Pawan Kalyan and Chiranjeevi say no to remakes

Everyone who is aware of the Telugu film industry knows that the Mega brothers, Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan have been criticized for choosing to do remakes. Since the pandemic and OTT rise, the audiences got the opportunity to watch films in many languages. So they are no more interested in. watching the films which are being remade from the other languages.

Both Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan’s last films were remakes and became failures at the box office. So now it is said that both these heroes would rather not do any remake and despite a few producers approaching them with new remake films, they said no.

As far as Pawan Kalyan, not only remakes, but it is being reported that he does not want to sign any film next. He wants to finish all his ongoing projects by this year-end or next year’s beginning and is in plans to take a big break or quit from the films. Chiranjeevi also does not want to do any remakes from now, he is interested only in straight films.

Recently, a producer met Chiranjeevi with the remake rights of a Malayalam super hit film. But it is reported that Chiru has said no to him candidly. It is learned that the megastar has decided not to do remakes anymore.

Multiple movies are re releasing in this week

It looks like the re-release trend in Tollywood is not going to stop anytime soon. The Telugu film audiences are awaiting the release of Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha’s Kushi on September 1St, but in the meantime, three old films will be released. Those films are Nagarjuna’s Manmadhudu, Balakrishna’s Bhairava Dweepam and Pawan Kalyan’s Gudumba Shankar.

The first film on this list is Manmadhudu, the film will be re released on the occasion of Nagarjuna’s birthday tomorrow. At first, the film was released in 2002, starring Nagarjuna, Sonali Bendre and Anshu in the lead roles. Though the film was directed by Vijay Bhaskar, Trivikram got more name than him because of the widely popular dialogues.

On the very next day, i.e., 30th August, Balakrishna’s old classic Bhairava Dweepam will be brought to the audience with 4K Ultra HD technology. The fantasy movie was released on April 14, 1994, and became the biggest hit. The film created a record by winning a total of 9 Nandi Awards.

Actor and writer Ravikondala Rao has written the story of Bhairava Dweepam which was loosely inspired by Patala Bhairavi starring Senior NTR. In the movie Bhairava Dweepam, Roja played the female lead opposite Balakrishna and Rambha appeared in a special song titled Naruda O Naruda. Singeetham Srinivasa Rao’s Bhairava Dweepam is the story of how a hero named Vijay saved the princess he loved from the clutches of an evil magician.

After that, on September 2nd, marking Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s birthday, Gudumba Shankar is getting re released. Directed by Veera Shankar and produced by Naga Babu under the banner of Anjana Productions, they originally released the film in 2004. Pawan Kalyan also provided the screenplay for the film and choreographed action sequences for the film as well.

Gandeevadhari Arjuna starring Varun Tej and Sakshi Vaidya released last week amidst zero interest from the audience, registering the worst opening of the actor’s career.  The film was made on a massive budget in Varun Tej’s career but shockingly witnessed a disastrous opening ever in his career.

Directed by Praveen Sattaru, this action thriller has received negligible shares in all territories and the overall worldwide share will be less than 1Cr after opening day. This shows what kind of disastrous opening the film has got.

The trend continued over the weekend as well. Normally 1st Sunday is the biggest for any film and most of the films will collect bigger than opening day on the 1st Sunday. Much to the shock of everyone, Gandeevadhari Arjuna saw deficits on 1st Sunday and failed to collect the shares itself and most of the theatres. After poor word-of-mouth negative reviews and zero pre-release buzz, the audience completely avoided the film.

The film also stars Nassar, Roshini Prakash, Manish Chaudhari, Abhinav Gomatam, Ravi Varma, Kalpalatha, and Baby Vedain. The movie, which is produced by Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra, has its music composed by Mickey J Meyer.

Jailer rampage continues, heading towards the 600Cr mark

Into its third week now, Rajinikanth’s Jailer has achieved yet another landmark. After emerging as the new Kollywood industry hit, the action entertainer with a superb third Sunday is now marching towards the Rs 600 crore mark.

The film witnessed a very good third Sunday in all territories Tamil Nadu, Telugu states, Kerala, and Karnataka. The film managed to collect a double-digit gross on Sunday across India and is racing towards the 600Cr gross mark. If the movie manages to hold the same momentum for one more week from tomorrow then it has all chances to join the exclusive 600Cr club.

With no biggie in sight for now, it appears quite a possible task for Jailer. Nelson Dilipkumar has written and directed Jailer, marking his solid comeback after the failure of Beast. Along with Rajinikanth in the lead role, the cameos of Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar have been liked immensely by the audiences. Anirudh Ravichander’s electrifying background score was another plus point for the film.

Released on. August 10th, Jailer is produced by Sun Pictures on a massive budget. The film’s Cinematographer is Vijay Karthik Kannan and the editing was handled by R Nirmal.

The fans of Nandamuri Family were very delighted to know the news that both Balakrishna and NTR will be gracing the prestigious event of SR NTR’s 100 rupees coin launch which is scheduled to be held on August 28th, i.e. tomorrow. But the latest reports strongly suggest that Tarak (NTR) is not going to make it to the event, and will be skipping it.

Everyone expected this time NTR and Balakrishna can be seen on the same stage for this event but, much to the dismay of the fans, Tarak is skipping the event. No one knows where the problem is really but NTR is continuously skipping the events in which Balakrishna is present. Even before also for the centenary celebrations of SR NTR, both NTR and Kalyan ram had skipped in Hyderabad.

Meanwhile, the Indian President Droupadi Murmu will be leading the ceremony for the release of the specially minted 100 RS coin of SR NTR at Rashtrapati Bhavan tomorrow. Invitees include Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Daggubati Purandeswari, Nandamuri Balakrishna and Jr. NTR.

The Govt. Of India has minted the ₹100 coin with the face of NTR for his centenary celebrations. This coin has a diameter of 44 mm and has 50% silver, 40% copper, 5% nickel & 5% zinc.

Mega Power Star Ram Charan is currently shooting for the film, Game Changer, directed by Shankar. Touted to be an action political drama, the film is all set to be released next year. Meanwhile, Ram Charan is gearing up for another crazy film. After Game Changer, Ram Charan had already agreed to act in another film under Uppena director Buchi Babu Sana’s direction.

Both Ram Charan and Buchi Babu are very excited about this movie. The film has been announced officially long ago. Now, the pre-production works for the film are going on at a rapid pace. Inside reports suggest that the film is going to have raw and rustic content. There are also reports that Ram Charan will deliver dialogues in Uttarandhra dialect in the film. Not only that, but it is being reported that the unit has already roped in assistant writers who can help with writing dialogues in authentic UA slang.

Coming to the latest update of the movie, the producers have also opened a new office for the film, which will be made on a massive budget. After Rangasthalam, Charan’s film is being produced once again by Mythri Movies. Pooja ceremonies were held for the opening of the new office today.

Along with the Producers of the film, Director Buchi Babu, Sukumar also attended the Pooja Ceremony as the chief guest. All of them traditionally participated in the Pooja Ceremony wearing yellow clothes. The photos of the ceremony have gone viral on the internet. Apologizing for the unfortunate incident where a student was roughed up by a bouncer during the Chandramukhi 2 audio launch, Raghava Lawrence, the renowned actor/director/choreographer, shared a brief message on his social media account.

Taking to his X account (formerly known as Twitter), the actor wrote, “Hello everyone, I just came to know about the unfortunate incident which happened during our Chandramukhi 2 movie Audio Launch, where one of the Bouncers involved in a fist fight with a college student.”

The actor further added, “First of all, myself or the organizers were not aware of this incident as it happened outside the hall when the event was happening inside. It’s a well-known fact that everyone knows how much I love our students & how much I wish to see them grow. Being that kind of a person, I’m always against these kinds of fights. I always wish there would be happiness & peace everywhere we go. Whatever the reason, it maybe it’s definitely wrong to hit someone & especially when it’s a student, this shouldn’t have happened.”

“ I, personally, apologize for what happened during that time. And I sincerely request the bouncers not to involve in these kinds of activities hereafter.” Raghava Lawrence ended the letter by apologizing and urging the bouncers not to be involved in such activities.

Meanwhile, Chandramukhi 2 will be released at the theaters on September 15. The film, directed by P Vasu, also features Kangana Ranaut, Vadivelu, Radhika Sarathkumar, Mahima Nambiar, Lakshmi Menon, Ravi Maria, and Shrushti Dange, among others. The film’s cinematography is done by RD Rajasekar and editing is handled by Lewellyn Gonsalvez.

Distribution is a completely different ball game compared to production. This involves in-depth planning and promotion, and efficient management of the exhibitor network. The inability to do any of this can lead to severe losses even if the film’s quality is good. Mythri Movie Makers have recently entered into the distribution business in the Nizam region. This area is dominated by established distributors like Dil Raju and Asian Group.

Fans have complaints with Mythri stating they open the bookings just one or two days before the release. On the other hand, in Nizam, distributors like Dil Raju, Global Cinemas, and some other distributors will open the bookings 4-5 days in advance and even release the theatre’s chart at the same time.

Mythri team is doing all of these at the last minute leaving everyone confused and anxious. They did the same for does the same for Adipurush, Bro, and now something similar is being repeated for Kushi which is days away from its release. All other distributors are locking and opening the theatres for bookings 4-5 days before and Mythri needs to do the same.

The film has many reasons for its failure, but the wrong advice given by Ram Charan to Varun Tej is one of them.

Before the release of Gandeevadhari Arjuna, during the promotional interviews, Varun Tej said that Ram charan had advised him to do different concept films without any restrictions or box office calculations. He said that he always listens to his brother’s advice.

But this can be said as wrong advice for a hero because the market always depends on calculations and any hero should understand this and make films according to the people’s taste. They should not miss the elements what people love to watch in the films. Many big directors and heroes said before that a hero should not see in the angle of their liking, but they always should think about what people will like, and they need to do the same.

Ghani and now Gandeevadhari Arjuna both the last two films of Varun Tej are not only failures, but they have had a big impact on Varun Tej’s market. If his next movie also faces the same result, then he is in the danger of losing the market as a Hero.
