Finally, Srinu Vaitla’s next film being launched officially

Director Srinu Vaitla has created a new trend in Tollywood by scoring blockbusters with comedy films. He has been trailing in the race for the last few years due to consecutive failures, and finally, it is said that he has found a hero for his next film and is expected to wield the megaphone after four years. The hero is said to be none other than Macho Star Gopichand.

Gopichand is currently working on an action entertainer titled Bhimaa, and it is expected to be released early next year. Gopichand has been holding talks with Srinu Vaitla for an entertainer for a while now. Finally, it is being reported that Srinu Vaitla locked the final script and Gopichand recently gave his final nod to it. The pre-production work of the project is happening at a fast pace.

As per the reports, the film will be launched in a grand manner on September 9. Reportedly, the shooting will start in Italy on September 20th.

It is also said that the makers are considering Viswam to be the title of the movie. The team is currently looking for locations for shooting a significant portion of the film, which will be shot abroad. Srinu Vaitla, who delivered a series of failures, took a lot of time to finish the script and is very eager to give a comeback in the industry.

Kushi worldwide theatrical business and breakeven details

Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha’s upcoming romantic drama Kushi is all set to be released on September 1St. Directed by Shiva Nirvana of Majili and Ninnu Kori fame, the film had superb buzz in the audiences and trade circles from the starting itself. Though in the Last few weeks the buzz for the film had gone a bit downwards but still, the film was able to register good advance bookings. Let’s take a look at Kushi’s worldwide theatrical business and breakeven details.

Kushi did a superb business in all markets. The Nizam region is valued at 15Cr, Ceeded at 6Cr Andhra at 20Cr the Total Telugu states business will be at 41Cr. The Telugu version business is close to 50Cr and the movie needs to 50Cr+ share to achieve breakeven and other versions will be around 3-4 Cr. So it has to collect over 55 CR worldwide share to achieve the hit status.

Ravi Shankar under the banner of Mythri Movie Makers, the film also has Murali Sharma, Jayaram, Sachin Khedekar, Saranya Pradeep, and Vennela Kishore in crucial roles. Hesham Abdul Wahab, who has scored the music for the Malayalam film Hrudayam is composing the tunes for the film.

Kushi is scheduled to be released in theaters on September 1 in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam languages.

Everyone who is aware of the Telugu film industry’s proceedings and the changes in its market and other issues knows about the ticket rates problem which the industry has faced during for almost a year from 2021 to 2022 summer. The difficulty sorted on the release day of Pawan Kalyan’s Vakeel Saab, and it was sorted out at the release time of Prabhas’s Radhe Shyam.

The government of Andhra Pradesh had put a decent and affordable ticket prices for the audience. From then, almost all the films followed the new GO prices and if anyone wanted a hike in their prices would have asked the government for the hike through an official process presenting some documents which have to contain certain details about the film’s budget etc.

However, a few theater owners/distributors in Andhra Pradesh are ignoring the government’s set ticket prices and charging more than twice as much in the recent days it seems.

It is unclear why the government is not stopping this, and even the online booking platforms are also allowing the distributors to do this rate fudging officially. The prices are putting a burden on the audiences.

Cut to the present, not only star heroes or directors, even the Tier 2 Heroes and directors doing the same as non-theatrical business has increased by miles and even the theatrical business is also being done for big numbers. If a film clicks in other languages, then the box office performance is becoming unpredictable.

So now for most of the top and medium budget films, both the heroes and directors are taking minimum remuneration at first and for the remaining part they are taking a percentage of films’ overall business.

As said above, the OTT platforms have seen an unexpected rise over the recent years. Especially post pandemic, the change in the films’ business both theatrical and non-theatrical wise is clearly seen.

Kushi success is crucial for everyone

Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha starrer Kushi is all set to release tomorrow and there are high expectations set on this project. Both Vijay Devarakonda and Samantha have faced massive failures with their last projects Liger and Shaakuntalam and they desperately need a big hit. Same applies to Shiva Nirvana as well who faced a roadblock with his last film Tuck Jagadish after delivering two back-to-back hits through Ninnu Kori and Majili.

In an unexpected turn of events, The High Court of Andhra Pradesh has served legal notices to the upcoming film of Ravi Teja, Tiger Nageswara Rao. Everyone is aware that the film’s teaser, which was released a few days back, received a superb response. However, this court notice has appear to be a shocker to the makers.

The high court criticized the teaser of the film that was released a short while ago for hurting the feelings and sentiments of the people of Stuartpuram.

“The dialogues in the teaser hurt the sentiments of a section of the public in Stuartpuram. How can you release the teaser without the certificate from the censor board? What kind of message are you intending to convey to the public through content like this?” The high court stated.

The court stated that the makers of the film should be accountable to society, and if they do fail in doing so, it could be considered as an antisocial behavior. Moreover, the court served the notices to Abhishek Agarwal who produced the movie and asked him to reply in 4 weeks or there will be severe disciplinary measures against the people involved.

A PIL had been filed in AP High Court that it hurt the sentiments of Stuartpuram Villagers and also a community. Furthermore, the High Court asked the Mumbai CBFC Chairperson should be made an ex-party to the PIL and asked how the teaser was released without getting Censored.

Nayanthara, who has a tendency to avoid social media and public appearances like the plague, seems to have had a change of heart. Shortly before her upcoming film Jawan’s trailer was supposed to land, her Instagram debut took place.

A video of her carrying her sons Uyir and Ulagam and striking a stylish pose was shared by the actress as her first post on Instagram. The trio were seen dressed in white and were sporting sunglasses. She captioned the post, “Naan vandhutaen nu sollu… (Tell them I have arrived).”

Prabhas’ Salaar Telugu states Theatrical business details

Prabhas’ Salaar, directed by Prashanth Neel is less than a month away from its theatrical release. The anticipation is at an all-time high with both fans and trade circles setting extremely high expectations on Prabhas to make a massive comeback with this project.

The Telugu states’ theatrical business has been closed and here are the details. For Nizam, makers quoted 75Cr, 35Cr for Ceeded, and Rs 100Cr for Andhra. Homable Films expected a Rs 200Cr range business from Telugu states but the buyers are not ready to give those bigger amounts and now the business is closing at comparatively lower prices than quoted. Ceeded closed for 25Cr and for Andhra also, the ratio is now changed to Rs 75Cr – 80Cr. The Nizam region is in discussions for around 60Cr. This brings the total Telugu states business in the range of 160Cr – 165Cr now.

Prabhas’ Salaar is one of the most anticipated movies of this year and the promotions of this Prashanth Neel film is expected to start in a couple of weeks. The film stars Shruti Haasan, Jagapathy Babu, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Easwari Rao in key roles. 

It will hit the screens worldwide on 28th September. The movie takes place in a Mafia-dominated world of organized crime.
