KGF Chapter 2 1st weekend Box-office performance and records

KGF Chapter 2 had a sensational 1st weekend box-office performance. It has collected 550 cr approx gross worldwide. This is the first film from Kannada film industry to score 500 cr worldwide gross. This also stands next to Bahubali 2, RRR and Dangal. This is indeed a great news for the KGF Fans.

KGF Chapter 2 Hindi nett is 190 crore+. This is a record 4 days collections for any movie. In Kerala the film’s gross for 4 days is close to 29 crore. This is also an all time record for 4 days there. The film is easily heading towards 1000 crore mark worldwide. On the other hand, the film has no competition with any film. Tamil film, Beast too didn’t generate the necessary talk and is finding it difficult to run in many centers and states. The film failed miserably in AP/TS where the film is sold for more than 10 crores share.

KGF Chapter 2 is phenomenal in AP/TS with the share crossing more than 40 crores in 3 days. The film’s Hindi run is too very good with the gross getting close to 200 crores there. The film needs to perform good for some more weeks to touch the 300 crore mark.

Nani trying hard to establish himself in South India

Natural Star Nani is now consciously looking to pick varied characters with great scope for experimentation in them. His last film Shyam Singha Roy was a period drama where he played a social reformer and writer. Next, he will be seen in a comic role in Ante Sundaraniki as a boy next door. Post this comedy entertainer, he will be seen in action-drama Dasara.

With so many varied characters lined up next, Nani is trying to expand his market beyond Tollywood. And unlike his contemporaries, it’s not the north market that he’s vying. It’s other southern languages that he’s looking to expand into.

Young hero Nikhil announces his pan India film

Tollywood’s young hero Nikhil has lined up a series of exciting projects next. He will be seen in a sequel of his earlier hit Karthikeya and will feature in a suspense thriller 118 opposite Anupama Parameswaran. Both these films have created a good buzz with their interesting concept posters.

Now the actor has added another interesting film to his filmography. This will be a pan-India project titled ‘Spy’. Editor turned director Garry BH will be making his directorial debut with this spy thriller. The film will release in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam and will release for Dasara 2022.

Varun Tej’s Ghani OTT Release Date locked

Varun Tej’s Ghani is gearing up for its OTT release pretty soon. While the film failed to attract the audience to the theatres, the makers are hoping that it will find success on the digital platform. Ghani will premiere on Aha on April 22nd.

Ghani was an ambitious project for director Kiran Korapati and was made on a massive budget of Rs40Cr +. The film however has failed to create the impact it intended and has not even recovers 1/10 on its 1st weekend. The 1st-weekend share is estimated to be less than Rs 4Cr

The makers had high hope for this project and left no stone unturned to give the movie a rich look. However, the chances of revival this week look extremely slim. Reflecting on the movie’s failure, Varun Tej penned down a note on social media. He stated that the vision of Ghani couldn’t translate properly and that he will work harder in future.

Saiee Manjrekar made her Telugu debut as the female lead. Kannada star Upendra and Bollywood star Sunil Shetty feature in important roles. Naveen Chandra, Jagapathi Babu, and Nadiya were also seen in the film in vitalroles. Debutant Kiran Korrapati has handled this sports drama while Thaman composed the music.
