Tollywood is back to sets as producers’ strike called off

The recently announced shooting strike in Tollywood has been called off by the producers. The movie shootings that were stopped a couple of weeks ago will now resume with immediate effect.

Tollywood’s leading producer Dil Raju is along with the producer’s council made some decisions recently that have sparked controversy. This decision was directly targeted at Heroes and directors’ remunerations and aimed to put a slab on them. The announcement was made amidst the ongoing low phase Tollywood was facing last month with back to back flops.

The star Heros and star directors were not happy with Dil Raju’s decision as they don’t want to reduce their remunerations because of other movies’ failures. The star Heros and directors feel that their movies are doing well and they are able to pull the audience with brand and content.

Producers like Aswini Dutt and Bandla Ganesh have openly made statements against Raju. Aswini Dutt made it very clear that he will not stop the shootings of his films. “Our productions will not be a part of Dil Raju’s rules. We will continue our shooting” he added.

With Tollywood seeing 3 superhits in the last two weeks in the form of Bimbisara, Sita Ramam, and Karthikeya 2, it seems to be clear that content is the king, and issues like remunerations and payments can be settled face to face rather than going for a strike. The movies like Thank You, Pakka Commercial, The Warrior, and Ramarao OnDuty were low on content and failed. Similarly, the recent hit movies provided novelty and excitement and are bringing in huge collections. It’s that simple.

Producer Dil Raju on Tuesday shocked everyone by attending the Karthikeya 2 success event. His appearance was surprising because not long ago actor Nikhil had made statement saying that certain forces in the industry were trying to push the release of his film and that he was moved to tears because of this.

Netizens claimed that these ‘certain forces’ are none other than Dil Raju and team who made Nikhil postpone Karthikeya 2 multiple times so that their movies preference. In fact, as per sources the senior producer even tried to push Nikhil’s movie to October. Despite all the hurdles, the adventure thriller released on Saturday to packed houses and terrific reviews.

Karthikeya is doing superb business in the north as well. Meanwhile, Dil Raju has now lashed out media and netizens for spreading rumours against him.

At the success event, Raju said, ” Please don’t try to create animosity between the film industry by creating baseless rumours for the sake of your website’s popularity. I have always backed good cinema and will never try to hamper industry’s growth.”

During an interview with Open Heart With RK, Brahmaji shared a bit about his personal life. The actor who usually shies away from opening up too much about his personal life shared some interesting details about his marriage and kids.

Responding to his personal life, he said, “I fell in love with a beautiful Bengali girl and decided to get married to her. Before I married her, she had already had a marriage before that. I met her in Chennai and we immediately fell in love. I liked her a lot so I decided to tell my elders and then I got married to her.”

“At the time of marriage itself, she already had a son. When she already had a son, we thought why do we need to have children again? I thought to myself, is it necessary to have another child? That is when we decided that we do not want any more children.”

He further added, “That is the same boy that entered the Telugu Film Industry with O Pitta Katha.” It is very refreshing to our own actors have such progressive thoughts. We wish Brahmaji and his son, Sanjay Rao a successful career ahead in Tollywood.

Anurag Kashyap is currently busy promoting his film with Taapsee Pannu titled Dobaara. During one such interview with film critic Baradwaj Rangan, he spoke about India’s greatest chance at the Oscars, SS Rajamouli’s RRR.

Although Anurag openly stated that he did not particularly enjoy RRR, he said that RRR is India’s best chance at the Oscars. He said, “I did not think that RRR was SS Rajamouli’s best work, I think Eega, Magadheera, and Baahubali are better but I think it has a brilliant chance at the Oscars. If it is India’s official entry, there is a 99% chance that it gets nominated.”

He further justified his claims by saying, “I say this because the West is going mad over RRR. I have spoken to a lot of my Hollywood friends and they absolutely love the film. They love even the silly things about the movie. To them, they have discovered a new filmmaker in SS Rajamouli. The craze for RRR there is mindblowing, it will definitely be nominated if it is sent. I hope they send RRR and not Kashmir Files.” he added.

He also showered high praises on the South Indian Film Industry throughout the interview. He spoke about how Allu Arjun’s Pushpa and Yash’s Rocky Bhai are household names now. Anurag also added that Bollywood has lost that connection with audiences. When asked about some of his recent favorites, he said that he loved Pushpa: The Rise.

Producer Aswini Dutt is currently on cloud nine after the success of Sita Ramam. At a time when the industry was in a state of panic and confusion, Sita Ramam came as a sigh of relief for Aswini Dutt as well as the film industry in general.

ఇక పిల్లలు లేరు అనే విషయం పై కూడా బ్రహ్మాజీ ఈ ఇంటర్వ్యూలో చెప్పడం జరిగింది.. ఈ మేరకు బెంగాలీ అమ్మాయిని ప్రేమించి పెళ్లి చేసుకున్నట్లుగా బ్రహ్మాజీ చెప్పారు.. ఐతే పెళ్లి చేసుకునే సమయానికే ఆమె మాజీ భర్త నుంచి విడాకులు కూడా తీసుకున్నారట.. చెన్నై లో ఉన్నప్పుడే ఆమెతో తనకు పరిచయం ఏర్పడిందని బ్రహ్మాజీ చెప్పారు. ఒకరినొకరు ఇష్టపడి పెద్దలకు చెప్పి వివాహం చేసుకున్నారట.
