NTR’s Simhadri failed to beat Pawan Kalyan’s Kushi collections

The trend of re-releasing old blockbuster Telugu movies has become a norm in the recent times. In this background, on the occasion of NTR’s birthday on May 20th, massive preparations were made to release Simhadri, a crucial blockbuster hit in his career. The film was re released worldwide yesterday amidst massive celebrations of NTR fans.

The fans of NTR have planned the Simhadri in an enormous way with excellent promotions and the film has been released on a record number of screens as well. Simhadri does well in most of the territories, but in a few areas it has underperformed. The film’s numbers are good worldwide as the movie opened with around 3.5 Crores Gross, which means Pawan Kalyan’s Kushi still holds the record with around 4 Crores opening worldwide. Overall, NTR’s Simhadri failed to beat Pawan Kalyan’s Kushi collections.

NTR is always super strong at the box office, especially in benefit shows which are enjoyed by scores of his loyal fans who are eager to catch him on the big screen. So, the fans were determined to create a new milestone with by a big margin. Their planning was done on a massive scale to beat re-release records, but the fans of NTR will be a bit disappointed as Simhadri failed to beat Pawan Kalyan’s Kushi collections.

Released in 2003, Simhadri also featured Bhumika alongside the ‘Young Tiger’. Directed by SS Rajamouli, the film went on to become a massive blockbuster and established NTR as one of the top stars in Tollywood. Keeravani’s chart buster music, Rajamouli’s pacy and intense narration, and NTR’s roaring performance have made this film a classic in the action genre in Tollywood.

It is very well known to everyone that the Telugu Desam Party has held the centenary celebrations of SR NTR on May 20, 2023, at the Kaithalapur Grounds in Kukatpally, Hyderabad. The party member’s recently met with NTR and invited him to attend the ceremony. But unfortunately, he could not make it to the event. R Narayana Murthy was one of the guests at the event who made some fiery remarks to the Indian Government for not giving the Bharat Ratna award to SR NTR.

Nandamuri Balakrishna took care of SR NTR’s centenary celebrations. The ceremony was attended by senior actors and film celebrities like Murali Mohan, Jayaprada, Jayasudha, Krishnaveni. Young Stars Mega Power Star Ram Charan, Naga Chaitanya, Sumanth, Adivi Sesh, Vishwak Sen and Sidhu Jonnalagadala were also present at the event and spoke on the stage. Along with politicians Chandrababu, Bandaru Dattatreya, Sitaram Yechury, film director and people star R Narayana Murthy were also present as said above.

R Narayana Murthy impressed with his powerful speech on this occasion. He said that in terms of politics, senior NTR is the hero who confronted the times. Murthy stated NTR was a political acumen who proceeded with the times. He mentioned it is heartening to note that Balakrishna is currently carrying forward NTR’s acting legacy. He stated that NTR is called the world-famous actor’s sovereign (Viswa Vikyatha Nata Sarvabhouma) even when the likes of Lord Lawrence Warrier, Stephen Boyk, Thunder Heistain, SB Ranga Rao, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Sivaji Ganesh and Kannada Rajkumar are present because he is an actor who can impress in all kind of roles/getups.

Murthy remembered NTR had also made his mark in politics. In just eight months, he showed the strength of the Telugu people by competing with the national party Congress. R Narayana Murthy expressed his sadness that such a great man not been given Bharat Ratna. Murthy mentioned Indira Gandhi gave Bharat ratna to MBR with political thinking. But NTR is a better person than him. He also said that Chandrababu had questioned about this in the past, and he should have fought with the Central Government at that time. Murthy demanded that Bharat Ratna should still be given to SR NTR because he is worthy of it. At the end of his speech, R Narayana Murthy told that Telangana CM KCR and AP CM JAGAN should also fight on this issue. In the past, even Mega Star Chiranjeevi has also requested that SR NTR should get Bharat Ratna.

Despite opening to mixed reviews, the film had a superb day 1 in the Telugu states with collecting 2.5 Crores share and surprised everyone. The movie further maintained strong collections on day 2 as well and the trade circles are expecting the film’s numbers will be bigger on Sunday with a better total than Saturday. The film is expected to achieve the breakeven mark with just first weekend collections, which is an extraordinary feat.

The film’s success would be a big relief for hero Vijay Antony and his wife, as they went through many obstacles during the filming of Bichagadu 2. It is very well known to everyone that Vijay Antony and heroine Kavya Thapar had met with an accident during the shooting, then all were worried about his health, but he survived and got back to normal soon.

Vijay Antony has not only acted in this film but is also the writer, director, and music director. It is very well known to everyone that Young Tiger NTR’s Simhadri has been re released on the occasion of his birthday. The fans of NTR have taken this event as a prestigious one and celebrated it in a massive way at the theaters. However, these re-release celebrations are fine, but fans damaging the theaters is definitely a terrible thing which is putting big burden on the exhibitors.

There are many theaters in the Telugu States which got affected with Simhadri re-release as fans broke the seats, glass doors and teared screens. NTR fans did not stop with that, in some theaters they have even blasted fire crackers inside the theaters. These bad incidents occurred not only in the Telugu States, but they also went to the London.

In a disgraceful act, NTR fans exploded a smoke bomb in a London theater during the screening of Simhadri. The overexcited fans ended up lighting crackers in the theater where Simhadri played, and it led to smoke and fire. The incident created a big agitation in the theater which led towards the evacuation of the public amidst slogans, shouts, and cries in the theater’s premises.

A London Fire Brigade spokesperson confirmed that there was no fire. They said, “The alarm is believed to have been caused by a smoke device being set off. There were no reports of any injuries, but the cinema was evacuated as a precaution. We were called at 10.13 pm and the incident was over for our firefighters by 10.39 pm.”

This kind of shameful acts from the fans should be stopped, or otherwise it will be a very big problem for the theater owners to bear the losses because of these re-releases. Moreover, the rules and regulations, laws will be different in foreign countries and if fans continue to create problems like these, then there can be a danger of no films being re-released in the future.

Sensational Blockbuster Virupaksha is now Streaming on OTT

Sai Dharam Tej’s Recent mystical thriller Virupaksha is now Streaming on OTT. Starring Sai Dharam Tej and Samyuktha as the lead pair, the movie is directed by Karthik Varma Dandu. The film was released in last month, and it received a positive response from the audience and critics as well. Virupaksha became the highest grosser in Sai Dharam Tej’s career by collecting over 45 Crores share worldwide.

OTT Giant Netflix, which has purchased the streaming rights of the film, at first planned the digital premiere of this movie on 19th May, but the film was not released, and now the movie is streaming on OTT through Netflix Platform now. However, the OTT platform did not mention the availability of the film in other languages. The film is still having a decent run in the theaters, and a few netizens felt that it is a bit early to release the film on OTT.

Virupaksha movie’s story is set in the mystic village Rudravanam where Surya comes with his mother to meet his family. He falls in love with Nandini. Love starts to blossom between them, but suddenly the village people get killed one by one in suspicious circumstances. Surya starts chasing the mystery behind the mysterious deaths of the village. How does he get to solve this mystery is what forms the rest of the story.

Along with Sai Dharam Tej and Samyuktha Menon in the lead roles, this movie has an ensemble cast of Ajay, Rajeev Kanakala, Sai Chand, Brahmaji, Shyamala, Soniya Singh, and Sunil. It was released in theaters on April 21st, 2023. Virupaksha is directed by Karthik Dandu and is produced by BVSN Prasad under the banners of Sri Venkateshwara Cine Chitra and Sukumar Writings. B Ajaneesh Lokanath composed music for the film.

Actress Tamannaah Bhatia is very much upset about the rumors that she has agreed to perform a dance number in director Balakrishna’s film. The actress, in a strongly worded tweet on Saturday, snapped the “baseless news articles” on her and a song in the untitled project, which also happens to be the 108th movie of Nandamuri Balakrishna, directed by Anil Ravipudi. Tamannaah’s statement came after a few reports claimed that she quoted a massive remuneration to do an item song in the action movie and the makers have agreed to her terms.

Condemning the reports, the actress took to her Twitter Account and wrote: “I have always enjoyed working with Anil Ravipudi, sir. I have huge respect for both him and Nandamuri Balakrishna, sir. So, reading these baseless news articles about me and a song in their new film, is very upsetting. Please do your research before you make baseless allegations.”

Tamannaah had formerly worked with director Anil Ravipudi, including F2: Fun And Frustration, Sarileru Neekevvaru, and F3. Also, this is not the first time that reports about her equation with the filmmaker went viral on the social media. After the release of their film, F3, last year, Anil Ravipudi mentioned the rumors about his reported rough patch with Tamannaah in an interview with Telugu Media. The director called the falling-out just a “minor misunderstanding.” “There was no major fight between Tamannaah and I, it was just a minor misunderstanding. I wanted her to shoot for a few scenes on a particular day, and she had another commitment the next morning and wanted to leave early. We were heated for about four days, but it is all sorted now,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.

Tamannaah had a few theatrical and OTT releases last year – Gurthunda Seethakalam, Plan A Plan B, Babli Bouncer, F3: Fun And Frustration. She is now preparing for upcoming films like Bole Chudiyan, Bhola Shankar and Jailer. The actress will also be seen in Arun Gopy’s Bandra.

Vyjayanthi Movies [Swapna Cinema, Aswini Dutt’s daughter’s banner] was having good days with continuous blockbusters for a long time. All their recent movies, like Yevade Subramanyam, Mahanati, Maharshi , Jathi Ratnalu, and Sitaramam became massive successful films. Especially Sitaramam was considered as a classical blockbuster with scoring at the box office and receiving critical appreciation as well. So, with the production house being in superb form, everyone expected it to continue the success streak with its latest movie, Anni Manchi Sakunamule.

However, the movie failed to impress the audiences and became a big failure for Vijayanthi/Swapna Cinema banner after a very long time. The film’s posters, songs, teaser, and trailer promised a clean family entertainer, but the director Nandini Reddy was unable to score a hit despite having a talented star cast and a good production house. Only a few sections of the audience liked the movie, but it was not sufficient to make it a hit at the box office.

Apart from Santosh Shobhan and Malavika Nair as the lead pair, Anni Manchi Sakunamule stars Rajendra Prasad, Naresh, Gauthami, Rao Ramesh, Vasuki and Vennela Kishore in the other important roles. Mickey J Mayor composed music for the movie.

The movie tells us the story of Arya (Malavika Nair) and Rishi (Santhosh Shobhan), who are mistakenly exchanged at birth, by doctors, between two warring families who have been in conflict over their ancestors’ shared properties. As Arya and Rishi grow, the conflict among families gets worse. The rest of the story is about how this dispute is sorted out, and how the families came to know about the truth about their kids.

Koratala Siva heavily inspired from Prashant Neel’s KGF for Devara

NTR is currently working with Koratala Siva on a massive action entertainer, Devara which is being made on a grand scale. It is very well known to everyone that it’s his 30th movie. For the past few days, the makers of the movie have managed to raise the anticipation levels around the first look and title reveal of the movie. If we look at the recent posters of the movie closely, it looks like director Koratala Siva is heavily inspired by Prashant Neel’s KGF for Devara.

The posters and the first look of Devara reminded the KGF Series’ feel to the audience. Because even the KGF’s posters were also had released with this kind of lines about the hero’s character and the violence done by him. It was also told by the makers of Devara that the film would have the backdrop of the forgotten coastal lands of India, which is also similar to the unknown world of KGF. However, we need to wait and watch until the release of teaser or any glimpse of the movie to know whether Koratala Siva is indeed inspired by KGF or not.

Bollywood beauty, late Sridevi’s daughter Janhvi Kapoor plays the lead actress in the movie, while Saif Ali Khan plays the antagonist against NTR.
