The makers of Karuppu have officially issued a strong legal notice after unauthorized screenings of the film reportedly took place in Mumbai, Pune, and other parts of North India without the producers’ approval. The Karuppu notice has sparked serious discussions about piracy control and content security in the film industry.

Unauthorized Screenings in North India

During a recent press meet conducted by the Tamil Nadu Producers Council, the unauthorized screening issue became one of the major talking points. The council revealed that Karuppu was screened in certain locations without the knowledge or final authorization of the production team, leading to serious concerns over copyright violations.

According to the official legal notice released on behalf of Dream Warrior Pictures, the producers stated that unauthorized activation of KDMs (Key Delivery Messages) by QUBE Cinema Technologies resulted in illegal theatrical screenings of the Tamil version in multiple North Indian cities. Because of these screenings, several visuals, clips, and scenes from the film were allegedly recorded and circulated across social media platforms.

Piracy Warning and Legal Consequences

The Karuppu notice also warned the public against downloading, sharing, forwarding, or circulating any leaked content from the film through platforms like WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, and torrent websites. The producers emphasized that such actions are punishable under the Copyright Act, Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and the Information Technology Act.

At the press meet, the Tamil Nadu Producers Council confirmed that QUBE Cinema Technologies acknowledged its mistake in the matter and assured that compensation would be provided to the producers for the damages caused by the unauthorized KDM activation.
