Shahid Kapoor, who last appeared in Deva, a remake of the Malayalam film Mumbai Police (2013), is all set to appear in another remake. Reportedly, Shahid Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter are all set to star in the Meiyazhagan Hindi remake.

Post-COVID, the remakes are being rejected by audiences. Because the audiences have been exposed to different languages’ content, they are keen to watch the original versions. Hindi movies that were remade from other languages, like CuttPutli (OTT Release), Vikram Vedha, Bhola, and the recent Deva, failed at the box office. 

Meiyazhagan Hindi Remake: Shahid Kapoor and Ishan Khatter to Play the Leads

Still, Bollywood has not learned the lesson. Prem Kumar’s Meiyazhagan, starring Karthi and Arvind Swamy, received huge acclaim across the languages, though the film did not do great at the box office.

The latest reports from the Bollywood circles suggest that Shahid Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter are all set to star in the Meiyazhagan Hindi Remake, with Shahid playing the character of Arvind Swamy while Karthi’s part will be played by Ishan.

As of now, there is no official announcement on this, but it is expected to be out soon. We should wait and see if this remake news is true or not.

Thug Life censor completed

Kollywood film, Thug Life starring Kamal Haasan and Simbu is slated for release on June 5th worldwide. The film’s Trailer was released a day ago, which created a sensation. It clocked more than 30 Million Views in 24 hours on YouTube, standing only next to Leo with 31.9 Million Views.

The censor formalities of the film have also been completed. Thug Life was given a U/A certificate and has a runtime of 165 minutes and 42 seconds, i.e., 2 hours 45 minutes and 42 seconds. The film’s plot has also been revealed.

The film is set in a mafia world full of crime and corruption. Rangaraaya Sakthivel (Kamal Haasan) and his brother Manickam save a young boy named Amaran (Simbu) during a horrific shootout with police and later adopt him. Years later, an assassination attempt happens on Sakthivel, and he suspects Amaran of it. He starts taking revenge on his brother and his adopted son, who betrayed him.

There are high expectations on the film, and the team also expects to score nothing short of a blockbuster. The team is also set to to conduct the Audio Launch on May 24th this month.
