Tamil Distributors Minting Money With Tollywood Movies

After COVID-19, many of the Telugu distributors have stepped back and chosen to avoid acquiring the distribution rights for the overseas regions of films. Rightly so because many films were performing poorly at the start of COVID-19, especially in the USA.

But of late, many Tamil distributors have come forward and bagged the rights for a few Telugu films in the overseas regions. Some of the most successful outcomes are Love Story, Pushpa: The Rise, and Bheemla Nayak. All these movies have posted good collections overseas despite COVID-19.

With cases slowly coming to a standstill in the country, Telugu distributors will surely step back into the market again. There is a huge lineup of biggies in the upcoming weeks ahead. Close interest will be placed on Radhe Shyam, RRR, Sarkaru Vaari Paata and so on.

Ajith’s Valimai Heading Towards A Failure At Box Office

Ajith’s Valimai was released on February 24th 2022 with huge expectations and an action-packed trailer. But the movie immediately received mixed responses from the audiences and was dismissed as an average film. Valimai did well on the weekends but dropped on the weekdays.

The movie managed to sustain a good hold in Tamil Nadu due to the weekend advantage but now the collections have dipped.

In Kerala, the film opened with average numbers but the run was cut short within just 1 week and Valimai ended up becoming a failure in Kerala. The movie has not done great in Karnataka either.

Coming to the Telugu states, Bheemla Nayak crushed any chances of Valimai. It is running towards a loss venture in AP as well as Telangana. The Hindi version of the film is an outright disaster with no interest for the film in the North. The overseas collections are also not looking good for the film.

In conclusion, Valimai is a disappointing venture from Ajith after the blockbuster success of Viswasam and Nerkonda Paarvai.

Odeon BFI IMAX situated in London Waterloo is the biggest screen in UK. Watching a movie at the BFI IMAX will give you an immersive experience. It is said that the screen is almost as big as five double decker buses. For a big film like RRR we need a bigger experience. No other Indian movie is screened at BFI IMAX. So Indians in UK cannot wait longer as they know what the ace director Rajamouli can deliver. They want to witness their stars on the biggest screen. It is heard that UK distributor is planning for a massive release for RRR in 1000 screens.

Koratala Siva taking too much time to start NTR’s film !

Koratala Siva was on limelight till Bharat Ane Nenu and he was also considered as the next big thing with this repeated successes. But things changed afterwards when he started working for Acharya with Megastar Chiranjeevi. This project took so much time and even the script of the film was changed many times. Mahesh Babu was reported to play one of the roles but the role went to Ram Charan Tej eventually. This made the film a Multi-starrer.

Since then Koratala Siva suffered a bit to handle both the stars as Ram Charan Tej became unavailable for the film due to his commitments with RRR directed by Rajamouli. The pandemic Corona too disrupted film’s shoot. Acharya has not yet released but Koratala Siva’s upcoming film with Jr.NTR too is taking too much time to start as it appears.

Acharya was supposed to release during 2020 but the pandemic corona changed things. Since then Acharya took a deep break from the release. Koratala Siva literally had no release since his last outing Bharat Ane Nenu which released in 2018. Jr. NTR too the same fate with his last outing being Aravinda Sametha which too was released in 2018. Fans felt happy for both joining hands for the next film projected as #NTR30. But the film is taking longer time than expected leaving both have no release since 2018 ironically. The reasons for this delay is unknown. NTR became busy with RRR’s promotions which is about to release this March. So let’s expect them to kick start their project as soon as possible.

Pawan Kalyan’s next film also to be a Remake ?!

Pawan Kalyan has recently starred in the Telugu remake of Malalayam blockbuster Ayyappanum Koshiyum starring Biju Menon and Rana Daggubati. It appears that he has decided again to do a remake as a quickie ! But what makes him think to do three Remakes consecutively is one wonders !

Pawan Kalyan doing remakes is nothing new. He has starred in many Tamil and Hindi remakes. But this time it is looking very obvious that he wants to play it safe completely. After finishing Vakeel Saab, a remake of Pink Pawan Kalyan agreed to do a film with Harish Shankar titled as Bhavadeeyudu Bhagat Singh. He is also a part of director krish’s new film Hari Hara Veeramallu which also has it’s motion poster released with Pawan Kalyan doing some stunts.

But all of a sudden Pawan put both on the back-burner and it appears that he is going ahead with another remake to much suprise. The film is a remake of Tamil film, Vinodhaya Sitham directed by Samuthirakani. This remake film will also be headed by Samuthirakani as the director with Trivikram again doing the writing and screenplay work like how he did to Bheemla Nayak. This is disappointing news to his fans and admirers who felt happy when Pawan okayed two straight films. But Pawan going back again to a remake is making them feel bad.

This film as said will be a quickie with very less shooting days. No one knows if this film will be released in the theatres or OTT platforms. But it is surely a disappointing news to his fans.

News circulating about Yash’s KGF 2 Trailer is fake!

Rocking Star Yash’s KGF 2 is going to be bigger and grander than the first installment. The film is all set to release on April 14th and the fans are eagerly waiting for the KGF 2 Trailer. Recently, reports started making rounds that the much awaited trailer will release on March 8th.

However, the makers have clarified that the news is false and the trailer release date will be directly notified by them. The film’s teaser was released early last year and created a storm at YouTube. The teaser has so far registered a whopping 240 million + views.

Something similar is expected out of Yash’s KGF 2 trailer. While the exact release date is not out yet, it is guaranteed that many YouTube records will be revisited on that day.

The movie, like all other pan-India biggies has seen multiple release date delays. It was supposed to release last year but got pushed due to Covid. Now, Prashant Neel and Homabale Films are fixated on April 14th and the fans have already started the countdown

Raveena Tandon, Sanjay Dutt, Anant Nag, Prakash Raj, and Srinidhi Shetty among others. Prashant Neel is the director of the movie and Hombale Films have produced the movie. Ravi Basrur is the music director of the film. The film is scheduled for a grand release on April 14th in theatres.

Naga Chaitanya Starts Shoot for his OTT Debut

Naga Chaitanya is in a success spree. His recent outings Love story and Bangarraju are well received by the audience. He has an interesting line up as well. His Bollywood debut movie “Laal Singh Chaddha” is all set to release on 14th April, 2022. Laal Singh Chaddha featuring Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor is a remake of Tom Hanks’s Forrest Gump in which Naga Chaitanya is playing a vital role. Naga Chaitanya’s next film in tollywood is ‘Thank You’ with the director Vikram K Kumar. Mean while they both announced their OTT debut series.

Vikram K Kumar is known for his interesting concepts. Now he came up with another interesting project with Naga Chaitanya. Young hero through his Instagram’s post announced the Title of the web series which is speculated to be a horror thriller. The pic indicates that the Shoot has begun. Naga Chaitanya’s initiation to enter into OTT world is the new talk of the town now.

Naga Chaitanya’s post featuring the web series title “Dootha” along with the W.H. Auden’s quote on the script book that says “I and the public know What all the schoolchildren learn, Those To whom evil is done  Do evil in return” created curiosity among the audience. It’s heard that Priyanka Arul Mohan plays the female lead. Dootha will be streamed on Amazon Prime.

Overseas audience expect only family genre movies from Trivikram ?

Trivikram is undoubtedly one of the biggest brands of Tollywood in the overseas market. His following in the overseas market is no lesser than that of a star hero. In fact, all of Trivikram’s films release with great expectations and give out positive opening reports in the USA.

However, in long run, it can be noticed that only family entertainers end up creating records. Be it Attarintiki Daredi, AAa, or Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, the family entertainer genre has clearly worked out in Trivikram’s favour. The mass entertainers like Aravinda Sametha started well and gave a blockbuster opening and positive reviews. However, from there, the numbers started slowing down and saw huge dips.

The same is happening now with Bheemla Nayak. For the audience, Trivikram is the heart and soul of Bheemla Nayak and his touch was visible in the way changes were made in the films. These changes were well appreciated and added further push to this action entertainer in the domestic market.

Coming to the USA market, the openings were fantastic and reviews were unanimously positive but the film is struggling in running. If this continues, Bheemla Nayak may end up somewhere around AAa numbers.

Whenever a star hero’s film releases in Tollywood, the most common thing we are hearing now a days is “The film is having a blockbuster first weekend”.  Are all those films are real blockbusters? The answer is No why because some movies didn’t fare well on long run. Or is it because they started with blockbuster talk? Again the answer is No as few films started with mixed reviews but still managed to have record numbers after first weekend. So this is a curious case of Tollywood star hero movies and their first weekend at box office.

From Maharshi all star heros’ movies are performing well on first weekend irrespective of talk. Even though few movies started with mixed talk, they performed extremely well on weekend. Maharshi, Pushpa , Akhanda opened with mixed reviews but the weekend numbers of those films are terrific . With disaster talk Saaho delivered record weekend box office numbers. Syeraa Narasimha Reddy, Sarileru neekevvaru, Ala Vaikuntapuramlo, Vakeel Saab, Bheemla Naayak, all these movies have registered huge record weekend numbers at box office.
