NTR fans in revenge mode on Mega heroes and fans for RRR trolls

0

Acharya’s mostly negative reviews and low occupancies have been a shock to many trade analysts and Tollywood insiders. Despite the presence of top Mega heroes, the film has failed to grab the attention of the audience. Many are even terming it the weakest movie of Koratala’s career.

While this is a bad time if you’re a Mega fan, NTR fans on the other hand are not letting this opportunity go waste. The online NTR fandom is in revenge mode over the trolls made on NTR during the RRR release.

Many Mega fans claimed that Ram Charan was the hero of RRR while Tarak was just a side character. Mega fans even claimed that Ram Charan emerged as the true pan-India hero while Tarak went into oblivion.

Now NTR fans are giving it back to the naysayers and trolls. They are questioning the stardom of Charan and even Chiru who both failed to save Acharya. The presence of top mega heroes failed to save the sinking ship in this case.

The openings are disastrous NTR fans have started counter-attacking on mega-stardom by showing the early collections and occupancies of Acharya. This action entertainer is being panned by critics for being outdated and lacking any solid story at its core. The movie has received pretty unfavorable reviews all over.

Acharya disastrous early openings shock trade and industry circles

0

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Acharya hit the screens today and it would be safe to say that the response has been quite underwhelming. Despite featuring Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan, Acharya has failed to evoke the curiosity of common audience and is recording terrible early opening numbers.

In Tollywood star hero commercial films never failed to get the openings, Lot of commercial films have created opening records even with bad talk. It’s only after the initial weekend that bad movies with top heroes start seeing the drops. However, this is not happening in the case of this Koratala Siva movie.

Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan combo is one of the most special ones in Tollywood. Especially after RRR, everyone expected the film to open huge. However, the early morning shows have shocked entire trade and industry circles. The occupancies are very poor for early morning shows and the advance bookings for other shows also not that encouraging.

Despite this anomaly, trade and industry people are not able to pinpoint a reason for this lackluster start at box office.

Koratala Siva has directed this action entertainer which also stars Pooja Hegde, Tanikella Bharani, and Sonu Sood in key roles. Konidela Production Company and Matinee Entertainment have co-produced this Megastar film.

Acharya movie review: Flat and Boring lessons from Acharya

0

Movie: Acharya
Rating: 2/5
Cast: Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan, Pooja Hegde, Sonu Sood
Director: Koratala Siva
Produced By: Ram Charan, Niranjan Reddy, Anvesh Reddy
Release Date: April 29th, 2022

This is a season of Tollywood biggies and Mega Star Chiranjeevi’s much-awaited Acharya has joined the list of biggies aiming to put the box office on fire. This action entertainer has seen multiple delays and has been in making for so long that the audience even started losing interest in the film. The pre-release buzz for the movie has been quite cold. However, with Mega Star Chiranjeevi and Mega Power Star Ram Charan appearing on screen together, the anticipation amongst mega fans has gone skyrocketing. Can Acharya, sustain the interest of the general audience? Let’s find out.

Story: Acharya is a story set in the backdrop of a village called Dharmasthali. True to its name, the people of Dharmasthali are a religious bunch and simple and loving people. Here enters Basava (Sonu Sood) who is hell-bent on disturbing the peace and tranquility of the beautiful village for this personal gains. This is when Acharya (Chiranjeevi) enters and tries to establish the status quo in Dharmasthali in his own inimitable style. Who is Acharya? Why did he come to Dharmasthali? What’s his relation with Siddha (Ram Charan)? This is what the story follows.

Performances: Acharya is a movie that solely rests on Megastar’s shoulders with some support from Ram Charan. However, this film is a classic example of star power failing to salvage bad writing. The story and screenplay look outdated and are not in sync with the cinema of today. Megastar Chiranjeevi looks good on screen and lights it up in certain action sequences. However, his dialogue delivery looks slightly unnatural and so do his motives which are not justified properly. Ram Charan as Siddha has got some shades to his character but that comes out only in a few scenes. His role was initially supposed to be a cameo and was later extended. But we don’t see any massive change to movie’s fortunes due to that. Sonu Sood as Basava does what he’s been doing for more than a decade with nothing special to mention. As expected, there’s nothing to take home about Neelambari (Pooja Hegde) as well. She’s just there to fulfill the song and dance ‘requirement’ of the film.

Analysis: Acharya looks and feels outdated from the word go. From the first scene itself, the audience feels Acharya is a 1980’s film. Not even a single character or their emotion has been established. The music by Mani Sharma and action episodes barring a couple of them fail big time. Koratala Siva has failed to grasp the audience’s attention for the first time. Every single aspect of his direction exposes the inadequacy of the plot and even the Megastar can’t save the day. The VFX work is shoddy and not expected from an A-list movie such as this.

Plus Points:

  • Chiru and Charan few scenes in flashback
  • Interval block and a few scenes in the second half

Minus Points:

  • Outdated story and screenplay
  • Weak emotions
  • Forced emotions and action episodes
  • Music

Verdict: Acharya is the weakest film out of Koratala’s filmography. His usual touch of strong emotions and solid characterizations are missing. There are very few moments in the film that make the audience involved in the proceedings. Overall, it’s a missed opportunity to present Mega Star and Mega Power Star together at their heroic best.

Ajay Devgn fires on Kicha Sudeepa comments on Hindi language

0

Kannada Star hero Kicha Sudeepa popular in Telugu for his role in Rajamouli’s Eega. The star hero is now doing a pan India movie titled Vikrant Rona. Recently the star attended a film event and commented on Hindi language which led to a twitter war.

While talking about KGF2 success and pan India films, Sudeepa said “Hindi is no longer the national language of India. Bollywood is struggling to find success by dubbing in Telugu and Tamil. Today we are making films that are going everywhere”. These comments didn’t went well with Bollywood lovers.

Knowing this Bollywood star actor Ajay Devgan fired in twitter on Suddepa’s comments. Ajay Devagan posted a tweet in Hindi tagging Kicha Sudeepa. He asked the actor if he doesn’t feel Hindi as the national language then why are they releasing their movies in Hindi by dubbing them? The bollywood actor also added that Hindi was, is and always will be their mother tongue and national language. He concluded the tweet with the line Jan Gan Man.

Responding back to Ajay’s statement, Sudeepa tweeted “Hello Ajay Devgan sir.. the context to why I said that line is entirely different to the way I guess it has reached you. Probably will emphasis on why the statement was made when I see you in person. It wasn’t to hurt, provoke or to start any debate. Why would I sir 😁”.

Though Kicha Sudeepa cleared the misunderstanding, he respectfully questioned Ajay Devgn that what would have happened if he replied to Ajay’s Hindi tweet in Kannada. Hence after few tweets from Kicha, Ajay Devagan responded saying thanks to sudeepa for clearing he misunderstanding. He also said “we respect all languages and expect everyone to respect our language as well”.

Finally Kicha ended this with a tweet saying it would have been a happy moment if he received tweet from Ajay for a creative reason.

Acharya advance bookings is more effecting on Ram Charan stardom more than Chiranjeevi

0

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Acharya is releasing tomorrow. The project when started created a big buzz in Tollywood. When the successful director Koratala Siva combines with megastar, everyone expected a blockbuster. After the Lahe Lahe song, there is no exciting stuff from the team is released. The trailer too didn’t help to boost the hype.

Mega Powerstar Ram charan joined the project and the expectations reached sky high. Mega fans are excited with delight as they can see the father son duo together in a full fledged movie. That too Acharya is releasing after RRR’s huge success. So everyone expected that Ram Charan’s latest hit RRR will help Acharya.

But in fact Achraya advance bookings are not upto the mark in all territories. This isn’t expected with the huge combination and megastar’s charisma. As the film is releasing after RRR for Ramcharan, the bookings are more effecting on Ramcharan than Chiranjeevi. As of now it looks like RRR craze is not even helping 1% for Achraya which is surprising. Megastar is known for pulling the audience to theatres. So experts are expecting that walk ins will be more in Telugu states. We have to wait for Day 1 numbers to understand the trend.

Three actresses in Superstar Rajinikanth next film

0

Superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film with Nelson Dileepkumar has just become much more exciting. Rajinikanth 169 will now have Ramya Krishna, Aishwarya Rai and Priyanka Arul Mohan join the cast. It is rumoured that Priyanka will play Rajinikanth’s daughter in this one.

Ramya Krishna is reported to be playing a negative role in this much-awaited project. They have earlier given the blockbuster Padayappa (Narasimha) where the actress played antagonist to the Superstar.

This will be the second time Rajini will share the screen with Aishwarya Rai after Enthiran(Robo) in 2010. Sun Pictures are bankrolling the project and Anirudh is the music director of this movie which will be directed by Nelson Dileepkumar.

Nelson desperately needs a solid hit to his credit after his much-awaited film Beast with Vijay flopped. Even Superstar Rajinikanth is in search of a blockbuster in order to re-establish his supremacy at the Tamil box office.

His last two movies, Darbar and Annaathe have also been disasters at the box office. Annaathe failed to get a decent number overseas as well as in the Telugu states.

The shooting of Rajinikanth 169 will start soon and further updates will be released by Sun Pictures shortly. This will be the second time Nelson Dileepkumar will collaborate with Priyanka Arul Mohan. The two worked together on Nelson’s 2021 blockbuster ‘Doctor’.

Bollywood industry completely dependent on South cinema

0

With the Twitter feud between Ajay Devgn and Sudeep raging, the netizens were quick to point out the dependence of Bollywood on the Southern film industries. Just last week we saw the release of the Hindi remake of Nani’s Jersey.

Bollywood is a pale shadow of its former self and is completely dependent on Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada films. As many as 25 Bollywood remakes are lined up in the coming days. Ajay Devgn’s statement of Hindi being the national language carries no merit at all.

Films like Baahubali and KGF series, RRR and Pushpa have already established the box-office supremacy of southern films.

From Tamil, films like Vikram Vedha, Sorrrai Pottru, Kaithi, Aniyan, Aruvi, and Master are some of the films confirmed for Bollywood remakes.

Coming to Telugu, Ala Vaikunthapurramulo, Chatrapathi, Naandi, and F2 are some of the confirmed remake projects with many more on the way.

Many critically acclaimed Malayalam movies like Drishya, Ayyapannum Koshiyum, Hridayam and many more will be remade while U-Turn from Kannada is confirmed as of now.

With so many southern films being remade in Hindi, it is safe to say that Bollywood is now completely dependent on South cinema and it’s no longer the numero uno industry.

All versions of Theatrical rights are valued at 350Crs and the film has managed to cross the Breakeven in just 7 Days. Meanwhile, post the success of KGF2, rumours of a possible sequel have also cropped up. Both Prashanth Neel and Yash have responded positively to the next edition and have not ruled out the possibility of KGF 3.

Prashant Neel has shot the film on a much bigger scale than the first installment. This sequel film featured terrific high-octane action sequences and Yash and Sanjay Dutt’s scenes along with other action blocks were a feast for movie lovers. The film starred Raveena Tandon, Sanjay Dutt, Prakash Raj, and Srinidhi Shetty among others.

Sekhar Kammula planning for a political movie

0

After the thumping success of Love Story, Sekhar Kammula is upbeat about his next projects. He has an enviable filmography and every subject that he chooses has created a great emotional connection with the audience. This is why there is high anticipation for his upcoming projects.

His next project will be with Dhanush and will release in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi. SVC Cinemas will bankroll this project and there is high anticipation for this film. Meanwhile, he also confirmed a sequel to his 2010 political drama Leader. Rana Daggubati will be seen reprising his role from the original in Leader 2.

While this project is making waves, there are reports doing rounds that the director has picked another political subject for his upcoming film after the Dhanush project. If this materializes, it will be a treat for Sekhar Kammula fans. His sensibilities and ability to portray complex emotions and drama in a simplified manner have earned him a great following. And a political subject is a great way to showcase his immense skill set as it was visible in Leader.

Harish Shankar reveals a powerful dialogue from his next Pawan Kalyan film

0

Last year Harish Shankar confirmed that he will be joining hands with Powerstar Pawan Kalyan for another film. The return of this Gabbar Singh combo gave a great boost to the fans.

The movie has been titled Bhavadeeyudu Bhagat Singh and it appears that this will be a movie with a social message. The tagline on the first look poster read ‘This time it’s not just entertainment’ confirming the same.

Now the director has made another interesting revelation about the movie. He narrated the dialogue during Acharya promotional interview with Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan, and Koratala Siva.

According to Harish Shankar, in a particular scene, the villain will be amused looking at Pawan’s following amongst students and it will be followed by an elevation dialogue that states that “His power doesn’t lie in lakhs of students behind him. In fact, he is the strength of these lakhs of students.”

While this dialogue sounded eerily similar to that from KGF: Chapter 1, it needs to be seen how Harish Shankar picturizes this scene as this could be a great asset to the film.

This project will be bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers. Devi Sri Prasad is composing the music and the movie will star Pooja Hegde as lead actress and Bollywood actor Pankaj Tripathi as the antagonist.
