Official: Leo overseas rights bought by phars films for a record price

It is very well known to everyone that Thalapathy Vijay is currently working Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Leo. The film is creating records even before the release. Already Leo’s non-theatrical rights and digital rights were sold at record prices, and now the film’s overseas rights have been bought by the biggest distribution firm. The film’s overseas rights are sold at 60 Crores, which is an record price for any film in overseas.

Vijay is a superstar in Tamil industry, and he has a good market at overseas as well, and the film being directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj has also raised the expectations of its box office performance. The renowned Distribution company Phars films has bought the rights for 60 Crores which is an all-time record deal for a Tamil movie. The film needs to collect well over 17 Million Dollars in overseas to achieve the break – even mark.

For the unknown, Thalapathy Vijay plays the role of a gangster in his 40s, who lives in Kashmir, away from the world of the gang wars by running a chocolate factory. The storyline of the movie contains all the ingredients of a Lokesh Kanagaraj movie – with all the adrenaline – pumping elevation scenes, action sequences and high-octane drama. The Inner-character conflicts are seen as one of the major highlights, reportedly. Moreover, it is said that the shooting of the Leo should be completed by mid-July.

Leo, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj is rumored to be a part of Lokesh’s LCU aka Lokesh Cinematic Universe, of which Karthi’s Kaithi and Kamal Haasan’s Vikram are also a part. Besides Vijay and Trisha, Leo has a list of the big star cast, among which Arjun Sarja, Priya Anand, Gautham Menon, Mathew Thomass, Mansoor Ali Khan and Sandy. The film is surrounded by massive expectations not only from Tamil but also the Telugu audience.

Leo will hit screens on October 19th.Meanwhile, Lokesh Kanagaraj is also teaming up with Superstar Rajinikanth next on Thalaivar 171. Vijay will work with director Venkat Prabhu for his next film, which is expected to roll out by September/October this year.

Recently Kota Srinivasa Rao attended an event and commented about this generation of heroes by saying now the heroes are openly speaking about the remunerations in public directly.

“NTR is a legend and there is no other person like him unless he is reborn again. During those days, NTR, ANR, Krishna, or Sobhan Babu never talked about their remuneration, but today some heroes are blabbering about 2cr per day and 6 cr per day remuneration. This is not the right way,” said Kota Srinivasa Rao

By saying so, he indirectly targeted Pawan Kalyan who recently stated that he was taking 2Cr remuneration for a movie.

OTT recommendation: Best movie to watch on this weekend

Allari Naresh’s latest film, Ugram was unable to impress the audience, though before release the makers had done interesting and aggressive promotions. Naresh who used to act in comic roles, changed his style with Naandhi and began to make content-oriented films, after the film’s success. Ugram is directed by Vijay Kanakamedala who is the director of Naandhi. The film was released on worldwide screens last month. Now it is streaming on OTT from this Friday, and it is the best movie to watch on OTT this weekend.

Ugram was opened to below par reviews and talk from the audience, but the performance given by Allari Naresh received appreciation as they found it stunning, and it had mesmerized everyone who had seen the film. Especially the audience are thrilled by his performance in the climax action episode, and they are stated that he acted like a big mass hero. The leading OTT platform, Amazon Prime had announced that Ugram will be available for streaming from Friday, i.e., June 2.

The film is definitely a worth watching in OTT space for the mind-blowing performance of Allari Naresh and the action episodes. Bad songs and a few unnecessary episodes are the minus points of movie, but still, it is a good one to watch it on OTT this weekend.

Mirnaa Menon played the female lead in Ugram which was made as a cop action drama that also has Shatru, Sharath Lohitashwa and Indraja in other important roles in the film. Director Prashanth Neel, who has aged one year older today (June 4th), celebrated his birthday with Prabhas. It is a well-known fact that the actor will star in the director’s next film, Salaar. Last night in an unfortunate turn of events, Mega Star Chiranjeevi fired on media for spreading rumors about his health and misleading the people. Before that, the mega fans and other audiences were in for a shock with a revelation about his health. Fake news about Chiranjeevi’s health was spread that he had suffered from cancer and got rid of it by finding it in early stages and having a good treatment.

At the opening of a hospital, Chiranjeevi revealed that he had been diagnosed with non-cancerous polyps that could become possible cancer. The initial tests helped him find them, and he was treated at the correct time. Chiru added that cancer can be cured if it is detected in the early stages and with proper therapy.

Chiranjeevi suggested that early medical tests will help avert cancer. But his speech was misunderstood by media people, and they assumed he had suffered from cancer. Chiru said the same thing in his tweet when the media began reporting that Chiranjeevi had suffered cancer and survived because of better treatment. He condemned the news and said there is no truth in it.

Chiranjeevi taunted the media for misinterpreting his comments and spreading fake news about his comments on cancer.”Many well-wishers are sending messages about my health. So, I am clarifying this for them,” he said in his tweet.

Chiranjeevi earlier while talking about cancer said that, “Some of my fans suffered from cancer. Everyone should have awareness of cancer. I exercise every day, eat good food, and used to think that I would never get any disease. But you can never think like that. I got a colonoscopy in AIG hospital recently and there were polyps in it. They could have turned into cancer if neglected. I had two such polyps. I got them removed by surgery. I could avoid becoming a victim of cancer because of awareness, and otherwise I do not know how I would be in 2–3 years.”

The Election Commission has announced the elections of Telangana assembly will be held on 16th January 2024. There is also a rumor in political circles that the Andhra Pradesh elections will also happen at the same time. This can affect the Cinema Industry as Sankranthi Season is treated as the best season for movies. Already there are multiple films planned to be released on Sankranthi. So, there is a doubt in the industry circles that if the elections are held at the festival time, the people will be in election mood only.

But there is no need to worry about movies getting impacted by the elections, because the Telugu States people are always interested in the films. Even during the elections they will look to watch the movies, for example, Legend, and Race Gurram films were blockbusters even though they were released during the elections period. However those films had a gap of at least two weeks from the elections.

Now the 2024 Elections are coming at the exact time of the festival, so the collections can be influenced for one or two days at least until the noon shows. So, we have to wait and see whether the big films will be released on Sankranthi or not.

As of now, Superstar Mahesh Babu and Trivikram’s Guntur Kaaram, Prabhas – Nag Ashwin’s prestigious film Project K, and Kamal Haasan – Shankar’s Indian 2/ Bharateeyudu 2 are slated to be released for Sankranthi-2024. MM Keeravani is composing the music for Gentleman 2

KT Kunjumon, the renowned producer, recently announced that he will make the second part of the blockbuster ‘Gentleman’, which was released in the year 1993 and was directed by Shankar and starred Arjun and Madhubala in the lead roles. While the first part was directed by Shankar, the second part will be directed by A. Gokul Krishna. KT Kunjumon is going to produce this film on a grand scale.

Similarly, while AR Rahaman had composed the music for the first part, MM Keeravani, who recently won the Oscar for the song ‘Naatu Naatu’ will work for the second part. The producer has already made an official announcement that the second part’s music will be composed by Keeravani.
