Movies with the Telangana backdrop are underperforming in Andhra Pradesh

For the past many years the trade calculations for the Telugu movies in Nizam + Ceded = Andhra [6 Territories] and movies business was being done in the same ratio, But recently a trend of making movies with Telangana backdrop has become more frequent than in the past.

Post state bifurcation the Telangana representation in Telugu films has emerged and movies with the same backdrop are coming very frequently and they are generating superb revenues in Telangana area but the same movies are somehow underperforming in Andhra Pradesh.

If we take the recent blockbuster Balagam, the film has received 80% collections from Nizam only. Now the latest film Nani’s Dasara is super strong in Nizam whereas in Andhra it is just performing in a just okayish manner. The collections of Nizam area are bigger than entire Andhra Pradesh for Dasara. The same issue happened to previous movies like Falaknuma Das and Fidaa.

However, we cannot attribute the under performance of the above mentioned movies to the backdrop of Telangana. Films like Balagam and Falaknuma Das have deeply rooted elements from Telangana region, but Dasara and Fidaa don’t have such content. May be the audience from Nizam have connected more to these movies that’s why they have underperformed a bit in Andhra Pradesh.

Fans are unhappy with Aadi re-release for NTR’s birthday

It’s re-release season and after the successful shows of Ram Charan’s Orange organized for his birthday, it’s now the turn of NTR fans to re-release a massive blockbuster. NTR’s birthday is on 20th May and there are plans of releasing his blockbuster action entertainer Aadi for the occasion.

However, there’s a small issue that has come up which is frustrating many fans. Going as per the trend of current re-releases, the fans team had originally planned to release another blockbuster Simhadri on a record number of screens. Simhadri has all the elements to break all the re-release records.

But now, the announcement of Aadi has irked fans. The sudden announcement has left NTR fans frustrated as they don’t want to re-release two films at the same time and one will affect the other one.

Directed by VV Vinayak, Aadi was released in 2002 and is a landmark film in NTR’s career and one of his biggest hits. The film established him as a leading star in Tollywood and his intense performance and dialogue delivery were appreciated by all.

Simhadri, on the other hand, released the next year in 2003 and put NTR on every record list and become the highest grosser of the year. The impact created by this SS Rajamouli film has still not softened and fans will throng to theatres in huge numbers whenever it releases. The announcement of Simhadri 4K re-release will be made on 9th April.

Will Mahesh Babu get solo release advantage for Sankranti?

It is very well known to everyone that Superstar Mahesh Babu and Trivikram’s SSMB28 was announced to be released during Sankranti 2024. The fans of Mahesh and trade circles expected the film to capitalize the combo craze along with the season advantage. Because it is very usual to have the competition during the festival days, this film was also expected to face the same.

So there were multiple movies expected to come for Sankranti 2024 but with the recent official announcements of films and the changes in the schedule of a few movies, SSMB28 have now got the chance of getting the advantage of solo release at the Sankranti season.

Venkatesh’s upcoming film Saindhav was supposed to release for Sankranti but is out of the race due to the recent December release announcement from the unit. Ram Charan and Shankar’s film had also eyed Sankranti release, but the film’s release depends on the Indian 2 release so this film has also no chances to come to Sankranti.

Prabhas’s Project K team had officially announced the release date of January 12,2024 but this film is also expected to come after summer only. NTR has already announced his 30th film for April 5 release and Pushpa 2 also will come in Summer only.

Megastar Chiranjeevi has no chance to come for Sankranti and Mahesh can have only one competeter if Pawan Kalyan’s film Ustaad Bhagat Singh comes for Sankranti. However, if the elections happen this year, then Pawan Kalyan has also no chance to release his film for Sankranti.

All these developments put SSMB28 as the only film to release for Sankranti and it has all the chances to get the advantage of being a solo film to release for Sankranti. However, there is a chance for two or three small / medium budget movies.

Kalyanram’s Amigos is now streaming on OTT

After a huge blockbuster like Bimbisara, Nandamuri Kalyan Ram came out with the movie Amigos in which the actor played a triple role of doppelgangers. The film was well promoted, but unfortunately, the end result was disappointing. The lack of a powerful narrative can be said the main reason for the poor performance of the film.

Debutante Rajendra Reddy directed this project. The film is now available on the OTT Netflix platform. As of now, only Telugu audio is available, along with English subtitles. Kannada beauty Ashika Ranganath debuted in the Telugu cinema with Amigos.

The film received average reports on the day 1 of but it failed miserably at the box office. Nandamuri fans and the audience expected the film will score big due to the interesting trailer, but the director was not able to translate his vision perfectly on to the screen.

This action thriller was produced by one of the leading production houses in the Telugu Film Industry, Mythri Movie Makers. Brahmaji, Sapthagri, Jayaprakash, and Kalyani Natarajan appeared in key roles in the film. Ghibran composed the tunes. Those who missed watching Amigos in theatres can now catch it on Netflix.

Nagarjuna upcoming movie with new director is shelved

Nagarjuna’s recent box-office performance has been nothing but disappointing for the fans. His last movie The Ghost was an outright disaster and the ‘King’ hasn’t delivered. a solid box-office big hit in years now. This is why he is focused on ensuring his next project is strong on content and execution.

Nagarjuna had planned a movie with Dhamaka writer Prasanna Kumar Bezawada. The movie was a remake planned on a big budget with Sankranthi’s release in mind. However, due to several unfortunate developments, the movie is now shelved. Continuous issues between Shankar and Dil Raju on Game Changer

Game Changer is a massive jackpot opportunity for producer Dil Raju for whom this is the biggest film of his career. On one hand, he has maverick director Shankar known for delivering massive blockbusters. To team up with Shankar, he has Ram Charan who is fresh from the blockbuster RRR.

So naturally, there’s an immense buzz around this project and the producer wants no stone unturned to deliver the biggest hit of his career. But, there are some reports of certain disagreements between the producer and the director

When Dil Raju signed Shankar for this project with Charan, it was not a VFX-based film like Robo, 2.0, or I. It was a full content-based film like Shankar’s older films. After completing 2 schedules Dil Raju realized that the movie budget is extending beyond the planned budget as Shankar does not want to compromise on quality. Despite this, the producer maintained silence, and suddenly with Indian2 getting back on sets, the burden started growing for Dil Raju as the budget started expanding and release plans were also getting delayed.

The plan was to release the Game Changer for this year end or next Sankranthi. But Shankar’s schedule can allow only next summer’s release. Next summer is already packed with the biggies like NTR30 and Pushpa2 and chances for Pawan Kalyan and Chiranjeevi releases as well. After the summer the only option left is to wait for the August or September release and this situation has displeased Dil Raju.

Ravanasura censor report shocked and amazed everyone

Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja is currently promoting his next movie Ravanasura, directed by Sudheer Varma. Sushanth will appear in a key role in this movie, which is up for a grand theatrical release on April 7, 2023.

The latest report is that the film was censored and that the CBFC awarded the film an “A” certificate for the violence it contained. The run-time of the film is not yet known. The censor board giving A rating for the film has shocked everybody.

Because action films which have heavy dose of fights and violence only will get A rating. But the audience did not expected Ravanusara to get A Rating. The songs , teaser, trailer everything looked like commercial entertainer and everyone expected the film to get U/A certificate.

The film has Faria Abdullah, Megha Akash, Anu Emmanuel, Daksha Nagarkar, and Pujita Ponna as the female leads. Jayaram, Sriram, Hyper Aadhi, Harshavardhan, Murali Sharma, Sampath and others played significant roles.
