Theaters in Telugu States struggle to cover rent expenses

The theaters in Telugu states are having a very tough time as they are struggling to cover rent expenses as well. As movies which were scheduled to be released on the last weekend had postponed, there were no notable Telugu movies released on last weekend, and only a Tamil dubbed film Mark Antony was released on September 15th.

The saddest part is even Vishal’s film is also not doing that well here and previous releases are also not running well all which resulted in the theater owners in Telugu states struggling even to get the rents and the sad part is it will continue for another week as there are no notable releases in this weekend as well.

Saptha Sagaralu Daati, a Kannada dubbed film, is the only potential release this week. It received good reviews in Kannada, but the film caters to a specific audience only. Multiplex audiences are likely to embrace this film if it manages to resonate with its target audience and gets good talk, as mentioned. The release date for this film is tomorrow, September 22nd.

Then there’s 7G Brindavan Colony that will be re-released in theaters on September 22nd. If that’s not enough, there are no Telugu films worth mentioning that are scheduled to be released this weekend. Moreover, there are three films – Skanda, Chandramukhi 2, and Peddha Kapu -1 – that are scheduled to be released next weekend. It would have been nice if one of them could have reserved this weekend slot to take advantage of the vacuum and which would have helped the theaters in generating revenue.

Vishal: Mark Antony is a Career Milestone and my first 100Cr Movie

Tamil Hero Vishal’s latest speech about director Adhik Ravichandran at the success meet of his latest film, Mark Antony, has received a massive applause from the fans and many. The film was released on September 15th, the last Friday. Vishal stated that Mark Antony is a milestone movie in his career and his first 100Cr Movie.

Directed by Adhik Ravichandran, the film stars Vishal and SJ Suryah in the lead roles. ‘Mark Antony’, a time travel gangster drama starring Ritu Varma, Abhinaya and others in the major roles, has been receiving good response from the masses. At this juncture, the success of the film was held in Chennai. Vishal, SJ Suryah, Adhik Ravichandran, Nizhalgal Ravi and Vishnupriya Gandhi participated in the event.

Speaking at the function, Vishal first spoke about the death of Vijay Antony’s daughter. “I always call Vijay Antony ‘Raja’. When I was in Hyderabad, I and S J Suryah sir and Adhik Ravichandran all spoke about the loss of Vijay Antony, we were deeply saddened that ‘when we have such a heavy mind, how will he (Vijay Antony) and his family going to face it?’

God should stand by their family. Such a big loss is no ordinary thing. It will take a long time to recover from it. Not just Vijay Antony, god should give everyone in their family the power to come out of this. I will stand by Vijay Antony for the rest of my life.”

Talking about the film later, he said, “When I announced that I was doing a film with Adhik, many people asked me, ‘Why are you doing a film with him too?’. I like the content and have faith in him too. I told him he’d do it right. The same people who asked me that are the ones who called me now and said, The film is good. Adhik Ravichandran has directed the film very well.

Now there is a possibility that plenty of people will call Adhik Ravichandran and ask him to give the next dates. That’s the world of cinema. Thank you, for the people who keep us alive. As far as Adhik Ravichandran is concerned, this is his first film. His journey is about to begin now”

Vishal also said that Mark Antony is his career biggest film, a milestone and will be joining the 100Cr club and which makes it the 1st ever 100Cr film in his career.

Actress Trisha officially addresses marriage rumors and clarifies

There was a strong set of rumors that actress Trisha is all set to get married for a few days. According to reports, it was said that the actress is in a relationship with a film producer from the Malayalam industry and plans to get married to him. There is no truth to the rumors, however. To respond to the speculations, Trisha used her social media account.

In her post on X (formerly known as Twitter), she wrote in all caps. “DEAR “YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE AND YOUR TEAM”, “KEEP CALM AND STOP RUMOURING” CHEERS! (in the original),” she wrote.

Trisha is currently preparing for the release of her upcoming film, ‘Leo’, in which she will be collaborating with Thalapathy Vijay on the screen. Lokesh Kanagaraj is the director of this action thriller, and it will be released in theaters on October 19. She has completed the shooting of ‘The Road’ as well.

Reportedly, the actress has been hired to take on the role of the female lead in Ajith Kumar’s upcoming film, VidaaMuyarchi. The official announcement is still awaited on this, though. Trisha is working on ‘Ram’ and ‘Identity’ as well.

Jaane Jaan Movie Review – Ordinary thriller backed by terrific performances

Story: In West Bengal, Maya D’Souza (Kareena Kapoor Khan) lives with her daughter Tara (Naisha Khanna)in Kalimpong and she runs a cafe. During an unforgettable night, she happens to kill her estranged husband, Ajit Mhatre (Saurabh Sachdeva). Naren (Jaideep Ahlawat), her creepy neighbour, decides to help Maya to cover up the crime for reasons that are best known to him. A crime investigation commences and Police Officer Karan Anand (Vijay Anand) arrives on the scene to uncover the truth. Karan and Naren turn out to be school buddies as well. Maya is the only suspect for the murder, but all evidence points in her favor, so no arrest can be made. What steps does Karan take to unravel the mystery? What do Maya and Naren do to avoid being charged for murder? Answers to these questions form the rest of the story.

Performances: Kareena Kapoor Khan was too good as Maya Dsouza and conveyed the emotions of her character effortlessly. Jaideep Ahlawat’s performance was fantastic in a multi layered character. The way he showed the innocence, quirky and evil angles according to the scenes was commendable. Vijay Varma was also superb as the police officer who looks like a funny man but is has a sharp brain.

Verdict:

Jaane Jaan is an ordinary thriller which is backed by terrific performances by Kareena, Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma and occasionally good writing but fails to get on to the next level. Despite having an intriguing plot and setup, the lackluster handling of twists and characters works against the film. You can watch it for the performances of the leading cast.

South Indian Films sealing OTT deals within 4 weeks of release

If we observe see all the recent South Indian releases, all the films are coming on OTT within 4 or 5 weeks irrespective of the result at the box office. Even if the film is a blockbuster, the movie will be getting available for streaming on OTT in just 4–5 weeks. This is not only happening in Telugu cinema happening but in total South Indian Cinema as well. The most of the films locking OTT deals for early release and getting sold big prices.

While some Pan Indian films like KGF 2 and RRR had a longer gap between the theatrical and OTT release, that is why they did not face any problems with the Hindi version’s release. However, films like Ponniyin Selvan 2, Jailer and now Leo have faced problems for Hindi version’s release because of the early OTT deals.

Reportedly, the Negotiations are ongoing for the upcoming action thriller of Thalapathy Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj, Leo’s Hindi version to be released smoothly in national multiplex chains, which strictly follow the 8-week window (56 days) for any Hindi film between theatrical and OTT release.

In the south, as said above, the window between theatrical and OTT releases for big films is only 4 weeks (28 days) as per the norm. Jailer, PS2, and other Hindi versions were not released in multiplex chains and only had single screens in North India recently for the same reason.

At present, nearly 40-50% of South films that have been dubbed into Hindi have major share collected at multiplexes.

Boyapati Srinu, in a career spanning a decade and a half, has created a brand for himself as the out-and-out mass director. His main strength is the action parts and showing the hero in two different dimensions. So many of his movies including his films with Balakrishna such as Simha, Legend, and Akhanda followed the same concept.

He is following the same trope in Skanda too as Ram can be seen in 2 different looks with one character in a completely mass avatar. And just like Akhanda, Skanda is also said to be banking majorly on action episodes with multiple action blocks featuring continuously from pre-interval to climax. Boyapati has even locked the same runtime as Akhnda for this Ram starrer. Both Akhanda and Skanda have a runtime of 168 minutes.

Directed by Boyapati Srinu and starring Ram and Sree Leela in the lead roles, Skanda also stars Srikanth, Gauthami, Saiee Manjarekar among others. SS Thaman has composed the music while Srinivasaa Chitturi has produced this action entertainer on a massive budget under the Srinivasaa Silver Screen banner. Skanda is set to hit the screens worldwide in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi on 28th September.

As he promised, he joined the sets worked for the film for 4 days and almost completed his shooting part and got back to his political duties. Only a small portion of shoot is pending of him which will take just another one day or mostly 2 days and that is also expected to be completed in the next few days. Now the team of Bhagavanth Kesari is relaxed as they are completing the shoot part within this month as planned.

Directed by Anil Ravipudi, the film stars Sree Leela as the daughter of Balakrishna. Sahu Garapati and Harish Peddi are producing the movie under the banner of Shine Screens. The movie stars Kajal Aggarwal as the leading lady opposite Balakrishna, wherein National Award-Winning actor Arjun Rampal is debuting in Tollywood with the movie.

The film has cinematography by C Ram Prasad, while Tammi Raju is the editor and Rajeevan is the production designer. V Venkat choreographs the action part. S Thaman is the music director of the film.

Lady Superstar Nayanthara has made her Bollywood debut with Shah Rukh Khan and Atlee’s Jawan which was released on September 7th and the film has become a massive blockbuster at the box office. While everyone in the unit is so happy and enjoying the success, Nayanthara is upset and angry with Director Atlee over her role.

Before the film’s release, the team clearly mentioned that Nayanthara was the lead actress of the film and Deepika Padukone just appears in a cameo in the film, According to industry buzz, Atlee expressed the same to Nayanthara before signing the film, so she also thought that Deepika’s character will have a very less runtime.

But after the release, everything got changed as Deepika Padukone had a strong characterization with a good amount of screen time. Nayanthara is said to be upset for the same reason, as Atlee has edited her scenes and reduced her characters’ screen time.

Unexpectedly, Deepika Padukone’s performance was elevated and Nayanthara’s role was somehow neglected in Jawan. Deepika was reported to make a special appearance in the film as the wife of Vikram Rathod, the father role played by SRK. Well, it did not turn out to be a cameo, but Jawan appeared like a ‘SRK-Deepika’ film. It was not a cameo at all because the magic of the SRK -Deepika pair is something else, and it has a deep connect with the fans.

Nayanthara is so particular about all these things. But it is not like her character was completely dominated. She also had good screen presence and emotional moments in Jawan, but as said above, Deepika Padukone’s charming performance was loved more by the audiences.

Meanwhile, during one of his “Ask SRK” sessions on X, Shah Rukh Khan spoke about his experience of working with Nayanthara. He wrote, “She [Nayanthara] is so beautiful and such a wonderful actor. Has added immensely to her role. Hope her fans in Tamil Nadu fall in love with her all over again and the Hindi audience appreciates her hard work.”

Jawan OTT release version features a very lengthy runtime

The fans of Shah Rukh Khan are enjoying the massive success of their favorite hero’s latest film, Jawan. The movie, which is continuing to dominate the box office by collecting over 900Cr Gross worldwide, is scheduled to be released on Netflix and will also have deleted scenes from the theatrical version. The OTT release date for the movie starring Shah Rukh Khan by Atlee has not yet been announced.

Reportedly, the OTT version will include certain scenes that were omitted in the theatrical release to maintain a reasonable length. Atlee, the director, is in the process of working on a new cut of the film to provide a more immersive viewing experience for the viewers.

The final copy of the Jawan is said to be around 200 minutes, and the team has edited more than 30 minutes for theatrical release. Director Atlee already mentioned that Jawan OTT version will consist of an extended runtime.

It looks like the team of Jawan is in plans to release the final copy version which will make the OTT version’s runtime is expected to be in the range of 3 hours 10 minutes or 3 hours 20 minutes.
