocking considering the fact that Jagan and Manchu Vishnu are close relatives.

It is still unknown as to whether he did not receive an invite or if he was busy. However, he has managed to meet the AP cinematography minister Perni Nani today to discuss the ticket rates issue. Manchu Vishnu took to Twitter to share a picture of himself with his father, Mohan Babu and Perni Nani.

As the President of MAA, people are curious to see what value and contribution Manchu Vishnu adds to Tollywood. People are doubtful about his leadership abilities at the moment but hopefully, he proves the people wrong.

AP Movie Ticket Pricing Committee Meeting Details

Just yesterday Andhra Pradesh CM, Jagan, held a meeting with some prominent members of the Telugu Film Industry along with cinematography minister Perni Nani. After a lot of discussions, the issues were sorted out and a common ground was reached.

In view of this, the movie ticket pricing committee is meeting on 17th February to discuss and formulate a set of rules for the ticket prices in AP. The officers who have sent important information to the committee members will also have the opportunity to make key decisions during the meeting.

Jagan has already laid out a set of instructions regarding the prices for big-budget and small-budget movies. But the members of the committee will work over the mentioned instructions and create a final list.

Khiladi is an action crime thriller written and directed by Ramesh Varma, and produced by Satyanarayana Koneru under the brand of A Studios LLP. Ravi Teja plays the lead role in the film alongside Meenakshi Chaudhary, and Dimple Hayathi appear in the film. Ravi Teja’s last film, Krack, was released for Sankranthi 2021. Regardless of covid restrictions at theatres, the film turned out to be his biggest hit. With Khiladi, he’s in a similar scenario. 





Story: The plot follows Mohan Gandhi (Ravi Teja), a seemingly innocent guy who is accused of murdering his own charming little family. Pooja (Meenakshi Chaudhary), a psychology student, approaches him in prison to submit a thesis and finds up embarking on a self-righteous quest to set him free. At the very least, get him released on a bail. During this time, she finds that Mohan is caught up in a money-laundering mess linked to the current home minister. The rest of the narrative concentrates around how the lead actor coped with the situation and emerged victorious.





Performances: Ravi Teja, as usual, plays his part with perfection. His performance and energy are some of the biggest plus points of the film. Arjun Sarja plays the role of CBI officer and delivered an honest performance in the film. Both lead actress has nothing much to do in the film. One of the actresses seemed to be roped in for the film with the sole purpose of appealing to the masses by unnecessary overexposing. There isn’t much noteworthy performance from any other actor in the film.





Analysis: Except for the interesting opening sequence, 1st of the film turns out to be a regular predictable mass action film. Things light up just before the intermission, and the director uses an excellent interval segment to redeem the tedious and predictable first half. The best aspect of the movie is this interval sequence. Despite these decent pre-interval and interval sequences director fails to impress the audience in the second half. Screenplay and narration in the half stuffed with twists test the patience of the audience. The songs and background score from DSP are decent. The cinematography of the film in a few action sequences deserves praise. It is one aspect where the film scores decent marks.

Verdict: Overall Khiladi is a regular predictable mass action film with a bad story and screenplay. Ever since the announcement of #NBK107, fans of Balakrishna have been eager to see their star in a new avatar once again. After Akhanda, Balakrishna’s craze and market has grown tenfolds in the Telugu states as well as in other parts of India.





Similarly, after the massive success of Krack, director Gopichand Malineni’s market value has also gone up. It will be interesting to see the combination of Balakrishna’s mass and Gopichand’s mass direction. Reports also suggest that Balakrishna will most likely be playing a dual role in this film as well.





The shooting of #NBK107 will start on 16th February in Sirisilla, Telangana. The film boasts of a stellar cast of Shruthi Haasan, Duniya Vijay, and, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar among others. Mythri Movies are producing then film. After RRR, NTR had signed a film with director Trivikram Srinivas for a huge budget Pan India film. Fans of NTR were ecstatic to hear this combo again after the blockbuster success of Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava. But due to some unknown reasons, the movie was later canceled.  





NTR then went on to sign a project with Koratala Siva and Trivikram has signed a film with Mahesh Babu. Now in latest news, the producer of the NTR-Trivikram project has confirmed that the film has not been canceled but is just postponed and will release on a Pan India level.





Official announcements will most likely take place only when both NTR and Trivikram are free. The project will take at least a minimum of 1 year to go on floors. The producer has said that it will be made on a huge budget with grand locations. It will be one of the costliest films ever made in both NTR and Trivikram’s career and will release Pan India.





At present, NTR is eagerly awaiting the release of his magnum opus with Ram Charan and Rajamouli. RRR is set to release on March 25th in theatres. The release day has arrived and with it has brought a bunch of films all set to hit the theatres as well along with some OTT releases. Ravi Teja’s much-awaited Khiladi will released worldwide today. The action thriller has been in making for quite some time and will finally be in front of the audience world over. If the trailer is anything to go by it is going to be an action-packed ride for sure. 





Coming to the OTT releases, there are a bunch of interesting films across genres making their digital premiere today.





  • Prime Video- Gehraiyan (Hindi)– Starring Deepika Padukone, Ananya Pandey, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Dhairya Karwa in lead roles, Gehraiyan is a sneek peak into the modern urban relationships and their dynamics. Acclaimed director Shakun Batra has directed this drama. 
  • Aha Video: Bhamakalpam– Bhamakalpam is a thriller dark comedy starring Priyamani in lead. The quirky trailer captured the world of Priyamani, a YouTube chef who unwittingly gets entangled in the world of crime and money. 
  • Aha Video: Writer (Tamil) – Writer is Tamil crime thriller starring Samuthrikani in lead role. It follows the story of a innocent writer at a police station who gets trapped in a case unwittingly. What follows next forms the plot of this critically acclaimed film. 
  • Zee 5 Malli Modalaindi – Sumanth starrer Romantic drama Malli Modalaindi focusses on the life of a divorcee and his life finding new love. The movie looks to shed the tabboo around divorce and Sumanth has given a mature performance in this film co-starring Nania Ganguly. 
  • Zee 5 Anandham Vilayam Veedu (Tamil)– An action drama featuring Gautham Karthik and Naren along with Shivathmika Rajasekhar in lead. The film had a theatrical release last year in Deccember. 
  • Sony Liv- Freedom Fight (Malayalam)– Freedom Fight is a Malayalam anthology film put together by Jeo Baby. The film has 5 different short stories capturing varied emotions. 
  • Hotstar- Hero – This Ashok Galla starrer action entertainer released during Sankranti and turned out to be an average fare. Ashok Galla’s debut also stars Niddhi Agerwal, Jagapathi Babu, Naresh and Vennela Kishore. The meeting between Tollywood heroes and director’s delegation and AP CM YS Jagan turned fruitful for the industry. The Chief Minister permitted the fifth show and also assured that a new G.O regarding the tickets prices will be out in February end. This has brought great relief to the industry. 





Chiranjeevi, Mahesh Babu, Prabhas, SS Rajamouli, R Narayana Murthy, and others were a part of this delegation that me YS Jagan. Apart from the above, the Chief Minister has also offered certain concessions for the TFI. He stated that films that have a budget of Rs 100 crores and above will be allowed special hikes. Similarly, even pan-India films will be extended the same benefits. 





The Rs 100 crores budget would have to exclude hero, heroine, and director remunerations, the CM clarified. Additionally, the Chief Minister also requested the TFI to come to AP and set up their studios. Bheemla Nayak makers and Pawan Kalyan fans are now in a fix. The meeting held between the Tollywood delegation and AP CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy was a resounding success. The delegation comprising of Chiranjeevi, Mahesh Babu, Prabhas, SS Rajamouli, R Narayana Murthy, and others put forth the challenges faced by the industry. The government took serious cognizance of the issue and minister Perni Nani stated that a revised G.O will be out by February end. 





This has put Pawan Kalyan fans and Bheemla Nayak makers in quite a confused state. Bheemla Nayak is all set to release on 25th February. However, there is confusion whether the revised G.O will come after the movie release or along with it. 





Everyone including the team was expecting the new rates G.O to be out today. However, that didn’t happen and it has put the plans of the makers in a fix. Bheemla Nayak makers and Pawan Kalyan though are raring to go for February 25th. They have stated repeatedly that regardless of the situations in AP, the movie will release on that date.

MAA President Manchu Vishnu has been missing from the action happening between the Government and Tollywood. Being the head of the actors’ association, it’s his responsibility to be at the front and look for resolution on the ongoing issues affecting Tollywood. However, ever since the issue started, Vishnu has spoken very little on it and has shied away from the issue. 





Today, as a delegation of Tollywood top heroes and directors met AP CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy, the ‘Mosagallu’ actor tweeted some gibberish and later deleted the Tweet. 










Megastar Chiranjeevi has taken the initiative of resolving the issue. Right from day one, he has taken Tollywood together to ensure the ticket pricing issue comes to an end. The delegation comprised of Mahesh Babu, Prabhas, R Narayana Murthy, Rajamouli, and Koratala Siva among others.

Nagarjuna, who is usually always present at meetings pertaining to issues in Tollywood, was absent from the meeting that occurred today between Jagan and some prominent figures from Tollywood.





The meeting that took place today bore a fruitful solution to the ongoing ticket rates issue in Andhra Pradesh. Chiranjeevi was the frontrunner of the meeting, followed by Mahesh Babu, Prabhas, and many others. Jagan laid out some ground rules but most of the decisions seem to be in favor of the industry.





But many noticed that Nagarjuna who is also a senior figure from Tollywood was missing from this discussion. Sources now tell us that Nagarjuna and Amala Akkineni are currently in home isolation after testing positive for the COVID-19 virus.
