Story: Prem Kumar (Santosh Sobhan) is a man who is about to marry, but the bride elopes with the film star Roshan (Chaitanya Krishna). Prem Kumar is heartbroken as after wards also he can not marry as all his matches are cancelled. He then becomes a wedding detective and makes money with dealing with the couples who have affairs and become successful. He starts an office that will spoil the marriage and when his business seems to run well, Nethra (Rashi Singh), the girl who eloped without marrying him, interrupts their business. What happened to their relationship? Who is Angana (Ruchitha Sadhineni) and what is her connection with Prem and Nethra? Answers to these questions form the rest of the story.

Analysis: The Telugu audiences will watch any film be it small or big it a film is made with a good concept is good and is narrated engagingly. New film Prem Kumar tried to entertain the audiences in the same way, but it is made with a fragile story at a time when many concept films are coming up. The story of the film is simple, and it needed a proper blend of romance and humor.

However, the narrative failed to do so. The concept of hero using the affairs and making money is interesting but it was dealt with silly scenes. Also, the romance track between Prem and Nethra was not much attractive. Angana character’s introduction looks to make the things interesting but soon the film again drops and gets predictable. The final 30 minutes are stretched out with predictable moments.

Performances: Santhosh Sobhan looked a bit odd in. comedy scenes, but he was good in the emotional scenes. Raashi Singh had done well, while Ruchita Sadineni impressed with her performance. Krishna Teja as hero’s friend Sunder Lingam and Sudarshan as Daddy provided a few laughs. Chaitanya Krishna did not impress in the role of Roshan.

Verdict:

Overall Director Abhishek Maharshi has tried to make Prem Kumar film as a romantic entertainer with situational humor and though his idea was good, the comedy did not work at all making the film a tedious watch.

Varun Tej reveals his love story and wedding plans

Varun Tej and Lavanya Tripathi’s recent engagement took many by pleasant surprise. Mega fans and industry insiders were quite keen on knowing further details about this latest Tollywood pair. The couple have worked on films like Mister and Antariksham and it was speculated that love bloomed between the couple on the movie’s sets. Varun Tej, who is awaiting the release of his next film Gandeevadhari Arjuna shed some light on the relationship.

“It developed organically. We first worked together for “Mister” film and we became good friends. I think it got upgraded into love prior to shoot of Antariksham film. I am a private person and my parents knew about it. It stayed that way till we announced about our engagement,” said the actor.

Speaking about the impending wedding which is being planned in a grand manner later this year, Varun Tej said, “We are looking for a wedding date in November or December of this year. I would love to get married in Hyderabad. But it’s not possible as I want it to be a private affair. Hence, it’s going to be a destination wedding. We are looking at 3 places in India and a couple of places abroad. The final decision will be taken soon.”

Gadar 2 and OMG 2 1st week box office numbers

The Independence Day weekend clash has worked wonders for Bollywood. The competition between OMG 2 and Gadar 2 has brought many audiences to the theaters. Both the films have achieved some big milestones in their first week run at the worldwide box office. Truly, the success of these films has helped the Bollywood get back into the game.

Sunny Deol’s sequel to Gadar, which is directed by Anil Sharma, has been performing exceptionally well and is on the way to becoming an all-time blockbuster for Bollywood. It has already exceeded 250 crores gross in India and reached the 300 crores milestone globally. However, most of the contribution in its collections came from India alone because the performance at overseas is not that great.

Gadar 2 earned 284.63 Crores net in India, which is equivalent to 335.86 crores gross in the first 7 days. Akshay Kumar has OMG 2 collected 85.05 Crores net, which is equal to almost 101 Crores Gross in India.

Overall, both the movies are super successful at the box office and Gadar 2 is phenomenal and hunting all-time records with excellent consistency in its run. The film is still expected to gather more numbers in the near future.

Ram Charan – Buchi Babu’s film’s first schedule postponed again

Mega Power Star Ram Charan’s next project with Buchi Babu Sana has been the talk of the industry for quite some time now. There were a lot of speculations and last-minute changes regarding this project. However, after a long suspense, it was decided that he will collaborate with Buchi Babu Sana for RC 16.

The film was announced long back but due to the delay in Game Changer, RC 16’s shooting get delayed continuously. The first schedule of this Buchi Babu film was planned for this October. Later it got postponed to December and now it’s said to be postponed again to January/February 2024. AR Rahman has been brought on to compose the tunes here

Interestingly, Buchi Babu has earlier worked with Ram Charan as an AD on Rangasthalam which was directed by his mentor Sukumar. Charan heard the script and gave the green signal to this project. Not much is known about the genre and story of this film, but it is speculated that it is a rural subject with a sports backdrop.

The film is said to be formed on a budget of 300 Crores which is massive and the unit is in plans to make this a Pan India film, it is a sports-based drama with a village backdrop.

Rajinikanth playing the powerful police role in his next film?

Superstar Rajinikanth’s latest film” Jailer” having a terrific run at the box office. He will be next seen in a guest role in his daughter, Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s “Lal Salaam”. At the same time, there is a massive update on his 170th film, that he will be playing a powerful police role in the film.

Te inside reports strongly suggest that Superstar Rajinikanth, in the film, will appear as a cop who goes against the fake encounter punishment. The character is said to be an Intense one which will showcase the performer side of him. This new trend is unexpectedly bringing profits to the producers. With this, the production houses are bringing the films of many star heroes to the theaters to cash in on this craze. On the other hand, the fans of star heroes are behaving badly by damaging the screens during their re-release celebrations. 

Prabhas fans were celebrating the re-release of Yogi and while they were dancing at the Raj theater in Nandyal, they fell on the screen with over enthusiasm and both the screen was torn and damaged. The exhibitors in Nandyal decided to stop screening the re-release movies with. 

Over the past few months, this vandalism has emerged as a major problem for theater management, and they are facing massive losses. These losses ran into lakhs for many theatres. In many places, chairs and screens were also damaged, much to theater management’s disarray.

Directed by VV Vinayak, Yogi, the film was released in 2007. This is Prabhas’ immediate film after the blockbuster hit ‘Chhatrapati’. It was released in more than 225 theaters and created a record back then. Senior actress Sharada played the role of Prabhas’s mother in the film. Nayanthara was the heroine. The songs of the film Yogi, composed by Ramana Gogula, were very much liked by the audience.

Gandeevadhari Arjuna, the upcoming film of Mega Prince Varun Tej is due to be released all over the world on 25 August 2023. The film’s unit is very confident about the content and result of the film, and the Promotions are also in full swing. Now the film also set a crispy and short runtime for the film, which can act as a plus point for the film.

Gandeevadhari Arjuna, The film has successfully completed its censor formalities yesterday, as per the official update. The action thriller has received a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Also, the film has fixed a short and crispy runtime of 140 minutes (2 Hours 20 Minutes) which is a perfect length for the genre.

The film is directed by Praveen Sattaru and features Sakshi Vaidya as the female lead and Vinay Rai as the antagonist. The ensemble cast is made up of Nazar, Roshini Prakash, Manish Chaudhari, Abhinav Gomatam, Ravi Varma, Kalpalatha, and Baby Vedain. The movie, which is oridycedtby Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra, has its music composed by Mickey J Meyer.

Meanwhile, Matka, the debut pan-Indian movie of Varun Tej, was launched in a grand ceremony recently. Karuna Kumar is the director of this film that features Nora Fatehi and Meenakshi Chaudhary as the female leads.

Vijay Antony’s latest movie streaming on OTT

Vijay Antony’s latest theatrical release, Kolai, which has hit the screens in Tamil and Telugu languages recently, is now streaming on OTT. The Telugu version of the movie was titled as Hatya. Balaji Kumar has directed this crime drama, which failed to impress both the Tamil and Telugu audiences. Now the film is Streaming on OTT via Amazon Prime Video. Actor Director Vijay Antony took to his Twitter Account to reveal the news to. his fans.

As said above, the movie was also dubbed in Telugu as Hatya. Both the Telugu and Tamil versions have resulted as big disasters at the box office and as of now only the Tamil version Kolai is streaming on Amazon Prime Video while the Telugu version’s OTT platform’s details are yet to be released.

Meenakshi Chaudhary, Ritika Singh, Arjun Chidambaram, Radhikaa and Murali Sharma among others play pivotal characters in the film bankrolled by Infiniti Film Ventures and Lotus Pictures. Sivakumar Vijayan and Girishh Gopalakrishnan have handled cinematography and music respectively for the movie.

Though the film failed to impress the audiences in theaters, the film is expected to get good views upon its OTT release. Vijay Antony’s Tamilarasan and Pichaikkaran 2 which were released earlier this year are streaming on Zee5 and Disney + Hotstar.

Dulquer Salmaan’s Guns & Gulaabs Season 1 Streaming on OTT in all languages

Guns & Gulaabs, created by Raj and DK starring Dulquer Salmaan is now streaming on OTT in all languages. The series, which is set in the 1990s, features an ensemble cast that includes Rajkummar Rao, Dulquer Salmaan, Gulshan Devaiah, and Adarsh Gourav in the lead roles. August 18, 2023, marks the release of Guns & Gulaabs on Netflix, and the series will consist of seven episodes, all of which will be released at once. 

The series has started streaming on Netflix from at 1:30 PM on Friday, i.e, in Hindi, Malayalam, Telugu,Tamil and English languages. Talking about the show, one of the protagonists of Guns & Gulaabs, is a mechanic (Rajkummar Rao) who is trying to get out of the influence of his late mafia father while also seeking his true love. It is also shows the story of an unwilling cartel heir (Adarsh Gourav), who is stuck in a life in which he does not know what to do and is attempting to lead an army of henchmen who never take him seriously. 

The first-of-its-kind gangster comedy, Guns & Gulaabs, tells the narrative of a law enforcement officer (Dulquer Salmaan) who is actually a good guy but eventually becomes an agent of disorder. Also, two teenagers are depicted as going through love, betrayal, heartbreak, and a variety of other firsts during the course of the series.

Earlier in a statement, Tanya Bami, Director of Series, Netflix India, said, “Take the gangster genre, add a dose of Desi comedy to it, a generous flavoring of Bollywood, and spice it up with Raj & DK’s inimitable style; the outcome is, Guns & Gulaabs, a delectable mix of genres and an unforgettable entertaining experience. The screenplay was written by Suman Kumar, Raj, and DK, while Sumit Arora wrote the Hindi dialogues. T J Bhanu, Shreya Dhanwanthary, Pooja A Gor, and the late Satish Kaushik belong to the cast of Guns & Gulaabs.

Pawan Kalyan and Sai Dharam Tej starrer Bro which released on 28th July received mixed response and the same happened with the opening weekend Collections as well. The film failed to put strong numbers which are required for a star hero’s film from Day 1 itself and after the 1st weekend run the film had seen a big drop in the Collections. The worldwide Collections of this film are 66Crs and the breakeven mark was 100Crs.

Bro The Avatar ended up its run at the fourth position of this year’s films. The Top 5 list of movies which have collected the highest share in the Telugu version is topped by Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veeeryya, followed by Prabhas’s Adipurush at the second position, Balakrishna’s Veera Simha Reddy settled at the third place while Pawan Kalyan’s Bro The Avatar, as said above stands at the fourth position and Nani’s Dasara cemented the fifth position.
