Suresh Babu Clarifies: Cinema Industry Will Not Engage in Political Agendas

In both Telugu states, Chandrababu Naidu’s arrest has been a hot topic recently. However, Tollywood has kept a low profile about Naidu’s arrest. Chandrababu’s good relationship with the Telugu film fraternity is why many are shocked by the silence in the film industry regarding Naidu’s arrest. One of the top producers and a studio owner, Suresh Babu, whose father Dr. Ramanaidu was the MP from TDP, was asked about Chandrababu’s arrest at the latest event, he has not mince words and clarified his thoughts on Naidu’s arrest.

“As an industry we have always stayed non-political and non-religious. From the time the industry was in Chennai until it moved to Hyderabad, it has always remained away from politics. While some of us may have personal inclinations towards political parties, the industry as a whole is always non-political. During the Telangana and Andhra bifurcation, the film industry remained silent about making any statements. The film industry is here to make films, and we would rather not make any statements on sensitive and ongoing political issues,” said Suresh Babu. “I may like a leader and I may not like a leader. It is my personal opinion. But as a film industry as a whole, it is non-political,” added Suresh Babu.

Suresh Babu described Chandrababu Naidu’s arrest as a sensitive topic, and he maintained that the film industry wants to stay apolitical in all issues. Suresh Babu’s comment on the topic was both polite and diplomatic on the whole. Suresh Babu made these comments during the media interaction of ‘Sapta Sagaralu Dhaati Side A’ Telugu dubbed film of Kannada Hero Rakshit Shetty which is being released by the People Media Factory on 22nd September.

Shahrukh Khan’s Jawan is on a record-breaking spree setting up box-office milestones like never before. With the blockbuster success of Jawan, director Atlee’s stocks in Bollywood have risen beyond imagination. The young Kollywood director has become the hot-property in Bollywood with several top stars now interested in collaborating with him.

Atlee, on the other hand, is keenly focussed on his dream project i.e. Shahrukh Khan- Vijay multistarrer. In fact, there were reports in the past that ‘Thalapathy’ would be playing a cameo role in Jawan. This, however, didn’t work out and the cameo was instead played by Sanjay Dutt.

Speaking about the SRK-Vijay multistarrer, Atlee said, “In My Birthday party both Thalapathy Vijay & Shah Rukh Khan asked me to bring a Script for them. Both said yes to will be a part of it. I thought they were just saying it for my birthday.”

The director added that he received a message from Vijay the next day saying, “If you are gonna write then definitely I’ll be a part of it.”

At the same time, Shah Rukh Khan was next to me and asked, “Are you serious about it..?? We are gonna make a film together right..??” And I said, “Yes sir..”

Atlee added that both the superstars are extremely pumped about the multistarrer. “Every now and then they inquire about it.. and I’m seriously working on it,” added Atlee.

Akkineni Naga Chaitanya is going through a proper planning process for his next film under the direction of Chandoo Mondeti. This is Naga Chaitanya’s 23rd film and the expectations on the film are slowly increasing because of the film’s promotions. The film is being made as a Pan Indian film, and Naga Chaitanya will be seen in the role of a fisherman in the film. Today, the makers have released an intriguing video to announce the lead actress of the film.

Sai Pallavi is said to have fixed as the main female lead of the film. Reportedly there were various names under consideration until recently. It is yet to be officially announced, but the members of the film unit released a special video in which Sai Pallavi’s face was not shown. But If you look at those gestures, and hairstyle, it is clear that it is Sai Pallavi only.

It is widely known to everyone that Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi were seen Sekhar Kammula’s Love Story and the film was a good success and the fans loved the pair. Now it will be interesting to see this lovely pair on screen once again.

NC 23, the film is based on real life incidents. The director took a lot of time for the pre-production works of the film. It was only after many workshops that he decided to start the film with a plan. The work on the film is almost in its final stages.

In 2018, 21 fishermen from Gujarat were caught by the Pakistan Coast Guard while they were fishing on the seashore. The director is going to bring the story to the silver screen based on the life of one of those men, named Rama Rao. Naga Chaitanya has already gone to Srikakulam district and has also learned about the lifestyle of fishermen there.

The team also went to a village and watched the fishermen’ way of life there. Director Chandoo Mondeti, Naga Chaitanya and producer Bunny Vass have made all kinds of efforts to see that pre-production of the film goes very smoothly.

Story: Ravi (Venu Thottempudi) is a writer who lives with his wife Sandhya (Aditi Gowtham), who is paralyzed in a big ancient house. On one rainy night,  Maya (Avantika) enters Ravi’s house asking for shelter. Then comes a YouTuber Saveri (Venkatesh Kakumanu), who fears a ghost. Thereafter, unexpected events start to trouble the trio. Who is trying to harm them? How is Maya connected to the incidents? Who is Prakash (Ravi Varma)? Now did Ravi was able to tackle the problems? Answers to these questions form the rest of the story. 

Performances: Venu Thottempudi was nice and looked dignified as Ravi. In the climax, he got a chance to show his acting prowess, and he did a good job. Avantika was good, and she could have done better if her character had more weight. Aditi Goutham was natural while Venkatesh Kakumanu, Ravi Varma, Bhadram and others were ok.

Verdict:

Athidhi is a standard Web Series with a regular plot and taking. The performances of Venu Thottempudi, Avantika and good climax work well for the series, while predictable writing and unexciting twists do not work for it. Overall, the series can be watched at leisure without many expectations.

Official details for Sampoornesh Babu’s Telugu remake of Yogi Babu’s Mandela revealed

Yogi Babu’s Mandela was one of the most surprisingly hit movies of the recent times. The political satire film featured Yogi Babu in lead and was well appreciated for its subject and portrayal of today’s politics. The story follows the life of Mandela, a barber in a village who becomes the centre of attraction during the village panchayat elections.

This film will now be remade in Telugu starring Sampoornesh Babu in titular role. Actor Naresh will also be seen in a key role in this political satire. The film in Telugu is titled Martin Luther King. Y Not Studios made an official announcement on social media.

Puja Kolluru will direct the film while C/O Kancharapalam directed Venkatesh Maha will be the creative producer for this film. It will be bankrolled by S Sashikanth and Ramachandra Chakravarthy. Yogi Babu’s Mandela had won 2 National Awards- one for Best Screenplay and the other for Best Debutant Director. It will be interesting to see how Martin Luther King, which is releasing on October 27th will be received.

Tollywood is being shaken by the Drugs Case issue once again. The case has become a constant concern for Hero Navdeep as the Police Still suspect his involvement in the case. The Telangana High Court has already prohibited the police from arresting Navdeep in the Madhapur drug case. But Navdeep has been described by the police as a drug user in this situation.

According to a statement given by Ram Chand, the close friend of Navdeep, who was caught in the police raids, reportedly said Navdeep had drugs with him. The Telangana Narcotics Bureau officials included Navdeep as an accused in the case due to the statement of Ram Chand.

In this order, on the 16th of this month, Narcotics Bureau police conducted a raid at Navdeep’s house in Hyderabad. It is reported that Navdeep was not at home at that time. On the other hand, it is known that Navdeep approached the TS High Court to issue orders not to arrest him. The High Court responded positively to Navdeep’s plea.

Navdeep was prohibited from being arrested until Tuesday. Today, it is reported that the Narcotic Bureau will file a counter-argument in the High Court regarding Navdeep, in light of this background.

As per the reports, a drugs’ party was hosted at Fresh Living Apartments in Madhapur on the 31st of August. The Narcotics Bureau arrested 13 individuals who were present at the party. The Narcotics Bureau is planning to arrest and interrogate Navdeep as well.

Ram Pothineni and Boyapati Sreenu’s mass action entertainer Skanda, which was scheduled to be released on September 15th has postponed its release to two weeks. As the Pan Indian film of Prabhas, Salaar was postponed from September 28, Skanda seized the opportunity to grab that date. However, thereafter, the team kept completely silent except for releasing songs and posters.

The Skanda team’s silence gas left fans and audience in the dark as the release date is approaching. The team did a pre-release event many days back and no promotional activities have happened after that.

The team is releasing the posters and a singles, one after another, but that is definitely not enough, especially for the film which is set to be released in all languages. Saiee Manjrekar will be seen in the second female role in Skanda while Sree Leela is the main female lead. Srinivasaa Chitturi produced the film under the banner of Srinivasaa Silver Screen. Thaman composed the music for the film. Apart from Telugu, the film will also be available in Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada languages.

In just 4 days, Mark Antony becomes Vishal’s highest grossing film in Tamil

After a long gap, Tamil Hero Vishal has received a big success at the box office. His latest film, Mark Antony, not only achieved success at the box office, but it has also become his highest grossing film. Made as a comedy actioner, the film was directed by Adhik Ravichandran.

Currently, Mark Antony is rocking at the box office and collected more than 50Cr gross in just 4 days in Tamil. This is the 1st 50Cr+ grosser film for Vishal in Tamil. His previous best was Irumbu Thirai [Abhimanyudu in Telugu]. The film’s Tamil language gross was around 45Cr.

But the disappointing thing is Mark Antony’s Telugu performance. If we go back, Abhimanyudu had collected more than 20Cr gross in the Telugu states, but Mark Antony has collected around 6Cr gross in 4 days in the Telugu States.

Mark Antony stars Vishal and SJ Suryah in dual roles. Ritu Varma and Abhinaya are the female leads, while Sunil and Selvaraghavan appear in important roles. Directed by Adhik Ravichandran, Mark Antony’s music is scored by GV Prakash Kumar. The film is of science-fiction genre and follows the story of Mark, who finds a phone that can help manipulate time.

Official: SS Rajamouli presenting the biopic of Indian cinema

SS Rajamouli, the top director, is in the process of working on his next film that will begin production soon. He is set to present a biopic that will be produced by his son Karthikeya, in an interesting development. The cast and crew for this masterpiece will be revealed soon. Today, there was an official announcement made about the project by Rajamouli himself. The film is titled MADE IN INDIA, and it will be directed by Nitin Kakkar, who won a national award.

Varun Gupta and SS Karthikeya will jointly produce the movie, MADE IN INDIA. Marathi, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam are the languages the film will be released in.

The filmmaker announced through a video on Twitter after creating suspense and hype. “When I first heard the narration, it moved me emotionally like nothing else. Making a biopic is tough in itself, but conceiving one about the FATHER OF INDIAN CINEMA is even more challenging. Our boys are ready and up for it…With immense pride, Presenting MADE IN INDIA (in the original),” he tweeted.

Rajamouli will be directing Superstar Mahesh Babu for his next film, which will be made as an action adventure. KL Narayana is the producer of the film, which will start rolling next year.
