Suriya achieved stardom with his Ghajini not only in his home state Tamil Nadu but also in AP/TS. He further increased his stardom with Singam & Singam 2 released as Yamudu & Yamudu 2 in Telugu. Both became huge hits in both languages. This made him one of the biggest stars in South India once. Surprisingly since then Suriya is struggling to score a big hit. He did many films after the Singam series which brought him success no where near to them. He hoped lots of hopes on the third film of Singam series S3. This too became failure at box-office. Continuous flops and disasters have made him lose the entire market and he hit a downfall in the stardom.

His recent two films Soorari Pottru released as Akasam Nee Hadduraa in Telugu and Jai Bhim released directly on OTT. However this shocked everyone. A star like Suriya opting for an OTT release shocked all. These two films received critical acclaim. But hit status of these films cannot be judged based on their release on OTT. He did Etharkkum Thunindhavan, stylized as ET in all lanuages, under the direction of Pandiraj. He had high hopes on this film. But the advance bookings of ET are proving to be disastrous and it indicates that he is not a star hero once he was anymore.

The emergence of Young Heroes, Siva Karthikeyan and Vijay Sethupathi as leading stars in Tamil proved a big blow to Suriya who seemed to be in the third position after Vijay and Ajith in Tamil. Siva Karthikeyan and Vijay Sethupathi, once used to be small actors grew big with each and every film and achieved huge stardom impressing all sections of audiences with their films. These both highly attracted Youth and family audiences completely cementing their positions as leading stars. More so that Siva Karthikeyan scoring a sole 100 crore film with his recent outing Doctor.

Already established hero Dhanush has grown even more big with his unique films attracting all audiences. Suriya even his lost his market once he had in Andhra with these continuous flops. All these struck Suriya. It’s high time that Suriya thinks about his choosing of films and concentrate on doing films that attracts all sections of audiences. His ET is gearing up for release on March 10th. The box-office performance of this film is very crucial for Suriya.

Andhra Pradesh government on Monday approved a new G.O. on permitting new shows and ticket price hikes. Big budget film like Radhe Shyam and RRR waited and postponed their film’s release for the ticket price hike. It looks like the wait is worth for Radhe Shyam and RRR ! This also made the makers of both the films pumped up with joy. Now it for the industry to watch the next move of box-office performance of Radhe Shyam which is slated for release on March 11. Radhe Shyam made on a budget of more than 100 crores is awaiting for it’s fate at the Box-office.

What makes it a whole industry issue is regarding the ticket hike prices. Radhe Shyam with the earlier normal ticket prices wouldn’t have fared well considering it’s budget and theatrical business. But now with 5 shows and ticket hike prices it looks somewhat good. It is the first film to release with these hikes after a long time. This is making the industry to have it’s eyes on Radhe Shyam’s opening figures.

In recent times the footfalls of many films are not huge in AP due to the less ticketing price brought by the Government. Now the industry is looking for Radhe Shyam getting the same record foot falls earlier. But they are also doubtful about people’s effect because of the hike in ticket prices. This is making even the upcoming biggies like RRR watch closely at the box-office performance of Radhe Shyam. This film is very crucial now. This explains about people’s interest to see the films at high prices. Let’s wait and see what happens.

The movie genre is impacting the internal business of Prabhas’s Radhe Shyam

Prabhas’ Radhe Shyam is all set to release in 3 days and the hype is at an all-time high. The advance bookings and US premiere numbers have been quite an encouraging sight for UV Creations. Radhe Shyam is expected to break many opening records.

Radhe Shyam makers are now happy with the revised GO and ticket hikes. The ticket hikes have come in at the right moment. However, there’s a small concern that is troubling the makers now. The distributors are quoting big prices for internal business offers. However, the distributors are not getting a positive response from exhibitors, unlike Prabhas’ last release Saaho.

This is happening mainly due to the genre of the film. The promotional content and even the interviews have revolved around the film being a love epic. The movie will not have regular commercial action elements hence many buyers being over cautious and not taking the risk. However, with Prabhas’ star power, the movie is expected to ease out the fears of buyers in due course of time.

Prabhas is playing the role of Vikramaditya- a palmist and the trailers have filled the fans with great curiosity. Pooja Hegde stars opposite Prabhas and she is playing a medico named Prerna in the film. Radhe Krishna has directed this film bankrolled by UV Creations. Prabhas’ Radhe Shyam is a period romantic drama set in Europe and features stunning visuals.

Ravi Teja’s movie is compensating the loss of Sharwanand’s movie

Sharwanand’s recent family entertainer Aadavallu Meeku Joharlu has been a real disappointment for the makers. Right from day one, the performance of the film has been quite sub-par and the same continued into the second week as well.

The theatrical rights were sold at Rs 20Cr and Sharwanand’s Aadavallu Meeku Joharlu has not even collected 15% on its opening day. This family entertainer opened to below-par reviews and has failed to generate any buzz or attract the audience to theatres.

Aadavallu Meeku Joharlu has been bankrolled by Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Cinemas and they are now looking to compensate for the heavy losses incurred by the distributors. The makers have promised to offer Ravi Teja’s upcoming film Ramarao on Duty to these distributors in a bid to ease their financial strain.

Ramarao on Duty is backed by Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Cinemas and RT Team Works. Mass Maharaja in an action-packed roled. Ravi Teja plays a Deputy Collector who takes all necessary steps to ensure justice at any cost.

Sarath Mandava is making his directorial debut with this action entertainer. The recently released teaser was well appreciated and the distributors are hoping this offer from SLV Cinemas eases their burden. Ramarao on Duty stars Rajisha Vijayan and Divyansha Kaushik in lead roles.

Superstar Mahesh Babu & SS Rajamouli combo has been one of the most anticipated projects in Tollywood. Both Mahesh and Rajamouli have huge mutual admiration for each other. The duo has been planning to come together for a while. Now, the project has been made official and will go on floors once Superstar and SSR get free from their existing commitments.

Mahesh had recently confirmed the project and stated that this will be a pan-India project. He further added that this will also mark his entry in Hindi.

“I have always wanted to do the right film at the right time if it was a Hindi film. And I think the time is now… my next is with SS Rajamouli sir and that will be in all languages,” he said during an interview.

Mahesh Babu and Rajamouli’s project has got everyone on their toes eagerly awaiting in anticipation. As per reports, Alia Bhatt is being considered as the lead opposite Superstar. Rajamouli is currently focused on his upcoming project RRR and will then move on to this much-awaited film. Amidst all this waiting there’s another massive ongoing buzz in Tollywood circles. Rajamouli has reportedly approached Tamil star Vikram to play the villain for this prestigious project.

The Mahesh-Rajamouli film is going to be an action-adventure film with a totally unique backdrop and never-before visuals. The ace director along with his father K Vijayendra Prasad is currently developing the script.

Pawan Kalyan’s Bheemla Nayak is a loss venture in all territories

Pawan Kalyan’s Bheemla Nayak released amidst massive anticipation and fans’ excitement on February 25th. Staying true to the buzz, this action entertainer had a solid opening and an excellent first weekend. This was followed by the Shivaratri holiday where the film continued its good performance.

However, since then Bheemla Nayak has seen huge drops. The movie is nearing the end of its run and has collected around 90Cr share worldwide for 11 days. It might go on to collect another 2-3 crores by the end of its run. Pawan Kalyan’s Bheemla Nayak is a profitable venture outside Telugu states. But, in the Telugu states, it is a loss venture in all 8 regions.

Ceeded, in particular, is a huge loss region for this Pawan Kalyan and Rana starrer. Overall, Powerstar’s hunt for massive commercial success continues. Pawan Kalyan’s ferocious performance and Rana’s terrific screen presence along with Thaman’s superb music were the highlights of the film.

Bheemla Nayak Hindi version was scheduled to release simultaneously on 25th February. This was later postponed to March 1st week. The makers had also released posters and trailers of the Hindi version. However, now it appears that this may be pushed further as there are no promotions happening at all. With Radhe Shyam releasing on 11th March and RRR releasing on 25th March, it looks like Hindi version of Bheemla will have to wait.

Ajith’s Valimai crosses 150 cr gross mark at Box-office !

Ajith and Karthikeya starrer Valimai opened very big on day 1. The film collected more than 30 crs share on the opening day itself. However the film lost the pace and started to decline after the weekend. The film projected as racing drama completely relied on action stunts. But the film perfomed well in the second weekend surprisingly. The film generated some repeat viewing. Now Valimai crossed 150 crore gross mark at the box-office after the second weekend.

Valimai’s total theatrical gross business is valued at nearly 187 crores. The film needs to gross 37 crores more to achieve breakeven status. The film grossed nearly 100 crs at Tamil Nadu box-office alone. It needs to gross another 15 crore to hit breakeven status there. It grossed nearly 4.75 crores in AP/TS and needs to collect more than 1 crore to achieve at least breakeven status.

These numbers are not sufficient for hit status. The film needs to gross more than 50 crores to achieve a hit status. The film having a action and motorbike racing concept might have not worked well with audience. Ajith’s star image is pulling the film to 150 cr gross mark. We have to wait and see where the film might end up.

“Come on Come on Kalavathi” The sensational first single from Superstar Mahesh babu’s Sarkaru vaari paata is now everyone’s favourite. The song’s reach is phenomenal and it shattered all the records. Thaman’s classical touch, Sid Sriram’s beautiful rendering and superstar’s super screen presence along with graceful hook step made this a true classic in recent times.

After the first single blockbuster, fans are waiting for the second single with lot of expectations. Few fans are expecting it to be a title track and few are expecting to be a massy duet of the lead pair. It is heard that the second single will be released on the occasion of Holi.

In form music director Thaman came with an update on the second single recently. Industry insiders reveal that SVP second single announcement will be made on 11th of this month and the song will be released on 18th on the occasion of Holi. The song which is going to be released is shot in Spain. If this is true, Holi is going to be more colourful for Superstar fans.

Big budget film like Radhe Shyam and RRR waited and postponed their film’s release for the ticket price hike. It looks like the wait is worth for Radhe Shyam and RRR ! Earlier released film Bheemla Nayak went ahead with the release without any hikes in ticket prices. This proved bad for Bheemla Nayak. But Radhe Shyam and RRR makers waited for the right time and are pumped up with joy.

Radhe Shyam and RRR are made on a budget of more than 100 crores as claimed by makers. However with the existing prices in AP, it looks very difficult for these films to achieve a hit status. So they postponed their films many times until the release of new G.O. by the government. Stars like Prabhas, Mahesh Babu, Chiranjeevi and Rajamouli met AP CM Jagan Mohan Reddy in person and appealed for the same. Looks like the government agreed to their pleas.

However there are some more things in G.O. The G.O. mainly concentrates on encourage small budgeted films. One of the conditions is High Budget Films (100 Cr without remuneration for both hero and director) will be allowed Special Rates only if 20% shooting is done in AP. As 20% of Radhe Shyam and RRR movies are not shot in AP , according to G.O. these two films are not eligible to get the special hikes. But AP Cinematography Minister Perni Nani made it clear that Radhe Shyam and RRR are exempted from this G.O. This made the makers have some relief. Both films can now have a special show and ticket hike prices. Radhe Shyam is slated for release on March 11 and RRR on 25 March.

Power star Pawan kalyan and Rana Daggubati starrer Bheemla Nayak Hindi version was supposed to release simultaneously with Telugu version but delayed due to few reasons. The makers released the Hindi trailer of the film recently as they thought of releasing the film in March 1st week. It seems that the makers have taken a back step with having the release of Radhe Shyam and RRR in March. 

With Zero promotions, it will be a blunder to release in Hindi. Though the audience know Rana Daggubati well with his films in Hindi, Pawan kalyan is familiar only for his craze but not with his films. So if makers want to generate money they have to release with proper promotions. It is heard that Bheemla Nayak may release in month of April after the storm of Radhe shyam and RRR calms down. 

A remake of the 2020 Malayalam film Ayyapanum Koshiyam, Bheemla Nayak  showcases a clash between sub-inspector Bheemla Nayak and ex-havildar, Daniel Shekar aka Danny after the latter crosses the border from Telangana into Andhra Pradesh in an inebriated State. The film is produced by S Naga Vamsi under his banner Sithara Entertainments and is directed by Saagar K Chandra. Also starring Nithya Menen and Samyukta Menon, ‘Bheemla Nayak’ will be released in Hindi by B4U and Grand Master.
