Shankar announces his dream project

Maverick Director, Shankar‘s current film, Indian 2 is releasing tomorrow worldwide. The film had been in the making for many years and having the much needed release tomorrow. The Director is also part of one more film, Game Changer starring Tollywood Actor, Ram Charan. Game Changer’s shoot too has come to the finishing part. Now, Shankar has announced his dream project.

Shankar said that he read a novel called Velpari in the Covid period and had liked it very much. The Director also said that he started writing screenplay to convert that novel as a film and had completed it as well. The plan is on to make the project into three parts. He also said that he was yet to take a call on the casting for the movie. It was rumoured that Ranveer Singh was considered for the project but didn’t get the confirmation.

On the other hand, Shankar has to finish Indian 3 as well after the release of Indian 2. He said that the making will be finished and the third part will release within six months after Indian 2’s release. The Director is betting big on both the parts. Game Changer, as said is also completed and may release either during this Christamas or in the early 2025.

Akshay Kumar: A Producer’s nightmare

Akshay Kumar was one of the leading stars of Bollywood for many years. He scored many blockbusters as well. But he lost track with some flops and found it tough to get going. He also did multiple projects at a time and released them continuously in short span. He took remuneration more than 100 crores as well. Akshay Kumar has become a Producer’s nightmare as well.

He recently starred in Bade Miyan Chote Miyan which became a big disaster at the box office despite huge budget. Now, his current film, Sarfira (remake of Suriya’s Soorarai Pottru/Aakasam Nee Haddu raa) is releasing tomorrow. But the advance bookings of the film are not even close to 2 crores in India. These are truly disastrous bookings.

A big positive word of mouth may not bring audiences to the theatres and hence it may end up getting less than 20 crores in India. This will be a big loss considering his remuneration of 100 crores. He is not able to get even a 10 crore opening gross at least. This is definitely turning Akshay Kumar into a Producer’s nightmare. He needs to give a big come back to take care of his market in the future.

Game Changer: Shankar’s mass film

Maverick Director, Shankar is currently busy for his Indian 2, scheduled for release tomorrow. The Director also made himself busy for one more film, Game Changer starring Ram Charan. This film was started long ago and was simultaneously filmed along with Indian 2. Now with the release of Indian 2 tomorrow, everyone is waiting for Game Changer. Now, Shankar revealed that Game Changer will be a mass film for sure.

Shankar in an interview told that Game Changer will mark as a comeback for him in Mass film genre. He also expressed that he liked many Telugu Mass commercial films and talked about Karthik Subbaraj who had written the story for the film. He also mentioned that he had made it a whole film after taking the story. Game Changer’s shoot is almost finished and only a 10 day portion of shoot needs to be completed. Game Changer is expected to release either during the Christmas season or in the early 2025 next year.

Ram Charan recently completed his part of the shooting. He will be busy now for his upcoming film with Buchi Babu, fame of Uppena. A.R. Rahman is acting as the music composer for the film as well.

Indian 2: Why Anirudh is silent?

Tamil Music sensation, Anirudh Ravichander has scored the music for Indian 2, schedule for release tomorrow. The Music Director had provided a good score. Songs of the film received good applause as well. But many are questioning him now. They are wondering Why Anirudh is silent about Indian 2.

Anirudh in the recent times has started a trend. He would post a hint about the film after watching the final cut through a tweet. He did this for his previous films, Jailer, Jawaan and Leo just before the release which increased the respective films’ hype. The Music Director did the same thing for Devara ahead of Devara’s teaser release. But Anirudh is maintaing silence on Indian 2. He didn’t mention anything about Indian 2 on his official X/Twitter account.

Indian 2 is already carrying a low buzz. The promos and trailer didn’t quite impress the audiences. The film is also releasing tomorrow and fans expect Anirudh to tweet something about the film at least now. There is another part of the film in the making i.e.,. Indian 3. Indian 2 performance affects the making and plan of Indian 3 as well. So, Anirudh’s tweet is crucial for Indian 2 to get a good opening. Let’s see how the Music Director responds to this.

Indian 2 Advance bookings: crosses 25 crore mark

Indian 2 is releasing tomorrow in the theatres worldwide. The film’s advance bookings have also opened and picked a decent growth. In the overseas market, the pre-sales for the opening day are at $1.45 Million i.e.,.12 crores. In India the advance bookings are in the range of 13 crores. The total worldwide advance bookings are approximately in the range of 25 crores gross.

Indian 2 is expected to open with more than 50 crores gross worldwide. This is a very good number considering the low buzz that is existing around the film. If the reviews and word of mouth are positive, then huge walk-ins could be expected. Then the shows may also pick momentum and the over-all opening number will be much bigger. The team is betting big on the same as well. They have been busy promoting the film everywhere.

With just one day left for the release, the team expects to deliever a big blockbuster. A thid part in the series, Indian 3 is in the making as well. Indian 3 is right now planned to release six months after the release of Indian 2. So Indian 2 must perform well for Indian 3 to carry a good buzz. Let’s hope for the best.

Kalki 2898 AD: Missing 1000 Cr?

After an excellent 2nd weekend, Kalki 2898 AD saw a drop in this week’s collections Yesterday, in Telugu states, the share was less than Rs 1 Cr. Even in other languages, the collections dropped a bit. The film is already a huge success and has managed to collect huge gross in domestic as well as overseas market.

But now, the question arises whether is will join the exclusive Rs 1000 Cr club or not. At the moment, this equation looks tough as Kalki 2898 AD has so far grossed around 840 Cr. Collecting around 160 Cr from here looks tough. With Indian 2 releasing on 12th July, it needs to be seen how this Prabhas starter manages to perform on its 3rd weekend.

If Indian 2 opens with positive word of mouth, then definitely there is no chance for Kalki 2898 AD to join 1000 Cr club. However, looking at the current buzz and lack of general interest in Indian 2, the film requires an extraordinary word of mouth and positive reviews to get off a rocking start and stop Kalki’s box office run.

Bharateeyudu 2: Low buzz, high ticket price !

Bharateeyudu 2, the Telugu dubbed version of Indian 2 is scheduled for release on July 12th i.e.,.tomorrow worldwide. The film is already carrying a low buzz and Telugu states rights were sold for 25 crores. The advance bookings for the film have already opened today with a high ticket price. Bharatteyudu 2 as said carrying a low buzz and with this high ticket prices, will it yield the result ?

Telangana Government has allowed a high ticket price for Bharateeyudu 2. The business for the film is lesser than medium Telugu budget films. Now one wonders why a hike in ticket prices was asked and granted by the government. These high ticket prices will be in force for one week. A ₹75 hike in Multiplexes and ₹50 in Single Screens has been fixed for these 7 days. There will be five shows per day as well.

This ticket hike is already affecting many biggies even with a great buzz. Audience would come to the theatres to watch these biggies even with a hiked ticket price. But a small budget or medium budget films may not fare well if hike happens. If the talk of the film happens to be negative then it would face a big jolt.

Sitar song released from Mr. Bachchan

Tollywood Actor Ravi Teja’s current film, Mr. Bachchan is directed by Harish Shankar. The film is an official sequel to Bollywood film, Raid starring Ajay Devgan. The film’s glimpse has already been out where Jagapathi Babu was seen playing the antagonist role. Now, Mr. Bachchan’s first lyrical song, Sitar has been released on YouTube.

The Melody song feels refreshing and cool. It is composed by Mickey J. Meyer. The chemistry of the lead pair, Ravi Teja and Bhagashri Borse looks good. Sung by Saketh Komunduri, Sameera Bharadwaj with lyrics by Sahithi. Ayananka Bose’s cinematography looks an added advantage with the visuals. T.G. Vishwa Prasad stands as the producer of the film under his People Media Factory.

Ravi Teja is looking to score a big hit with the film. His last three films, Ravanasura, Tiger Nageswara Rao and Eagle were major disappointments. Ravi Teja’s last hit film was Waltair Veerayya co-starring Chiranjeevi. The Actor now aims to bounce back from his flop spree. He also started his production house, RT Team Works recently and produced few films. Mr. Bachchan is Harish Shankar and Ravi Teja’s third collaboration after Shock and Mirapakay. We have to see how Mr. Bachchan comes out.

Shankar explains the need of Indian 3

Director Shankar is busy promoting his current film, Indian 2. The main cast of the film is also taking part in these promotions. The film is scheduled for release on July 12th worldwide. Shankar while conducting the press meet talked about the need and importance of Indian 3/Bharateeyudu 3, the third part of Indian/Bharateeyudu series.

A reporter asked him about the need of Indian 3 indicating if there was an importance of Indian 3. To this Shankar replied saying that the length of Indian 2 was not only big but also important. He said that he couldn’t make a choice to remove a particular scene from the whole film. This, according to him was the main reason behind planning for a third part. The Director also felt that there was no compulsion or anyone behind this motive.

Kamal Haasan also answered to the question saying that he too had wanted a third part. The Actor also has been saying that Indian 3 excited him more than the current Indian 2. Indian 3 will release six months after Indian 2’s release. So that indicates that the third part will release either during Christmas or in the early 2025. Shankar also has another film, Game Changer in the line up.

Kanguva Producer praises Telugu cinema and Telugu Audience

Kanguva Producer, K.E. Gnanavel Raja has come in praise of Telugu Cinema and Telugu Audience. His production banner, Studio Green is a well known banner in Tamil and he often produces Suriya’s films as well. The Producer in an interview given recently talked high about Telugu Cinema and Telugu Audience. This is going viral now on social media platforms.

The producer has applauded Director SS Rajamouli by saying that the Director had escalated South Cinema Industry to Bollywood and opened a market there. He also said that there were many other Telugu Films which did very well after Baahubali quoting RRR, Saaho and Pushpa. He also commended the mentality of Telugu Audiences saying that they owned Tamil Heroes as theirs. K.E. Gnanavel Raja also opined that this didn’t happen with Tamil Audiences as they saw others as not theirs.

K.E. Gnanavel Raja also took the example of Atlee who did great in Bollywood with Jawaan starring Shah Rukh Khan. On the other hand, Kanguva made on a large scale budget is currently under shoot and eyeing the release date of October 10th. An official announcement has already been made about this. Now, Kanguva’s sequel, Kanguva 2 was also announced yesterday.
