Karthikeya and now Liger prove there are no pan India stars but only pan India movies

0

Liger’s terrible performance and reviews have been quite an eye-opener for many industry insiders. The film was promoted heavily all over the country and was expected to be a massive pan- India launch for Vijay Deverakonda. However, the plan backfired with the project getting panned by everyone. However, the bookings for this film in Bollywood have been quite good and the film will certainly make good money over the weekend.

Coming to Nikhil’s Karthikeya 2, which is still running to packed houses in northern regions as well. The film was showcased on less than 100 screens on day one and spread to 1000 screens by the first week. The movie’s popularity and collections have been growing exponentially and Karthikeya 2 is inching towards Rs 100 crores worldwide.

Only content is speaking in Hindi and not the Heros. Even Bollywood stars like Aamir and Akshay are failing to bring the audience to theatres. But Karthikeya 2 has become a huge hit without any promotions and now Liger bookings are quite good as well despite negative reviews. The film is expected to do very good business there. This is proving the concept of pan-India heroes as false and many have realized that more than the brand image will not save big-budget films anymore.

Mega Fans Returning It To Liger Producer Charmee

0

Back in 2015, Ram Charan’s Bruce Lee was released and became a flop at the box office. The movie did not do well for many reasons but that aside, the main talking point was Chiranjeevi’s cameo in the film. Chiranjeevi was supposed to do a film with Puri Jagannadh but it got canceled and he did a cameo in Bruce Lee instead.

Because of the failure of the film, Charmee tweeted this, mocking Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan. At the time, very few people took it seriously and dismissed it as a sadist tweet.

https://twitter.com/charmmeofficial/status/654953713916772352?s=21&t=SyEw7FZ0_gcHFKsGvDbV7A

But 7 years later, this tweet is making the rounds once again, and for all the wrong reasons. Just yesterday, the Charmee Kaur-produced Liger was released and has opened to outrageously negative reviews. The film has been bashed by both the common audiences as well as the critics alike. At this rate, the movie will crash by the opening weekend.

Mega fans are rejoicing at this and getting back at Charmee. The trolls have been non-stop and Charmee is facing the heat because of her tweet. Karma is real, and so is overconfidence. While Karma can be good sometimes, overconfidence is never. The entire team of Liger made a lot of erratic statements before the release like “We will count from 200 crores” and so on. But the reality is, they will not even have to count.

The Universal Industry Hit Avatar Is Back On The Big Screens

0

It has been more than 10+ years since the release of Hollywood’s most iconic movie Avatar. The film became an instant classic when it was released and is still talked about to this day. The VFX, storytelling, and director James Cameroon’s vision made Avatar the highest-grossing film of all time.

This record has not been broken yet and looks like there will be no breaking it anytime soon. The only possibility for this record to be broken was by Avengers: Endgame, which fell just short of Avatar.

With Avatar: The Way Of Water set to release on December 17th, 2022, the makers have decided to re-release Avatar in theatres once again. It will be screened in theatres from September 23rd for a limited period of 2 weeks. This will give enough time for fans of the franchise to revisit the spectacle in 4K. People who haven’t watched Avatar before can also experience it in cinema halls.

After 13 long years of pre-production work, graphics, and VFX work, Avatar: The Way Of Water is set to hit the big screens on December 17th. The film stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Kate Winslet, and a plethora of stellar actors.

Frustrated Prabhas Fans Protesting Against His New Film Launch

0

A couple of months ago, there were reports suggesting that Prabhas and Maruthi are collaborating on a horror-comedy project. This led to unanimous disapproval from Prabhas fans who were very upset with the decision.

As the weeks went by, these reports mellowed down and people assumed that the project has been shelved. But to the disappointment of the fans, the pooja ceremony of the Prabhas and Maruthi was held today.

Over the years, Maruthi has been consistently delivering disasters. Especially in the recent past, he has been responsible for some rather forgettable movies. Manchi Rojulochaie and Pakka Commercial went on to be outright disasters at the box office.

Owing to his reputation, Prabhas fans are worried about his next venture with Maruthi. They are not happy with the combination as it might affect his stardom and market value. Prabhas has not scored a huge hit post the success of Baahubali and his fans are desperately waiting.

In view of this, his fans are trending the hashtag #BoycottMaruthi on Twitter also. While there is a lot of excitement for Adipurush and Salaar, the Maruthi film seems to have no takers.

The Main Reason For The Resuming Of Indian 2 Shooting

0

Indian 2 has been one of the most troubled films for a while now. It has been through its fair share of hurdles over the years due to various reasons. First, there were creative differences between Kamal and director Shankar. Later, there were issues regarding the budget of the film.

The producers of Indian 2, Lyca Productions felt that the budget was piling up every day. They were unsure if Kamal Haasan would be able to generate the money back. But after the mammoth success of Vikram, Lyca started showing interest in Indian 2 once again.

But the main reason for the shoot to resume once again is Udayanidhi Stalin. The Udhayanidhi Stalin-led Red Giant Movies have added their name to Indian 2. This means that the budget distribution will now be easier, making it easier for Lyca Productions.

Stalin also helped with the distribution of Vikram, which proved to be a massive success for him. There are some produced-actor combinations that are huge successes and it looks like this duo will enter that list too.

The shooting of Indian 2 will resume in September. Shankar has stopped the shoot of RC15 for a while until a major portion of Indian 2 is done. The film also stars Kajal Agarwal in the lead role.

Liger movie review: Puri’s 2nd Innings fails to roar

0

Movie: Liger
Rating: 1.75/5
Cast: Vijay Deverakonda, Ananya Pandey, Ramya Krishnan, Ronit Roy
Director: Puri Jagannadh
Produced By: Karan Johar and Puri Jagannadh
Release Date: August 25th, 2022

Right from the day the title ‘Liger’ was announced, this Vijay Deverakonda- Puri Jagannadh project evoked great interest. This buzz grew further as the days passed and the MMA backdrop, Karan Johar producing it, and finally the presence of Mike Tyson heightened the expectations like never before. While the audio of the film has been underwhelming, to say the least, fans have pinned high hopes on Puri’s writing and Vijay’s performance. Does Liger have enough power to roar or is it just another all hype no substance project from Puri? Let’s check out.

Story: Liger (Vijay) along with his mother Balamani (Ramya Krishnan) moves to Mumbai from Karimnagar with an aim of becoming an MMA champion. Balamani is a protective mother who wants her son to focus only on MMA and not on girls. He trains hard and works towards his ambition. But as fate would have it, he meets Tanya (Ananya Pandey) what happens next and how does his life change from there, and will Liger fulfill his dream? This is what the story follows.

Performances: Liger is all about Vijay Deverakonda. Physically, he has put everything into this pan-India project. His body transformation is truly appreciable. Vijay looks intense and does well in action sequences. However, that’s all that can be said about him. His acting weakness becomes quite obvious, especially in the emotional sequences. The stammering part is quite a distraction and sometimes gets annoying as well. Ramya Krishnan is fine as Balamani but the Telangana dialect sounds quite unnatural from her. Ronit Roy looks good as Liger’s coach but has nothing major to add and so does Ananya Pandey whose character is one of the weakest ones in the film. Apart from her presence in songs, which again are quite underwhelming, Ananya has nothing to add to the film’s proceedings.

Analysis: An ambitious pan-India project needs solid content or entertainment value. Liger lacks in both and has plenty of loopholes and poorly written scenes. From a writing point of view, this is Puri’s weakest work so far. His attempt at a comeback has been halted due to terrible screenplay, predictable plot, and senseless direction. The lack of emotional connection with the protagonist’s journey from Karimnagar to the USA via Mumbai is one of the biggest drawbacks and a few moments in the first half aside, Liger totally fails to capture the audience’s fancy.

Plus Points:

  • Fights
  • Production values
  • Camera work

Minus Points:

  • Vijay Deverakonda’s characterization
  • 2nd Half
  • Illogical Screenplay
  • Ananya Pandey

Verdict: Liger is all style no substance and which makes viewers lose interest because of a series of cringe-worthy scenes and weak writing. Vijay Deverakonda and Puri Jagannadh have grossly miscalculated the audience’s tastes and their movies’ power with this poor pan-India attempt.

Vijay Deverakonda’s much-awaited sports action drama Liger is in front of the audience worldwide. The movie has managed to create massive positive buzz due to extensive promotional activities. In addition to this, the audience are eager to see Vijay in an MMA fighter role and this is why the advance bookings have been extraordinary.

Meanwhile, Liger OTT premiere details are out. This pan- India project directed by Puri Jagannadh will make its way to OTT on Disney + Hotstar. While the date of OTT premiere is not out yet, it will be revealed soon basis the film’s box-office performance.

The pre-release business has been quite good and the overseas bookings have also been quite encouraging. Traditionally, overseas has been a weak area for director Puri Jagannadh. But, with Vijay joining his side, the bookings are happenings at a brisk pace much to the movie unit’s excitement. Just Hyderabad bookings have crossed Rs 3 crore gross and the movie is all set to have the best Day 1 figure in both Vijay and Puri’s career.

The sports action drama also stars Ananya Pandey and Ramya Krishnan and will release on 25th August. Karan Johar and Puri are jointly producing the film. Vijay Deverakonda’s Liger will release in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Hindi as well as in Malayalam.

All You Need To Know About Vijay Devarakonda’s ‘Liger’

0

An overnight success, Vijay Deverakonda is already a household name all over India. In a way, Arjun Reddy might be seen as the film that finally established him as a serious performer. With his new movie “Liger,” Arjun Reddy is once again making waves. Puri Jagannadh, the film’s director, cast Ananya Pandey and Ramya Krishna in pivotal roles as stated by TeluguAha. Mike Tyson, a world boxing champion, stars as a major character.

The film’s trailer was just released, and it’s already getting people excited to see the finished product. Here are some details about the film that are just as important as its A-list actors.

Puri Jagannadh’s most recent film, iSmart Shankar, was a smashing success. For him, that movie marked a triumphant return to the spotlight. Liger, consequently, is subject to enormous pressure to deliver.

Many filmmakers from a variety of fields are keeping a watch on this picture because it is one of Tollywood’s most widely awaited productions.

This is Vijay’s first film in Bollywood. There hasn’t been a similar opportunity for a southern star to break into Bollywood. As such, Liger’s success or failure at the box office will significantly affect his future endeavors.

Vijay sweated blood and tears over this movie. The way he’s changed physically is impressive and deserves recognition. The actor from Dear Comrade spent months hitting the gym to get into fighting form. This explains why he put in so much work to merely portray a role on TV.

In the film, Ramakrishna portrays Vijay’s mother, and she immediately became the center of attention when the trailer was released. She’s one of the film’s major players and she gives off a menacing vibe.

Seeing Mike Tyson fight on screen would be exciting for anyone. Indeed, he is the film’s icing on the cake.

Ananya Pandey, sadly, will not be contributing anything to the picture beyond her attractiveness.

The film’s four mainstays—Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Puri Jaganandha, and Charmme Kaur—are the backbone of the production. These major players are sparing no effort in their pursuit of filmmaking excellence.

1. Before the COVID Vijay filmed the majority of the movie..

In spite of his fame in Telugu cinema, director Puri Jagannath has had little success with his Hindi films, such as Shart The Challenge (starring Tusshar Kapoor) and Bbuddah… Hoga Terra Baap (starring Amitabh Bachchan).

2. Vijay’s debut in Hindi was meticulously orchestrated by Karan Johar.

At first, he intended to use a remake of his Telugu film Dear Comrade as the actor’s big break.

The price Karan paid for the rights to adapt the film was exorbitant. However, after its failure, “Dear Comrade” was no longer regarded as very endearing.
KJo chose against doing a remake and instead introduced the world to Vijay in a brand new Hindi film.

3. As a director, Vijay suggested Puri Jagganath.

Karan wasn’t enthusiastic, but he couldn’t turn down the star.
Liger, which was made for a whopping Rs 125 crore (Rs 1.25 billion), would be promoted as a major Dharma Production, with Vijay delivering his lines in Hindi.

The lead female role, played by Ananya Pandey and depicting Vijay’s love interest, is underutilized. Linger serves as a virtual highlight reel of Vijay’s acting and action career.
Since Janhvi Kapoor has admitted to having a crush on the actor, she was the first candidate for the role of leading lady.

When it became clear that the part was lacking in importance, Ananya stepped in.
In Liger, Vijay portrays a professional mixed martial artist.
Before he picked up a gun, he spent three months training in this style of martial arts.

  • Originally cast as the major female role, Janhvi Kapoor had to make way for Ananya Panday due to scheduling conflicts.
  • Production on what is being called “Fighter” for now got underway on January 20, 2020, in Mumbai. After shooting for 50%, production was paused in March 2020 owing to a Coronavirus lockdown in India. Hyderabad will host the second meeting.
  • The film will debut in five languages all at once: Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
  • There was intended to be a premiere of Liger in theatres in November of 2020, but production was halted because of the COVID-19 pandemic. On September 9, 2021, the film was set to premiere in theatres. The release date for Liger in theatres is slated for August 25, 2022.
  • The liger is a biologically possible cross between a male lion (Panthera leo) and a female tiger (Panthera tigris). The liger was born to two parents of different species within the same genus. The liger, not to be confused with the related tigon, is the largest living feline species.

Prabhas new movie Pooja Ceremony tomorrow

0

Prabhas is one of the busiest stars in India at the moment with back-to-back big-budget projects lined up for next 2 years. Amidst these massive projects, his decision to work with Maruthi has surprised many. While it was considered as a rumour initially, the project is indeed on and the film’s Pooja ceremony will be held tomorrow.

It was recently revealed that Malavika Mohanan has been roped in to play one of the leads in this supernatural-comedy drama titled ‘Raja Deluxe’.  Prabhas will not attend this pooja ceremony as he is currently in Italy.

Coming to the movie’s filming, Prabhas, after the debacle of Radhe Shyam is taking extreme care for Raja Deluxe. He wants to put his best foot forward and that is why he has asked Maruthi to make certain changes in the script. While the filming of this project was supposed to start by now, it has been pushed to accommodate these last-minute script changes.

DVV Danayya is bankrolling this project and it will have some exciting special effects. Prabhas has an interesting lineup of big-budget films up next. He has Salaar, Adipurish, and Project K all of which will be pan-India releases.

Laal Singh Chaddha becomes highest grossing Hindi film in 2022 in the Overseas market

0

Aamir Khan & Kareena Kapoor starrer Laal Singh Chaddha was released earlier this month to almost empty theatres and disastrous openings in the Indian market. This project can be termed Aamir Khan’s dream project and the actor for the first time in his career did extensive promotions in South India as well. His interviews with Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna and other top stars from respective industries garnered a decent response.

Aamir even organized a special film screening for Chiranjeevi, SS Rajamouli, Nagarjuna, and Sukumar in Hyderabad a few days ago.

However, despite Laal Singh Chaddha being a big-budget top star film, the buzz and bookings for the film were shockingly low in India. The situation is better in the overseas market and the film has emerged as the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2022.

Laal Singh Chaddha has collected $7.5Million overseas to date and has crossed the second-ranked Alia Bhatt starter Gangubai Kathiyawadi which stands at $7.47 Million. Kartik Aryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa is in the third position and collected $5.8 Million.

A remake of 1994 Hollywood blockbuster Forrest Gump, this biographical drama also starred Naga Chaitanya who marked his Bollywood debut.
