Disney+Hotstar Ruined Akhanda

Akhanda is one of those movies that you simply cannot miss in the theatres. The experience of listening to Thaman’s pulsating background music while Balayya beats up the bad guys is unmatchable.

The film is now streaming on the Disney+Hotstar OTT platform, and despite a lot of views in the first 24 hours, there are some significant complaints.

The audio quality of Akhanda on Hotstar is subpar. The terrific background score by Thaman gets completely ruined by 2 channel audio.

The Akhanda title on Hotstar shows 5.1 channel audio, which should have proper surround sound. But instead, the stream contains only 2 channel audio which hampers the overall experience of the audience who have proper built-in home theatre setups.

Many people also started complaining to Hotstar on social media but there has been no reply from the team.

Pushpa registers another non-Baahubali record

Icon Star Allu Arjun’s Pushpa has been shattering one record after another in other territories. While the film didn’t manage to set a collections Tsunami in AP, it has done exceedingly well in north and Tamil Nadu. The film has now surpassed Spyder collections in Tamil Nadu and has set the non-Baahubali record for the Tollywood movie.

The Mahesh Babu starrer grossed Rs 25 crore plus in 2017. Pushpa, on the other hand, has grossed Rs 27 crores plus and emerged as the highest grosser Tollywood film in TN after Baahubali. Pushpa has performed much better in other versions. The film generated great revenue and accolades for Allu Arjun.

This action entertainer has emerged as a jackpot for the buyers in Tamil Nadu. The pre-business was done for Rs 5.5Cr while the movie has collected 13Cr+ share. Pushpa was later released in 50 more theatres than the original release as there were no notable Tamil releases of late.

The film has also performed well in its Hindi version up north. Despite facing stiff competition from Ranvir Singh’s 83, Pushpa: The Rise emerged as the winner. This Hindi version of this Sukumar movie has netted Rs 85 crores plus so far. Despite receiving mixed reviews, the revenue and non-Baahubali record that it has set in other languages are massive.

NTR and Koratala Siva aiming for Sankranti release

Director Koratala Siva has started pre-production works on the much-awaited NTR30. It was after much suspense and last-minute changes that it was decided last year that NTR and Koratala Siva will be collaborating for this film.  This will be the second collaboration between the duo after the hugely successful Janatha Garage.

During the announcement, the makers revealed that this movie will release on 29th April 2022. However, due to multiple delays on both NTR and Koratala Siva’s ongoing project, the film will go on floors a bit late. The project is now slated for a Sankranti 2023 release.

The story reportedly follows a student leader who later becomes a CEO and is based on a village backdrop. Jr NTR will be shedding weight for the Koratala Siva film and will be seen in a lean and stylish look for the film.

Koratla Siva is the only director from the big league without a release since 2018. With so much riding on this film, he is putting great effort into this project. It sure looks like we are surely in for something big!

Speaking about NTR30, he earlier took to social media and said, “Last time repairs were local…but for a change we will cross boundaries this.”

Ravi Teja’s Khiladi business update

Ravi Teja’s Khiladi has been in making for quite some time. The film face multiple delays due to Covid and overcame countless obstacles in its path towards completion. This action thriller will finally be hitting the screens on February 11th.

The ground seems to be clear for Khiladi as after Bangarraju, there are no notable films releasing. The only biggie that’s scheduled right now is Bheemla Nayak which will release on 25th February. This means Khiladi will have a solid 2 weeks’ time to showcase its might.

Mass Maharaja is in great form after Khiladi and that is the reason the film is generating good business from all quarters. Andhra business is being done in Rs 11 cr ratio while Ceeded internal business in Rs 3.5 Cr ratio and Nizam business is Rs 7 Cr. The total pre-release business so far has amounted close to Rs 22 crores which is a great positive sign.

Ravi Teja’s Khiladi has been getting delayed for quite some time but director Ramesh Varma has promised the fans that the wait will be worth it.

Ravi Teja will be seen in a dual role in this action thriller. The movie is produced jointly by Satyanarayana Koneru and Ramesh Varma under the banner of A Studios LLP. It stars Dimple Hayathi, Unni Mukundan, Arjun Sarja and Meenakshi Chaudhary in key roles.

Vijay Devarakonda showers praise on Mahesh Babu

Vijay Deverakonda has been a long-time admirer of Superstar Mahesh Babu. Both on stage as well as off it, Vijay has spoken about his love for the Superstar. Now, speaking to a publication he once again expressed the same.

“Mahesh Babu has been my favorite actor for a long time. I still remember watching Murari in theatres and it was an amazing experience. Now we have these multiplexes and pre-bookings but, back then getting a ticket for a Mahesh movie was a huge task. We had to go and stand in line for hours and then also there was no guarantee of a ticket,” said Vijay.

The ‘Liger’ actor also expressed his gratitude to Mahesh for always being encouraging towards new talents in the industry.

“After the release of Pelli Chupulu, Mahesh sent me a message on Twitter appreciating my performance. Believe me, I felt as if I had conquered the world. Such praise from him meant a lot to me,” he stated.

Vijay Deverakonda is currently busy with Liger and is putting in great efforts to transform into a professional MMA fighter. The film will be a pan-India project and will release on 25th August 2022.

10 days done, still no update. AP govt. cheated Tollywood?

It has been 10 days since the much-anticipated meeting between Chiranjeevi and AP CM Jaganmohan Reddy was held. Post the meeting, Chiranjeevi briefed the press and said that the CM has promised him that there will be good news for Tollywood in the next 7-10 days. The megastar further added that the CM assured him that he will relook into the G.O 35.

With more than a week over since the meeting, there has been no update or even an inclination of change from the government’s side. The G.O which controlled the ticket prices much to Tollywood’s dismay has been the central point of discussion for many months now.

The AP government has stated that it is committed to the betterment of the industry as well as a common cine goer. To come to a resolution on this many meetings were held as well.

The industry is also silent now as there are no films to release. This is the main issue with the industry as they are fighting only when they have releases which is becoming an advantage for the AP government. Amidst no releases in the near future and the AP government’s total silence on the promised new G.O. it appears that the issue will get dragged much further.

Is Shyam Singha Roy yet another misjudged movie in theatres ? The movie released on 24th December 2021 and received mostly positive responses from the audience. But due to some negative reviews, the film’s overall collections were affected, and it ended up as above average at the box office.

But the film is now streaming on Netflix and is receiving widespread love from movie lovers. People cannot stop raving about Nani and Sai Pallavi’s chemistry on-screen. Netizens are calling Shyam Singha Roy an underrated film, while also adding that the second half, interval bang, and the temple fight are the plus points of the movie.

People are in awe of Nani’s transformation as Shyam Singha Roy. He has completely justified his tag as the ‘Natural Star’ with his performance in this film. Sai Pallavi’s dance moves and expressions are receiving love as well. Shyam Singha Roy is being termed as a classic.

Samantha set to sizzle in Vijay Devarakonda’s Liger

Allu Arjun’s Pushpa was one of the most talked-about movies of the year. While the Icon Star’s acting and Sukumar’s direction stood as major talking points, Samantha’s item song U Antava.. Uu Antava stood as another highlight.

Samantha received great applause and whistles for her sizzling performance in the song. This special song ended up as a massive hit not just in Tollywood but in other regions as well.

Now the Liger team is keen to get Samantha on board for their project as well. According to reports, the unit is planning to get the actress in for a special song in this Vijay Deverakonda starrer sports drama.

Both Samantha and Vijay have earlier shared screen space in 2018 superhit Mahanati. The duo played the roles of journalists in this biopic and their performance was well appreciated.

Liger is going to be released in a total of five languages- Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, and Tamil. This is the first pan-Indian film for Vijay Devarakonda and fans are having sky-high expectations on it.

Liger also stars Ananya Pandey, Ramya Krishnan, and Mike Tyson among others. Puri Jagannadh is the director of the film, and Karan Johar is producing the film under Dharma Productions. Liger will release on August 25th, 2022.

Now, Akhanda is breaking records on OTT as well. It has set a new record in terms of impressions within the first hour for any Telugu film across all OTT platforms. It has also achieved 1 million views in just one day. The film is streaming on the Disney+Hotstar platform.

The main USP of the film is Balakrishna’s mass avatar as Shivudu the Aghora. Fans of Balayya have been waiting to see their star in a role like this since Legend in 2014.

Mahesh Babu Attends His Brother’s 13th Day Ceremony

Mahesh Babu’s elder brother Ramesh Babu passed away on the evening of January 8th in Hyderabad. Ramesh Babu was struggling with health issues for over a while now and was receiving treatment at AIG Hospital. He suffered an unfortunate heart attack on 8th January and was declared dead in the evening.

Mahesh Babu attended the 13th-day ceremony today. Mahesh and Ramesh Babu shared a great bond with each other. They have worked in a few films together as well. Ramesh also produced Mahesh’s Athidi. He also shared a special heartfelt note about his brother.
