Nagarjuna in talks with RX100 director for a new film

Akkineni Nagarjuna was last seen in The Ghost, the film which was released during the last year’s Dussehra, became a big failure at the box office. After that, Nagarjuna is yet to confirm his next project and he has taken a long break to select his next film’s director. Actually, Nagarjuna had planned a Malayalam Movie’s remake and writer Prasanna Kumar was supposed to make his directorial debut with the film, but it did not materialize for multiple reasons and Nagarjuna is said to be in talks with Ajay Bhupathi, the director of RX100, the film, which was a sensational hit in 2017 and got everyone attention due to its bold content and blockbuster album.

The director has recently wrapped up the shooting part of his latest film called Managalavaaram, a horror comedy which stars actress Payal Rajput in the lead role. Payal had debuted in the Telugu Film Industry with RX100.

Adipurush writer receives death threats, seeks police protection

Adipurush writer Manoj Muntashir was provided with police protection after he placed a complaint about the constant death threats that he has been receiving ever since the movie was released.

The common people and mostly religious ones were deeply offended and fired on writer after watching Adipurush. Many people felt that the writer and director made unnecessary changes to Ramayana and the dialogues in particular were bad. Reportedly, some people even gave death to Manoj Muntashir for his objectionable dialogues which hurt their religious sentiments.

According to a formal statement on Monday, the police granted Muntashir’s request for security because they were concerned about a threat to his life.

“We have received an application from Manoj Shukla, and we are considering providing him security following a threat to his life,” the official said.

The makers of the mythological epic film have decided to ‘revise some of the dialogues’ after the Prabhas-starrer was criticised heavily for its pedestrian language. Manoj Muntashir, who has penned the Hindi dialogues and songs of this film, said the amended lines will be added to the film by this week.

All India Cine Workers Association demanding a ban on Adipurush in theatres and OTT

The All India Cine Workers Association, an independent registered organization of film technicians and workers, wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the ongoing controversy over Adipurush and demanded a ban on the film in theaters and OTT as well. The body said the movie insulted the mythological Hindu epic Ramayana and demanded its prohibition. They also called for an FIR to be registered against director Om Raut and dialogue writer Manoj Muntashir for violating religious sentiments.

News agency ANI reported on Tuesday afternoon that All India Cine Workers Association had written to PM Modi, requesting him to “stop screening the movie and immediately order a ban of #Adipurush screening in the theaters and OTT platforms in the future.”

In its letter, shared on the organization’s official letterhead, the association’s president Suresh Shyamlal Gupta wrote, “All Indian Cine Workers Association demands ban on screening the movie Adipurush. This movie’s screenplay and dialogues are clearly defaming the image of Lord Ram and Lord Hanuman. Adipurush Movie is hurting religious sentiments of Hindus and Sanatan Dharma.”

Adipurush, which released on Friday, is based on Ramayana, and has been surrounded by controversy over its dialogues and scenes. Many have criticized the normal language used by some characters, especially Hanuman, by claiming that it degrades their respect. The film was also criticized for taking liberties with its plot and deviating from the epic, which is regarded as holy by many Hindus.
