Bheemla Nayak 2nd Weekend Box Office Report – Below Par

Pawan Kalyan and Rana Daggubati starrer Bheemla Nayak opening big on Day 1 thanks to the star image of Pawan Kalyan. The film is a remake of Malayalam blockbuster Ayyappanum Koshiyum. Trivikram wrote dialogues and did few changes to the film. The film went on to collect more than 30 crores on the day 1 itself. It even did good till the first weekend. The holiday of Maha Shivarathri too helped the film mint more money.

Bheemla Nayak has completed its 1st week run by collecting a share of 83.2Crs worldwide. This is the career best week for Pawan Kalyan. But the film is struggling on weekdays. Now the second weekend seems to be not helping the film causing more damage. The collection of the 2nd weekend is close to 5 crores which is shocking. This is is very low when compared to Pushpa and Akhanda.

The overall worldwide share after 2nd weekend will be somewhere around 88 crores and the theatrical business is close to 107.6 crores. The film needs to collect another 20 crores for breakeven which almost looks impossible. Pawan Kalyan’s Vakeel Saab too met the same fate.

This makes one thing clear that his choosing of remakes is not going well with audience. Other films like Pushpa and Akhanda etc are having repeat audience for every week. Pawan Kalyan’s remakes are offering nothing that suit to his image. He might be doing these films for his own political gains. Ticket prices are not an issue as same prices were levied on Pushpa and Akhanda. So what is making wrong is his selection of films which are already watched by many. Moreover his star image is not suitable for such films’ remakes.

Sebastian 1st Weekend Box Office Report – Disastrous

Kiran abbavaram starrer Sebastian is heading towards a disaster. This is his third venture after Raja Vaaru Rani gaaru and SR Kalyanamandapam. These two films had a strong youth factor and family sentiments resulting in some success. Sebastian P.C. 524 is about a Police constable played by him suffering from night blindness. This generally rises some expectations with the comedy element in it. The film however didn’t strike well with the audiences. The film is heading towards a disaster after it’s first weekend.

Sebastian initially planned for release on 25 february postponed for a week to avoid clash with Bheemla Nayak. Kiran Abbavaram spoke great about the film applauding the film’s theme and his performance. He looked very confident about the success of the film. The entire cast too relied on the comedy element the film offers. The theatrical business of the film was also good but the movie opened to disastrous talk and openings from the first show. On the opening day itself the film suffered to recover the rents in most of the stations. Many theatres have cancelled the shows and replaced the film with other films in the first weekend itself. The film might end up as an outright disaster if we go by the rental basis.

What went wrong ?

Kiran Abbavaram who rose to fame with his short films did Raja Vaaru Rani gaaru as his debut film. This film had a major backing of comedy, love story and youth elements which made the film a known one. His next film SR Kalyanamandapam written by himself too had the same youth aspects mixed with Sai Kumar’s solo performance which too saved the film. But his choosing of Sebastian as a police with a serious subject and performance didn’t go well the audience.

The projected comedy in the film too didn’t workout. The major night blindness element used for the comedy in the film didn’t generate laughs it seems. The film also took a serious turn from the second half which too was completely rejected by the audience. Over confidence of the entire cast and crew costed badly for the film. He now has almost 5 films in line which might have an effect. Let’s wait and see what happens

Rift between Prabhas and Pooja Hegde ?

Prabhas and Pooja Hegde starred alongside for their film Radhe Shyam slated for release on March 11. Both worked for more than a year for this film. This film is Prabhas’ next venture after Sahoo. Both shared good chemistry even in the teasers and trailer of the film. The film is a periodic drama with much extravaganza.

Now it appears that all is not well between both. There are lot of rumours that came in Radhe Shyam shoot about the differences happened between them. It was even rumoured that they were not in talking terms too. Ahead of the film’s release the team started planning for the promotions. Prabhas along with the rest of the cast is busy giving interviews to many channels and social media wings. Pooja Hegde too attended some of these interactions.

If we look close at the behavior of them in these promotions, this might even look true. Pooja Hegde looks very uncomfortable in these interviews. The rapport between both as a pair doesn’t look good in these interactions. Prabhas who is known for simplicity is referred to as Darling by many in the industry. Pooja Hegde too doesn’t have kind of differences with anyone.

One wonders what made them to have a difference. Is it related to the film or about any other issue Or it just a rumour ? It has to be seen in the future related events. It would be better if both clear air about these rumours.

Nagababu taking revenge on Mohanbabu !

Nagababu seems to be taking revenge on Mohanbabu keeping in view of the latter’s active participation in Movie Artistes’ Association (MAA) Elections 2021 campaign. Mohanbabu’s son Manchu Vishnu contested for the president post. Much drama happened in these elections with the two participating groups taking sides.

One sided with Mega Family and the other sided with Mohanbabu. Prakash Raj stood as the candidate which even made things worse. His open comments against Mohanbabu too didn’t go well. Nagababu actively supported Prakash Raj and he too made comments against Vishnu and Mohanbabu. But ultimately Vishnu won against Prakash Raj. This angered both Prakash Raj and Nagababu.

Nagababu earlier made some comments against Balakrishna who made some comments against his brother Pawan Kalyan. He uploaded some videos on YouTube openly criticizing him. This way he had revenge on Balakrishna. Now it’s Mohanbabu’s turn it seems. Recently there is a major issue happened in Mohanbabu’s house. His personal hair dresser has quit the job and left his house. He accused Mohanbabu and Manchu Vishnu of bashing and torturing him. He uploaded a video to this effect.

Nagababu has come to the rescue of this guy. He came forward and met him and his family personally. He even helped him financiallly by offering 50,000 rupees and promised to support him more. There is no need of Nagababu’s involvement here. But one can clearly see this as a revenge act of Nagababu towards Mohanbabu.

On the other hand both Mohanbabu and his family are tight-lipped about this incident. These kind of acts by Nagababu are troubling both Megastar Chiranjeevi and his fans. It would be better for Nagababu to remain silent on such incidents.

Bad luck continues for Sharwanand !

Sharwanand has been doing films for the past 15 years. He had only some hit films in his career. He didn’t even score a proper hit for the past five years. His previous hit film happens to be Mahanubhavudu directed by Maruthi. That film also had a Maruthi branding. Sharwanand hasn’t scored a hit ever since. All his attempts failed miserably at the Box-office. His recent outing Aadavallu Meeku Joharlu directed by Tirumala Kishore too seems to end up as yet another failure for him. This way bad luck continues for Sharwanand. He is completely upset with these flops it seems.

His other hit film alongwith Mahanubhavudu, Shatamanam Bhavathi released during Sankrathi did good at the box-office. Family emotions were a major asset of that film. His next films Radha, Padi Padi Leche Manasu, Ranarangam, Jaanu, Sreekaram and Mahasamudram ended up as flops. He had high hopes on his recent film, Aadavallu Meeku Joharlu banking on the lady sentiment. But this too didn’t workout.

Sharwanand rejected Arjun Reddy which came his way before it went to Vijay Deverakonda. Arjun Reddy’s director Sandeep Reddy Vanga initially approached Sharwanand for the lead role. Sharwanand rejected the film reasons known only to him. This too caused a big damage to him.

Sharwanand lacked Mass appeal and comic image which some of his generation heroes had. His counterpart, Actor Nani somehow managed to bank on comedy elements in his films. Irrespective of the genre, Nani takes care of the comedy aspects in his films which saves him. It’s high time that Sharwanand concentrates on his next films and rectifies his mistakes.

Ajith’s Valimai performing well on second weekend !

Ajith starrer Valimai opened big on Day 1 and gained a mixed talk. It had an excellent weekend in Tamil Nadu box office. After the weekend the film has dropped drastically. The film even failed to perform well on the festival day but surprisingly the film witnessed a big jump on Saturday in collections and today’s bookings are good in all areas.

Valimai focused on the effects of drugs, robbery and motorbike’s rash driving on Youth. Telugu Actor Karthikeya played the role of baddie driving them all. This is his debut in Tamil film. Ajith choosing a bike racing concept completely is new. This generally raised much expectations. Ajith’s prior films had only some action sequences which concentrated on these bike action stunts. But Valimai was completely projected as an action based story with full of stunts. The film generally lacked the elements expected in a star hero film naturally. But being projected as a racing drama helped this film somehow. Thanks to the budget supplied by Boney Kapoor.

Valimai had a repeated viewing by the family audience even though the film has an action based drama as the backdrop. This shows about the repeat value the film getting. We need to see how the film holds on the second weekend.

Big shock to Puri-Vijay Deverakonda’s Jana Gana Mana !

Puri Jagannadh and Vijay Deverakonda are currently doing Liger, touted to be a boxing drama starring latter alongside Ananya Panday. Planned as a Pan-India project with Karan Johar as one of the producers, this film is scheduled to release in all the Indian Languages. In the same way Puri Jagannadh has okayed another project with Vijay Deverakonda. The title under consideration for this project is Jana Gana Mana. Puri considered Mahesh Babu for the leadrole. Due to creative differences between the both, Mahesh Babu opted out of the project. Puri Jagannadh is going ahead with Vijay Deverakonda now.

The film, Jana Gana Mana based on a patriotic drama is under pre-production works with a massive budget of 100 crores. It will have a Pan-India release under the same title. But in a major setback, another film is gearing up with the same title, Jana Gana Mana. This is a malayalam film starring Pruthviraj Sukumaran and Suraj Venjaramoodu.

What shocks even more is the release date of this film which is on April 28 this year which is just a month ahead. Puri Jagannadh and Vijay Deverakonda’s Jana Gana Mana is not even under filming. It remains surprising to be seen what both could do to either change the title or plan for another title.

Sathyaraj who played one of the roles in Bahubali as Kattappa says he played the role in Radhe shyam only for Prabhas. Sathyaraj who is a renowned tamil actor did a cameo role in Radhe Shyam. This role was played by Veteran Tollywood Actor, Krishnam Raju in Telugu who also happens to be Prabhas’ Paternal Uncle. Sathyaraj was approached to play this role for the Tamil version.

Sathyaraj who was a Tamil Actor played an important role as father of Prabhas in Mirchi. He also played one of the major roles in Bahubali as Kattappa, guardian of Bahubali Prabhas. Friendship of Prabhas and Sathyaraj had grown since these film between the two actors. This friendship has led the makers to approach him for the role. Sathyaraj too okayed the role without any hesitation.

Moreover this kind of approach even offers the film a Pan-India appeal. So Prabhas too might have requested Sathyaraj to be a part of this project. On the other hand, Radhe Shyam trailer received good applause from all section of audiences. Radhe shyam is gearing up for release on March 11. It is going to be the third Pan-India film for Prabhas after Bahubali and Sahoo. If this film strikes well with audience Prabhas might completely focus on his journey even in Bollywood. Prabhas is currently doing Project K directed by Nag Ashwin and Adi Purush directed by Om Raut.
