Thug Life skips early OTT

Thug Life starring Kamal Haasan and Simbu is gearing up for release on June 5th worldwide. The film’s Trailer has been released and the team is preparing for the promotional activities of the film. The makers of the film have announced the OTT policy. Interestingly, Thug Life skipped the early OTT streaming.

Thug Life will be streamed after 8 weeks of its theatrical run. The makers have confirmed this and also declared that Netflix, the OTT partner, agreed to it. This gives big advantage for the film. With an 8 week gap window period, Thug Life can enjoy a good theatrical run and it may also have a big Hindi release as this 8 week gap period is mandatory in the North Indian belt.

If Thug Life succeeds in this plan of streaming after 8 weeks, then other films may also opt for the same. Recently, many Pan Indian biggies have been opting for a 4-week window and this has to change for the ideal theatrical performance.

Now, the film is even aiming to take the spot of second highest grosser of Malayalam Cinema,i.e, Manjummel boys which collected 242 Cr gross worldwide. Thudarum aims to cross this in its full run.

Massive Non-Theatrical Deal for Bhairavam

Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas has not tasted success for a few years, and it has been a while since his last Telugu film was released in theaters. However, it looks like his good time is back as his upcoming film, Bhairavam, sets a massive non-theatrical deal.

Sreenivas took a gap from Telugu films due to his Bollywood entry, Chatrapathi remake, which received a bad result at the box office. Even though the Alludu Seenu actor does not have a consistent theatrical market, his films always do good non-theatrical business.

The main reason for this is his films’ popularity in Hindi belts. Sreenivas’s Hindi-dubbed films get record views on YouTube, and on television, they also get big ratings. That is why his films lock in good deals.

This continues for his next release as well, according to the reports. Bhairavam sets a massive non-theatrical deal, as the rights are said to be gone for around 30 Cr. Bellamkonda Sreenivas himself officially confirmed this in the promotional interviews. 

The movie has been made on a budget close to 45 Cr. So more than 2/3 of the budget was recovered from non-theatrical business itself, and if the film collects 20 Cr in theatrical share, then the producer will be in the profitable zone.

With a positive talk, Bhairavam can easily achieve the target. The film also stars Manchu Manoj, Nara Rohit, Divya Pillai, and Aanandhi in crucial roles.

The OTT Giant Netflix announces the Rana Naidu Season 2 streaming date. Starring Venkatesh and Rana Daggubati, the action drama is created by Karan Anshuman. The first season was a good hit despite controversies around the adult content, and the viewers await the debut of the second season.

Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal is the new addition to the second part. Directed by Karan Anshuman, Suparn Verma, and Abhay Chopra, Rana Naidu Season 2 will be available for streaming on Netflix from June 13, 2025.

Netflix said that after becoming one of Netflix India’s breakout hits of 2023, the series is set to raise the stakes with more betrayal, reckoning, and high-octane drama. The second season will take a deeper look at the issues of family, power, and personal struggles, according to the makers. Film events taking political turn: #BoycottBhairavam trends

The pre-release event of Bhairavam starring Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas happened recently. The team expressed confidence in scoring a hit at the box office. However, in the event, Director Vijay Kanakamedala‘s speech became controversial when he expressed his political intention. This didn’t go well with the Netizens who have started trending #BoycottBhairavam on social media platforms.

Vijay Kanakamedala stated that the incoming of one person (hinting at Actor cum Politician Pawan Kalyan) a year ago into the Government had saved the Dharma. This unwanted political talk by the Director at a film event raised criticism and trolls, leading to the boycott calls of the film.

This happened earlier to Laila starring Vishwak Sen when Comedian Pruthvi Raj made a similar political talk in the pre-release event of the film. The team expressed their apology for his talk, but the damage was already done, and the film became a failure. Now, Netizens are coming out strongly against the film members and crew of Bhairavam for turning film events into political events.

This attitude of pleasing a Government and Actors who are part of the Government by targeting another Political party is of no use. Ultimately, it is the Producers and films that have to suffer, and it is better if film events stay non-political. On the other hand, there has been no response yet from the team or the Director regarding the boycott trend. Bhairavam is releasing on May 30th worldwide, and the team must hurry to mitigate the damage.

The most awaited teaser of War 2 released today on the occasion of NTR’s birthday. The Teaser looked just okay with the establishment of characters, but lacked wow elements, disappointing fans and audiences. Ironically, few VFX shots in the Teaser looked very shabby and felt troll-worthy.

After Baahubali, the Telugu Actors have started collaborating with Bollywood Production Houses and Directors for few exciting projects. One such film was Adipurush starring Prabhas. The film was panned heavily for its CG and VFX portions. Director of the film, Om Raut was mercilessly trolled for his improper handling of Prabhas. Now, Netizens also accused the makers and Director of War 2, Ayan Mukherji, of neglecting NTR’s portions.

Telugu Actors seemed to be handled well by only Tollywood makers if we look at things closely. Even with a heavy budget, these VFX mismanagement leaves many doubts and questions over the care taken of the Telugu Actors. Bollywood and its makers must concentrate well on these things.

Vishwambhara to Take Over Mirai’s Release Date?

It is widely known that Megastar Chiranjeevi’s fantasy film Vishwambhara, directed by Mallidi Vassishta, is delaying the release date. After missing a few major release dates, Vishwambhara is all set to take over Mirai’s release date.

Starring Teja Sajja and directed by Karthik Gattamaneni, Mirai was initially planned for an April release but was postponed to 1st August. However, due to pending work, there is a buzz in the industry that the movie is likely to be postponed again.

Now, the team has given an official statement to the media that a new schedule has begun. A new schedule for the film, featuring the major cast, has started in the historic caves of Mumbai.

“This pan-India action-adventure is set for a massive release in 8 languages, in both 2D and 3D.” If we observe this note, the release date is not mentioned. So, the film is certainly postponed.

Vishwambhara to arrive on Mirai’s Date?

Now, practically, if everything goes well with Vishwambhara’s business deals, this will be a good date for the team. Other big films, such as Hari Hara Veera Mallu, announced to be released on 12th June, Kingdom on July 4th, and WAR 2 on August 14th.

So, August 1st can be a perfect solo big release for Vishwambhara. maintaining a gap with other biggies. That is why the inside reports suggest that Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Vishwambhara is all set to take over Mirai’s release date.

The main hurdle for the film is the OTT deal. If the makers are successful in locking the OTT deal, then this date will be an appropriate date for the film.
