Sundeep Kishan’s Michael is now streaming on OTT

Sundeep Kishan’s pan-India project Michael released earlier this month and failed to win the audience’s love and emerged as a box-office failure. The film was well appreciated for certain technical elements but didn’t succeed in drawing audience to the theatres. Michael is now up for its digital premiere on Aha.

Michael is the story of an orphan who joins and rises the ranks in a gangster world. The situations turn against him and how he encounters them is what the movie follows. Michael was released with very good expectations because of the good star cast and trailer but the film was completely washed out because talk is disastrous

The film also starred Vijay Sethupathy in key roles with Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Divyansha Kaushik, Gautham Menon, and Varun Sandesh also featuring prominently. Ranjit Jeyakodi directed this Pan India film and produced by Bharat Choudary and Pushkar Ram. The film was released in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi languages.

Disastrous advance bookings for Akshay Kumar’s Selfiee

Looks like the poor run of Akhsay Kumar movies at the Bollywood box office is not going to end soon. After the disastrous performance of his last few films Prithviraj, Raksha Bandhan, Cutputli, and Ram Setu, the Bollywood star placed a lot of hopes on his multistarrer film Selfiee.

But the advance booking trends are quite disappointing to say the least. The movie is releasing today and the bookings are disastrous, especially considering it’s a film from a Bollywood A-lister like Akshay Kumar. The film’s advance ticket sales are just around 8K from national multiplex chains which is shocking to the Selfiee team and the entire Bollywood.

Selfiee is a remake of the 2019 Malayalam superhit film Driving License which starred Prithviraj Sukumaran and Suraj Venjaramoodu. This Bollywood remake stars Emraan Hashmi alongside Akshay Kumar.

The entire unit of the film tried large-scale promotions for the film and even roped in the likes of Salman Khan, Tiger Shroff, and other stars. But clearly, that tactic has failed to evoke the audience’s interest.

Now, everything boils down to the walk-in audience and the film’s initial talk. If content clicks, we’ll see footfalls increasing during evening and night shows. After Pathaan’s blockbuster performance, everyone believed that Bollywood is back on its success track. But the failure of Kartik Aryan’s Shehzada (remake of Allu Arjun’s Ala Vaikunthapuramuloo) and now the cold response to another remake i.e. Selfiee, it appears the rough days have still not ended.

Ranbir Kapoor comments on Dada Saheb Phalke Award are shocking

Ranbir Kapoor has caught the attention of the audience with his shocking comments on the prestigious DadaSaheb Phalke Awards. His comments have come as a bit of surprise for his fans and other neutral audience too. Generally, Ranbir is known for talking straightforwardly with little hesitation, be it any topic.

Bollywood’s actors Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt recently won the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival awards in the Best Actor and Best Actress categories, respectively. While Ranbir picked up the award for Brahmastra: Part One Shiva, Alia was awarded for Gangubai Kathiawadi.

Ranbir said that he ‘didn’t fully deserve’ the award. Yes, during a promotional event in Chandigarh for his upcoming film Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, Ranbir was asked about his and Alia’s win to which, he said, “Of course, I am truly grateful ki mujhe yeh sammaan dia. I don’t think I fully deserve it for Brahmastra.”

Further, he added that his acting work in the film was not that great, but he said of course you feel great when you receive an award. However, he praised his wife Alia and said she deserved it for her stellar performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi.

Brahmastra, also starring Alia and Amitabh Bachchan with extended cameos of Shah Rukh Khan and Nagarjuna in cameo roles, was the highest-grosser Hindi film of 2022. While the expectations among movie lovers and fans are high for Brahmastra: Part Two – Dev, Ranbir clinching the Dadasaheb Phalke Award doubled their happiness.

Directors leaving the shooting sets is the latest trend in Tollywood

With rising production budgets, the pressure on the directors to deliver the right output is also increasing. Gone are the days when a biggie was made under 15-20 crores and recovery was made by the end of the film’s full run. Today, the remunerations of directors and lead stars are skyrocketing leading to immense pressure on the entire team to give their best with no place left for any mistakes.

Due to this increasing pressure, several directors are in no mood for compromise and are even storming out of sets in case of any creative differences. Several talented directors have decided to put down and call out any kind of unprofessionalism from actors and the crew.

If producers or actors or even heroes fail to meet the expectations of directors, they are simply leaving the shooting sets and not returning at all. This has happened for several ongoing projects.

According to the inside and trade circles reports, the movie’s budget is said to be over 80 Crores. So, everyone thought it will do a good job at the pre-release business.

Even the makers also felt the same and at one time they have quoted 60 Crores ratios for the Telugu States rights of the film, but they have sold the Telugu States and Karnataka rights to Gayatri films. They have sold the Telugu states for 35 Crores, which is a very low price considering the movie’s budget. The Karnataka rights will be around 4 crores.
